went in for a prescription, they performed the exam, gave it to me and ordered 6 months worth of contacts. All good.

This place and staff are great. I had sunglasses that were missing the nose pads and I called them to see if they could fix them. They said definitely. When I got there, the representative took my sunglasses to see if he had anything that fit. He came back in 2 minutes with the glasses fixed and did not charge me for the service or for the pieces. In the store they have great variety of designer frames. I will definitely be coming back here!

i had excellent service at ¹⁰⁄₁₀ Optics! They have frames that I have not seen in the other optics stores in NYC from all over the world. Dr. Rozenberg and Ruth were totally dedicated and searched to find the best frame for me. I got a very nice frame from a European company. A few months later, the nose-​pad on one side cracked (I tried to adjust it myself and bent it too hard). I realized it might be hard to fix it as melding it would melt the plastic frame. I decided to try nevertheless. Without a question, they took my frame and told me they would replace it at no cost. Within less than a week I received an email that my glasses were ready for pick up. I was very happy at ¹⁰⁄₁₀ Optics! Highly recommend it to anyone!

Found ¹⁰⁄₁₀ Optics on Unilocal because I need my Ray Bans fixed. A screw had popped out in the hinge so I took them over to see if they could fix it. I left them there and got a call back in less than an hour that my glasses had been repaired, free of charge. The staff that I encountered was so incredibly generous and helpful. I truly appreciated the help!

I have bought frames there twice, paying over $ 500 a pair (just the frames). I got in touch with them and asked them if they could order me a pair so I could try them on to see if I liked them before I laid out over $ 500 for glasses that I didn’t like or didn’t fit. My answer was I would have to give a non-​refundable deposit. Jesus, who works there, knew me and knew I was not just window shopping. I emailed him back explaining my situation and never even got a response. So I went to another eyeglasses store, asked them the same thing and their answer was yes, and I had never even been there before. They also told me the company didn’t charge them for sending over frames to the U.S. for their customers to try on. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER.

I have had awful customer service experience at this store, enough for me to take precious time out of my very busy schedule to write about, which I told them I would. I’m Asian and my nose doesn’t bulge out to fit a lot of plastic frames. After reading about the plastic nose pads that they installed here, I decided to try it out.
When I first got there a lady (can’t remember her name, I think she was maybe Hispanic) told me that she would make my frames fit well. She said I would get an email when my frames were ready. I never got an email and had to call, which I wouldn’t mind if she hadn’t said that I would definitely get a notification.
Next, when I went to pick them up, this African-​American man basically just gave me the frames and said they look fine. It did not look fine. The nose pads were extremely obvious and scrunched up in the middle. I didn’t trust his judgment of how the glasses should fit. My gut feeling was correct because my nose pads kept leaving very red marks on my nose. I went back and wanted them to adjust it they best that they could. I got that first lady again and she probably spent 2 minutes max with me. They were turning off the lights as I was trying on the adjustments she made because they had to close, which made me feel rushed. I don’t think she tried her best because she said you can come back on Sunday. Yeah, you think I just have hours of time to burn to come back and forth because you’re not getting it right the second time? Not first, but second… My time is very valuable and I don’t like wasting it to come to your store 3 times for a simple glasses adjustment which you should’ve got right the first time. Then I asked if my eyes sat at a good distance vertically, and her response was that’s the best it’ll fit. Any higher and it would kill my nose she said. Honestly it fits pretty much the same vertically as without the nose pads. But I was promised that it would fit better. I definitely don’t want these cheap looking metal nose pads on my very expensive Persol frames if it doesn’t improve the fit by much.
So in summary, first I was promised things that weren’t delivered — that my pair of glasses would fit better and to receive a notification of when it was done. Second, they always seemed to rush me out of there without doing a thorough job. If I’m going to pay $ 50 for these unflattering nose pads I expect a good fit and to not have to come 3 times to achieve that. This is subjective but I thought that they were pretty rude, saying phrases like «listen…» more than once and using their hands as if they were trying to tell me to stop talking. I’m not a child so please don’t address me like one. What if I treated you like that in the hospital? That’s a no go and unprofessional. I do not feel «relaxed and at home» as they promise in their business description. In summary if you’re not sure if your glasses would be better with nose pads and also want help with adjusting nose pads to fit you well, I wouldn’t recommend this place based off my experience and would actually like a refund. If you know what you’re doing with nose pads and can adjust them to fit yourself well then it’s probably ok.
My rational for the 2 star rating is — minus 1 for installing a nose pad that doesn’t improve the fit of my glasses and promising that it would. Minus 1 for rushing me both times. Minus 1 for the attitude (s).

Came to fix a small part of a pair of glasses and they were really helpful and friendly.

I stopped in here this afternoon to get my sunglasses adjusted. Steve was so friendly and accommodating and gladly helped me out. I went into this location on a whim after stopping into two other optical/​retail eyewear locations and being told that my glasses were «too big and couldn’t be fixed». I knew that wasn’t the case as it was quite a simple task. Thanks to Steve and ¹⁰⁄₁₀ Optics for great, honest customer service!

I booked an appointment on a Friday and was able to get in to see the Dr. the next Monday. The visit was excellent! Dr. Rozenberg was a pleasure to speak with, chatty and informative — not like any eye dr. appointment I have ever had. He really seemed like he cared and wanted to help answer all my questions. Would highly recommend to others looking for a great eye dr. in the area. Will be back and actually looking forward to the visit!

There is simply no better place for precision quality eye glass prescriptions to be filled… no better place in ANY CITY. In addition, the frames at ¹⁰⁄₁₀ Optics are artistic without being overpriced. Every frame is selected, in my observation, to be a reflection of the superb taste of the owners. Ruth and her staff on the eyeglass selection and fitting side of the business are excellent judges of what the client needs and how to adjust the frames. Their customer service is outstanding. This is not like any optical shop I have ever been in anywhere in the US or Europe. Dr. Rosenberg is very experienced and knowledgable, but does not oversell. Together, he and Ruth run the best vision operation I have ever visited. They sell eyewear that is real facial jewelry and is precisely made to the prescription of the patient. I have had four pairs of glasses made here, and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Iris at 1010 could not have been more helpful in helping with my minor travel emergency. After trying to work with two other eye places around Chelsea /​Flatiron who were no where near as pleasant or accommodating than Iris and 1010, I happened upon 1010 through Unilocal.She appreciated the situation I was in and made me feel like helping me was important to her. I could not recommend a better place than ¹⁰⁄₁₀ optics for eyewear. As I had my own opthalmologist fax in my prescription, I can’t speak for the doctor, but the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. From frame to frame, explanations as to why some weren’t a good choice versus others, to cost and differences — he was fantastic and made what is generally a grueling task for me a pretty painless one. I left without checking into Unilocal not realizing there was an offer for prescription eyewear and he honored the cost difference as well. In 3 days I had my glasses ready to be picked up and I couldn’t be happier (outside of one day miraculously waking up with perfect vision, that is). They also carry brands that you normally don’t find in your everyday storefront, and vastly different styles than what you’d expect.

All I can say is THANK YOU! Thank you to Steve S!!! I have been wearing glasses since the 3^rd grade —now in my hmmmm60’s! and never had anyone so helpful and experienced with choosing frames. From the very first frame it was perfection. Steve took his time offering his expertise and wonderful personality — -I wanted something a little edgy — a little snazzy — but suitable for my age. I bought two pair — plus a sunglass cover for one pair. Not only was the service excellent but prices too. I am from middle TN —took my own prescription — -and have to say the prices are very comparable with prices here — -maybe even less? I really can’t say enough about Steve — -so happy with my frames and buying experience! Now I have another reason to return to NY — to get my yearly glasses!

I had one of the best customer service experience at ¹⁰⁄₁₀ optics. This place is truly a gem and I need to write a stellar review!
Finding new frames always gives me anxiety. My features are Asian, I have no nose bridge and I have a very wide face. Frames never fit me right, they rest on my cheeks, slide off my nose, and are so close to my eyes, it touches my lashes.
While searching the internet, I came upon a brand callled TC Charton which specializes in «Asian Fit» frames. I searched some more and came upon ¹⁰⁄₁₀ optics who seem to be the only one in NYC carrying these frames.
I decided to pay ¹⁰⁄₁₀ optics a visit and I was certainly not disappointed. I was greeted in such a friendly manner by Betty and felt comfortable right away. I explained to her what I needed, she listened, nodded, and busted out at least 10 different frames.
Betty took her time with me, reviewed every single frame with me, gave me tips and advice and made it such a fun and comfortable experience! I had never ever been this relaxed looking for a new frame and I had never had so much fun choosing one!
The whole experience was so stellar that I decided to leave my current optometrist and go with ¹⁰⁄₁₀ optics all the way from now on.
I just came back from picking up my new frames and I am so happy happy happy! They even gave me a super cute frame case… It looks like a clutch, so cute. I left feeling special and appreciated.

I love ¹⁰⁄₁₀ optics! I’ve been coming here since my Mom brought me when I was 11 and found out I needed glasses. 14 years later and I’m still coming back, some people claim it’s expensive, and sure, maybe it is. But you get what you pay for! You get amazing personalized help and as an ortho-​k patient that’s really important.
I always look forward to my appointments because everyone is so friendly and fun to chat with.
I recommend them to anyone I know who needs glasses or contacts. I’ve always left happy!

You will only get a fitting at high cost, not an eye exam. The expensive frames I bought snapped in half after a year.

I originally first walked into ¹⁰⁄₁₀ simply to buy an identical pair of eyeglasses with a different prescription, and left with an experience that so positively exceeded any that I could have expected or have ever had at an optical store.
Having arrived with prescription in hand at 10/10’s wonderfully appointed location shortly before closing time, I was greeted by the most gracious woman, who clearly sensed my hesitation to consider moving away from what I believed to be the best pair of eyeglasses I’ve had in several decades.
Since I was concerned about moving into the uncharted territory of frame styles I didn’t think were suited for me, Ruth quickly realized and explained the shortcoming of the frame style I wore for years (and I really liked) and immediately selected several others, all of which were significantly better than the frame I became accustomed to. Little did I know this was only the beginning of this absolutely positive experience of buying the right eyeglasses, and how I’ve simply not been doing it all as well these last few decades.
Ruth literately «left the lights on» for me, since the store had now officially closed, and she continued to patiently explain the features, color and shape of each eyeglass pair, and why she selected them for my face. Using a unique camera and screen to photograph and simultaneously display me wearing the different frames, coupled with Ruth’s uncanny sense of style to match glasses to a face, left me incredibly pleased with the entire experience. During this process, Ruth emailed these photos to me, and looking at them later, they clearly reinforced «my» decision to go with a new frame style that better suits me.
Little did I know Ruth is the owner of ¹⁰⁄₁₀ Optics, and it’s now obvious why she and the store are a such a success, and favorite of many. It’s also why she has a new and very loyal client going forward.

I came to ¹⁰⁄₁₀ Optics to have nosepads installed on my plastic frames as they were slipping down my low Asian bridge and sitting on my cheeks. I dropped them off on a Tuesday morning, and they were ready to pick up by the afternoon. The work is very professional, and the metal arms of the nosepads even match the color of my frames!
