Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester

They went bankrupt and didn’t pay for their services rendered. Screwed vendors out of a lot of money! Shame on them This affected many families lives. Scares me to think what other costs are being cut back on!

I arrived at the ER with possible heart problems. It was after midnight. They kept me in the waiting room til I complained. Once I got into a bay there was only one doc there so I had to wait. Meanwhile I was scared and in pain. The place seemed dirty. When I called out for a nurse, I was completely ignored. The doc was nice, but very busy, Thank god all was well and I got out 3 hours later.

I don’t normally post reviews — in fact, this is my first. My experience in the ER with my newborn baby girl was so horrific I feel compelled to forewarn other parents of babies who may contemplate taking them to Sound Shore for sake of ease, commute, time or money. It is not worth it.
My newborn girl had moderate jaundice after birth and I thought I could not get in to see her pediatrician over the weekend, so rather than wait until Monday, my husband and I took her to Sound Shore ER for blood work. She was pricked and prodded, restrained and frightened, jabbed and hysterical. We were there for hours waiting on results and the blood draw took just as long; two adult nurses talking at her, restraining her, slapping her inner elbow in search of an adult sized vein and jabbing needles into her tiny little hands to no avail. The first sample was insufficient so the nightmare continued. My husband and I felt helpless. One doctor on staff in the ER spent most his time on the phone with other patients and doctors, presumable. We had to hound him for updates on our daughter’s labs.
It was the worst experience of my life next to my father’s heart attack.
