My wife and I have a modest collection of sport cars and VW based kit cars. I began bringing my dune buggy to Barry and most recently my ‘baby’, our 1973 Jaguar E Type. Barry treats all our cars with the utmost care and he repairs them professionally and reasonably. Barry is a treasure for those of us with ‘unusual’ cars that need his special skills… I don’t know what we would do without him. Barry is skilled at vintage VW and Jaguar repair and I HIGHLY recommend him!

I have owned BMWs and Volvos for the past 8 years, and it took me about that many years to find a competent, HONEST car mechanic who doesn’t talk down to women and who does an excellent job, every time. The prices are fair, compared to going to a Volvo dealer, and Barry does all the work himself, taking great pride in his work. He has never surprised me with an exhorbitant price and makes my six-​year old XC-​90 run smoothly. You will not be dissappointed.

Vanagon owners rejoice! I had a squeaky wheel bearing after a long journey from the northwest to Newburgh to visit family. I stumbled upon Barry’s Automotive after a google search. I went to his shop saw other VW Vanagon’s and new I had a winner. Barry is really knowledgable diagnosed the problem and made the repair quickly. he’s friendly easy to talk with and cares. The last reviewer that gave him one star is clueless. A good mechanic that does the repair correctly is priceless. If want cheap go some place else, if you want it repaired correctly, go to Barry.

Barry [owner and sole mechanic] is an excellent mechanic. You pay for his expertise as he accounts for every nut, bolt, spray of lubricant and every moment he ponders or mulls over a solution for your repair, time spent on the can, etc. After getting an astounding bill for a simple repair, I had to write him off.
