I have two of my favorite Carvel ice cream stores in New York(since my #1 favorite in Fleetwood on Bronx River Road closed a while ago) one in in Hartsdale all the way up Central Ave(towards White Plains) and the other is this one on Webster Ave in New Rochelle. I haven’t been to the one in Hartsdale in approx 10 years so I can’t speak for that one, BUT I have frequented this location over the many years that I lived in New York as well as just visited. All Carvel’s are not alike. This place is consistent. It is clean, frozen goods are stacked and abundant, and the service is impeccable. If this review was solely for Oscar I would give it 5 Stars! Oscar is an extremely friendly & professional young man. I don’t know perhaps he is the owner(at 17 or 18 years old). My only concern is that the flavor of the ice cream in the Oreo sandwiches(the look like mini flying saucers) wasn’t as amazing as I am used to for this place. I am well aware that there is one remade mix that comes from the factory, but I am also aware that franchises can unfortunately tamper with the mix, hence all Carvel stores are NOT alike. I didn’t have the time this trip to go back and taste the fresh soft serve to see if there was something off or if it was just the new Oreo promotion sandwiches that may be affected by the flavor from the actual Oreo cookie of which alway had a fake sweet over the top taste of which I have never been a fan. Hoping that the regular Flying Saucers and/or the soft serve Vanilla ice cream is still pure as it has been for the past 20 plus years here. TBC…

I’m not sure why a google search of «carvel new rochelle» took me to the location on webster ave, but I am glad I found this location by accident. They have ample parking, the quality of their soft serve is amazing and the people that work here are very nice. I still love dropping by on Wednesdays to take advantage of the buy one get one deals. :). I’ve had lots of «expensive» ice cream cakes, but nothing beats carvel’s classic and«cheap» chocolate/vanilla with crunchies.

I remember«in my younger, and more vulnerable years» when going to an ice cream shop with some gal was cute, ahh summer ’09, shaking my head! Going here week-in and week-out. Haha, very innocent indeed! *2 years later* I’m an adult now but I still think this shop is very cute. I have a busy schedule nowadays, but whenever I go, I don’t even have to make an order bc they know who I am, what my story is and what my drink is(caramel carvelatte, medium w/whip cream) talk about good customer service ;-) If you pay in cash, you automatically receive 15% off(doesn’t make much difference in the end). The owner’s motto is obviously«CREAM — Cash Rules Errything Around Me!» (Yes, I got the«younger and more vulnerable years» quote from The Great Gatsby) #Educated
