First time doing business with Randy. We are very impressed and grateful.
My wife and I got to the new house half hour before the inspection appointment. We noticed something in the house we missed before and that could be a concern to us. We were hesitating to decide if we should proceed to the purchase. After Randy came, we showed him our concern. Almost one hour later, my wife and I made the decision to walk away from the purchase, which means cancellation of the inspection. We felt so sorry for Randy. He drove in rainy morning to the new house. He said he totally understood and respected our decision and he did not want to charge us any fee. Even when we offered to pay his gas money, he declined. Next time when we find another new house and need an inspector, Randy definitely is the first choice.

I needed a home inspection quickly. I spoke with Randy and my appointment was shortly after our phone conversation. Randy made me feel very comfortable asking questions and I observed a very thorough job. Any questions I had there was an immediate answer. I got the inspection report back that same day! Even now over a month after the inspection if I have any questions he always picks up my calls and helps as I am closing on the house and need further information. I cannot say enough good things about my experience.

Very thorough and professional.
Took 3.30 hours and at the end of the inspection gave my wife and a I and verbal report. The very next day we received an email with every account of what was inspected with suggestions and pics. I strongly suggest using him. It helped us with the neg price of the home and we feel confident with our purchase.

Randy has completed 2 inspections for me, both in Beacon. I have owned two homes before, both for over 10 years, and consider myself an experienced «do-​it-​yourselfer». I am extremely impressed with Randy’s professionalism and thoroughness. He was on time and ready to go at the appointed time. He encouraged me to stay with him and ask as many questions as I had. There was never any rush, and every aspect of the house and grounds were examined. As others have mentioned, the report he provides contains not only great details, but pictures to back them up. This will be invaluable as the homeowner. I will be able to hire an electrician and state precisely what needs to be accomplished. Randy also did a radon test on the homes, and made all the arrangements to return to pick up the test cannisters. His communications are always clear and timely.
Whether buying, selling or just wanting to know what shape your house is really in, I highly recommend Advantage Home Inspections.

I used this company to inspect a farm I am buying in Ulster County, NY. My inspector was Randy and I have to say that I got more than my moneys worth. They did such a thorough investigation/​inspection that I was able to get the price lowered to a more realistic amount. Randy was able to accommodate me when I requested for a home inspection in 3 days in Marlboro area. It was pouring with lightning/​thunderstorms that day. When we got to the house, he was already there. While waiting for our realtor, he began to inspect the outside of the home even going on the roof! All in all, he was very thorough and was able to explain his findings and make recommendations. He sent me a report that was detailed and complete with pictures. He is also very nice and easy to reach.

We were looking to buy a house in the New Paltz area and didn’t know anyone in the area. We called Randy at Advantage Home Inspection based on his one Unilocal!review and he was fantastic! We really lucked out. From start to finish he was professional, courteous, prompt, and really knew his stuff. He accommodated our schedule easily. The inspection was very thorough and he really took his time explaining every detail to us and answering all of our questions. Randy got us the entire report — complete with pictures of all the issues he found with the house — before the end of the day. We wanted to know specifics about the washer/​dryer unit and he very quickly responded to our email inquiry after the fact. He also recommended a great company to help us out with the septic system. Our crazy dog was also present for the entire inspection and Randy was so nice to him. We can’t say enough about Advantage! We are so thankful we found them.
