This place is absolutely terrible. I don’t recommend anyone go in there if you don’t know who the owner is. She treats new customers disgustingly. I went in with a party of 3, one girl knew the owner and recommended we go in and visit her friend silkie (owner) because her business was really slow and shutting down. We walk in and she’s watching TV in her pajamas, the place is empty and very very dark. We sit down and she quickly tells us about some 10 $ drink that’s 250 proof (bullcrap) she wants us all to buy but won’t tell us what’s in it, We walked in to socialize not to get completely hammered, it was a Wednesday for crying out loud. My guests bought it, I passed, I like to know what I’m drinking. So she tells me I can’t sit down unless i order something. I thought, okay well let me settle down before I even order I don’t like to just drink what ever, especially if she won’t tell me what alcohol she’s using. She wouldn’t let me sit down unless I ordered a drink first. I told her I was thinking about it and she said «you can’t come in here and think about what you wanna drink, I don’t rent space I sell drinks, you’re being very rude right now». At that point we had been in there for a little under four minutes. I thought maybe she’s just kidding because her friend is in here, but no she began yelling at me to leave because I didn’t want to follow her rules. She wouldn’t even let my friends try each other’s drinks. My friend gave her 20 bucks and we immediately waked out, we didn’t even take a sip of the drinks. She didn’t even try to keep us in there or apologize she was happy with her only sale of the day. This was honestly the worst bar I have ever walked into. You would think someone who is going out of business would welcome new company and treat them well for more recommendations, but she was just out of hand and very unprofessional. Looking at the other reviews I see I am not new to this terrible service.

While the place may look nice, the owner is completely disrespectful. The minute you enter she is already judging you. She will treat you differently if she doesn’t like you. She also has rules that you cannot share drinks just to try it. If you do not know about her rules, even if you were a newcomer like me — she will overcharge you. It isn’t a pleasant atmosphere when the bartender is harassing you. I avoid this place at all costs. I highly do NOT recommend it unless you want to be treated like dirt.

Amazing place! Felt like I was in Manhattan. The drinks were priced right, without compromising the proper mix. The wings were tasty and Silky provided great conversation. I’m happy to have found a nice spot in New Rochelle, that I can frequent when I’m in town.

So here’s the deal. You walk in. She tells you about her drink. Says its 250 proof (impossible) of course I tried it. Didn’t get a warm belly from booze. Don’t dare leave cigarettes on the bar unless u want to be chastised. Better order all your food at one time or expect major attitude. Screw that place. Never again!!! Toxic owner!!!

Interesting and unique place. The signature drink is tasty and strong. Only mid/​top shelf liquor here. Not a gay bar, despite the abundance of cocks. Owner is strangely fascinated by avians and has some good stories to tell.

A horrible business that is poorly and solely operated by the owner, named «silky.» I went in for a birthday with a group of eight people. We were treated horribly because 2 individuals didn’t want to drink, therefore, we were kicked out. Silky is a terrible business woman, I’m surprised the business continues to run.

Dear Silkie. You are awesome, unique, witty, and sassy. This place is very unique and if you love it, you love it. If you don’t, you don’t. I happen to love it and it’s unique vibe. Silkie is flippin awesome as well. She takes no sh*t and treats her place accordingly. She is dedicated to her venue and I love that about her. High five, Silkie. You’re great.

Beware of this place. Don’t fall for the «good reviews» on here. She tried to charge my friends for a drink we didn’t order and pocketed $$ from us. I shoulda known this place was sketchy when the wicked witch herself was behind the bar and there was porn pics on the bathroom walls. Empty, sketchy, she took our pictures and posted them on her fb to make it look like she was busy on a Friday night but alas there were 2 people in there when we rolled in 10 deep and 2 people were left lonely at the bar when we left after 20 min.

This place is empty most of the time’s I’ve went. The drinks are okay and the prices aren’t too bad. The owner «seems» nice but can get really nasty sometimes. Personally I’ve never had a problem with her but she has made some really unnecesarry snide remarks to my friends and even kicked several of them out for really dumb reasons.
Do not let her take your picture!!! She thinks the is some kind of artist or something but all she does is add cheesy cartoon style photoshop effects that make you look like a zombie and then posts them all over facebook without your consent. She takes pictures of everyone that walks in so that she can make it appear like she has a huge clientelle on social networks but really it’s just like the same 20 people over and over again.
I made a comment telling her the pics were awful and clearly she doesn’t care. She deleted my comment and kept on doing it. Trust me, it needs to stop. I am only saying what EVERYONE is thinking, they are just too polite to tell her or may be they are afraid she will take it out on their drinks next time. She seems like the kind of person that would. I personally don’t care because I never plan on returning. After she insulted my best friend that was pretty much it for me. May be more people would actually come in if you put that camera away.
Backyard is a more comfortable vibe. Go across the street.

Great place to hang in new Rochelle. Fun. Inviting. Cold cold drinks. Great juke
Box. Free pool table. Personable and caring owner who is always there. Great mixed crowd of peeps.

How can you have visible beer taps but no draft beer? And then proclaim that you’ve never had draft beer… so why the draft taps??? Overpriced, doesn’t take credit cards, owner/​bartender so odd and odd looking that her face and attitude is actually a reason to go here… just once. I saw people there enjoying themselves. None of them were seated at the bar. I’m assuming it’s only fun in a divey way if you don’t get within the gravitational pull of the weirdo owner.
Sure I can see why tight jeaned hipsters might love this place, ironically of course. As for regular folks, absolutely not. Stay away. Go across to Backyard pub like we did to get service without malice, where they have draft beer AND take credit. Or go to Spectators. Maybe this owner will wonder why the other bars are at capacity fri-​sun and she is barely a ¼ full. Probably not though. She seems quite set in her ways.
Also, she like to take pics of her patrons and put them on an endless reel that plays on the TVs… creeepy.

I love this place. I love Silkie. I can’t believe all these bad reviews. I know many people who adore her. She has always been kind and welcoming to my friends and I. The atmosphere is unique and her spunk is awesome. She’s a hard worker and takes great care of her establishment. The drinks are good and well-​priced. Go!

This place is amazing! If you treat the bar well, Silkie treats you well. Everyone is inviting and the atmosphere is great. Can’t wait to go back!

This place is terrible. The last time I went here the Owner/​bartenderess was unbelievably rude. The place was completely empty and her attitude made us leave within 15 minutes. I would never go back there again.
