A New Day Radio Dispatch

This company is incredibly unprofessional and sloppy. They confirmed a reservation over the phone for a specific pick-​up time and entered the time in their system for 4 hours later than what was requested. (I even asked the representative to repeat the time back to me so there was no reason for this confusion). Because of this, an executive missed his flight for a meeting. When I called to complain, I asked to speak to a manager. The representative I spoke to said that she was the manager, and she confirmed the error was on their end and that she would get to the bottom of it. I never heard back from her. I called hours later and asked to speak to the manager again. I was transferred 5 times before I spoke to the manager, who was now a male, which means somebody was not telling the truth. When I told the story again and complained, there was no apology. He wasn’t even listening and asked if I was calling to make another reservation! I already had another reservation for pick up from the airport later that day, and I asked to cancel the reservation because I wanted to take my business elsewhere due to this mess. I was hung up on and he wouldn’t even let me cancel the reservation. I had to call back again. Prior to this incident, this company screwed up multiple e-​mail confirmations (which came from an
address — red flag). They would say they will send you an e-​mail confirmation and it would never happen. When I’ve called to follow up for the e-​mail confirmations, they would send old e-​mail confirmations from past reservations. They are not able to store your information into their system and are unreliable in every facet of their business. I would give them 0 stars.

Waited for over an hour. I was with someone who had just had a chemo treatment and it was raining. They promised to be there by 5:30. I called after about ten minutes and they said the driver had been in a fender bender and they would find us someone else. We waited over an hour. I called back every fifteen minutes and they would just put me on hold and not answer me. We finally gave up and were fortunate enough to get a yellow cab. DON’T USE THEM!!!

Driver’s over charge. …so when you call for pickup make sure that you ask for the price. …or you will pay to much… it’s not the first time I cough the driver over charging for the ride… make sure you call when you are in the car when you catch the driver over charging. .because the dispatcher will not take your word for it. afterwards …

Incompetent, unprofessional, uncommitted, unforgettable to leave an 81 year old foreign lady waiting for over an hour! They never picked her up we we’re waiting for her in Brooklyn!!! She never arrived We had to leave the restaurant to pick her up !!!

Want to support non Über drivers but their logistics, sorry to say, just ain’t cutting it. Especially for airport arrivals. Some of the night telephone operators don’t realize they’re in the service business. Bad attitude. but they did send a second car as first stuck in traffic.

The service was pretty awful. The driver did not speak English well. He took several wrong turns.
Additionally the car they sent was a badly dented Toyota Camry. I’ve taken taxis in Burma, and I’ve never gotten a car with a dent that bad.
Plenty of other car services to use in New York.

I just had the worst experience of my life in customer service the guy the dispatch to pick up the phone his name is VictorThe dispatch I was told he literally made me wait almost an hour for a cab to get to the address that I gave him which he said that I was lying that I was not in the address made me walk a couple of blocks to say that they were in the corner where they were not then every time I called he told me there 15 minutes away five minutes away in first Avenue but the person never came call him back and I told him Sir what do you want me to do do you want me to wait inside the building for the cab he said yes this point I’m getting very angry I’ve been waiting for almost an hour and nothing I call him back and I tell him this is ridiculous you have me waiting here for so long every time you tell me to go outside there’s no cab there he said that I was retarded he said that I smell like shit and he called me a bad word in Spanish then he called me a few other names I hung up on him I called and spoke to someone else and they put him on three-​way which he was of course denying what he said I have never experienced such worst worst customer service when it’s okay for you to disrespect the customer to a point where you’re calling them names and telling the passenger that’s trying to get you business that they smell like shit that my ass smells totally ridiculous how can a company somebody work for them when this is the kind of customer service you do insulting people over the phone. Literally I work in customer service and as much as I can get mine there is no way that I will ever disrespect the customer. Where’s the cab service ever they told me to call someone named Caesar tomorrow to complete let’s see if that really works I will never recommend people to the service and I will never call back again

I just had the WORST experience of a lifetime with an East Indian driver named CHOUDARY. After 45 minutes in his car — which smelled disgusting to begin with — (there is even graffiti on the armrest of the left passenger side of the car) he locked the doors and REFUSED to let me out of the car. I offered to pay him $ 10 of the $ 17 fare because I was so annoyed that despite my request, he took the route he felt would be best. I called the dispatcher who was very apologetic and he said not to pay him — and apologized for the inconvenience. When I refused to pay the driver, called the police accusing me of not paying him. Meanwhile, he LOCKED THE CAR DOORS! What madness! It was a passerby & PD traffic agent who stopped by the vehicle and told the driver he could not hold me hostage in the car. The New Day dispatcher connected me to the New Day office who told me I have to pay the driver so I offered a credit card and told the driver he would not see one cent of it. At that point, he then asked me for the $ 10 to which I firmly stated he would not get s**t from me! This debacle took 45 MINUTES! I accused him of kidnapping and told him to go ahead and call the police — b/​c there are laws against kidnapping in this country. I guess that was what prompted him to unlock the doors and I immediately got out.
Thank you to the blond woman who filmed the incident the whole time and to the traffic PD who took the time to try to reason with the driver. I am frazzled but have satisfaction in knowing that ZI did not give him one cent. My greatest DISAPPOINTMENT is with the New Day back office who did not admit the driver did anything wrong. Instead she focused on the fact that I had to pay him & next time, provide the driver with directions in advance. All true, but I can tell you that CHOUDARY is a LOSER and deserves to lose his job. SHAME on NEW DAY RADIO DISPATCH if they keep this driver. I have been a loyal customer for many years, live in the neighborhood and hire drivers often by the hour. If I could rate them a 0 for their handling of this matter, I would.

Subsequently we’ve used New Day five more times (three trips to airports and two returns), with no problems whatsoever. Also, the drivers have been very friendly each time and the dispatchers have been pleasant — so I’m upgrading back to five stars.

I’m not one to use this car service ever, because it’s not convenient for me where I live.
I went to visit a friend an afternoon and went to stay there well into the evening. I had my younger cousin there with me and didn’t want to take the train late at night with her, because my aunt would freak already.
We called this local cab service to pick us up at 7:50pm, and he did not get there until 9pm, when he told us 20 minutes.
I hate getting yelled at as an adult, let alone for stuff I could not control. No matter how many times we called, they just kept telling us to wait, and would abruptly hang up on us.
Next time I’m in the area, I am not calling these guys.
The driver we has was a good driver he didn’t drive crazy and he didn’t ask for a tip. Which is the RIGHT thing to do.

Unless they’re fully booked, don’t call anywhere else. Reliable, friendly, and always a pleasant ride.

Had to go to New Jersey and back and used A New Day for the first time. They were prompt, safe and the lowest priced. I’ll be using them again.

I have been using this service for years with decent service but today I have had the worst experience of my life. The driver not only refused to go the route I asked because it would impact HIS day, but the base decided to side with him and hung up on me. Then he told me that I should leave earlier and my time was less valuable than his. He then cursed at me. This experience was so bad and the handling of it was so bad that it completely eradicated all other good experiences. I will never use them, nor recommend them as I have in the past again. This nightmare drivers name was OSIRON. If you get him run! I his cab number is 167. HE BELIEVES HIS TIME IS MORE VALUABLE THAN YOURS.

i called in the morning for an estimate $ for car service from the lower east side to lefferts garden brooklyn. i would need to transport two boxes with me and needed a larger car. not quite an svu — but it was the only option besides a car, so i agreed to the svu. a friend had recommended this service to me, since i was on a budget. i gave them my two points of destination that morning and was quoted $ 45.00 for the svu, given my two points of travel. i thought that was a bit high, but ordering car service would save me unnecessary stress of hailing cab, hailing a mini-​van cab, waiting on a curb, explaining directions, and begging a yellow to take me to brooklyn — late at night. friends of mine have taken yellow home from noho to brooklyn in my area for 25.00. i should have gone with yellow.
i caved tonight after work, — and called new day.
a few things– they don’t take credit cards. had no idea and we had to stop by a chase so i could pull out cash.
after calling two times that day and had given my destination address– i was annoyed that we were searching and pulling up directions in the ride too — on our phones — in mid drive– shuffling while driving– that whole thing.
it was just as much pain as hailing a yellow.
it was more expensive than hailing yellow.

I’ve used most of the car services in NYC, and this is by far the worst. This trip, the pickup at the airport was to be curbside, which is fine, but the driver insisted on picking up my group from the lane that was clearly marked NO STOPPING AT ANY TIME, indeed he was trying to stay clear of the police patrols that were constantly keeping cars from stopping. The driver, who had called my cell phone, would absolutely not bring the car into the lane where other cars, cabs and shuttles were picking up their passengers.
For the return to the airport, which we schedule well in advance and had a confirmation number, the driver did not phone in advance when he was on the approach (as we were told he would, and as had been done on our arrival trip). We phoned the service, who insisted that the driver was outside our hotel on 45^th street, and that he would not drive thru the portico at the Marriott Marquis where every other pickup and drop off were happening. I left my group and walked the entire length of the block on 45^th and there was NO black SUV parked along the curb as they said. They had not sent a car at all, and were blatantly lying. I finally just hung up on them and we all crammed into a cab to race to the airport.
And of course they kept putting me on hold so that I could listen to their recorded message that they were «the number one car service in new york.»
WORST. CAR. SERVICE. IN NYC. PERIOD.

As a recent transplant from Flatiron, I was annoyed at how difficult it could be to catch a yellow cab in the Lower East Side. I noticed a few of my neighbors using New Day so I decided to give it a try — and was pleasantly surprised and have become a repeat customer. The drivers arrive as promised by the dispatcher and I’ve never had to stand outside to wait for a driver. The prices are also very competitive, way less than UBER (esp. when surge pricing is in effect) and generally in-​line or less than a yellow cab (my ride from Ave B and Houston to midtown runs about $ 14).
The cars I have experienced ranged in quality from brand new luxury cars to a ten-​year-​old Honda with a slight odor, which I’m willing to deal with given their reliability and price point — but might be important to someone looking to impress a date or client.
Why I didn’t give five stars: They discourage credit card payments through a 10% service charge, which I find inconvenient as I rarely carry cash. In peak times, it can be difficult to get through to the dispatcher and I’ve even had times where the line rings busy.
New Day is generally a solid service but could improve their customer experience by accepting credit cards and reducing hold time when calling for a car.

Fast service and nice driver. But I have to minus one star for the price. It cost $ 13 to go from the EV to Penn Station. I’ve taken cab rides for less than that before. The overall experience was good despite the price.

This is hands down my favorite car service to use. I found them through Unilocal about a year and a half ago when I was looking for someone who would transport me and my cat (RIP Curmudgeon) to the vet. I can’t tell you how many other places would just say no and hang up on me. One time I had to walk about a mile, with a crazed cat in tow, because no yellow cabs would stop for me and I couldn’t find a car service. Anyways, these guys rock. I frequently use them to get to and from the airports and vet offices.
New Day is not only the cheapest car service but the fastest. Whenever I call last minute for a car, no matter where I am or where I’m going, they say «Ok, four minutes.» Then they arrive about a minute and a half later. Their services are also so much cheaper than any other car service and/​or yellow cabs. For example, when I go up to 17^th and Broadway it costs $ 10. In a yellow cab, it costs anywhere from $ 11.50-$ 15. In a livery cab, it costs $ 15+.
Lastly, the drivers are always super polite. One time the dispatcher even called to make sure that I was okay with a trainee being in the car. Some of the drivers make small talk which I like. It’s always cool with me if someone wants to bond over our mutual love of cats.
In conclusion, if you need a reliable, cheap, and all around great car service, give these guys a call.

I’ve adopted this as my go to transit to the airport in the past few months and they have managed to hit it out of the ballpark enough to warrant the coveted five star rating. Quite simply, they exceed my expectations for service and still surprise me with their low prices.
1) Reliability. The driver always arrive on time, if not 10 minutes early.
2) Ease. You can book a car anywhere from a week in advance to an hour before you need it. They’ll probably even arrive instantly but I’ve never tried.
3) Service. All of the drivers and cars (aside from my very first experience, with the fish car) are great. The drivers are incredibly friendly, swinging by your bank if you need to grab cash etc without charging extra. The cars are nice, spacious and always a smooth ride.
4) Speed. These guys always manage to get me to the airport way early, even taking special routes if there’s traffic. They know the city and you won’t be stuck in that horrible driving in circles situation that happens sometimes with Yellow Cabs.
5) Price. It’s $ 45 plus tip and tolls to JFK and $ 35 total to LGA. I’m coming from the east village but I’m pretty certain you won’t find a better price point for the quality. It’s cash only but as I mentioned, they’ll stop at a bank if you need it.
