Joseph Abrams, Esq. was a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (then called Association of Immigration and Nationality Lawyers) from its outset. His son Franklin joined the practice after teaching law at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Joseph Abrams passed away in 1982.

Franklin’s son Jason has been with the firm for over eight years. Together, Franklin and Jason and their staff of associates and nonattorney professionals have provided careful and erudite service to thousands of persons seeking to live, work, and play in the United States.

Jason frequently speaks on panels concerning all aspects of immigration law. He currently serves as Chair and co-​Chair of two committees combating the unauthorized practice of law. He also serves as Special Counsel to the Departmental Disciplinary Committee, 1st Dept.

Jason is a member of AILA’s Military Assistance Program, providing free legal services to military members and their families, and was recently given the Joseph Minsky Young Lawyer Award for outstanding contributions made as a young lawyer in the field of immigration and nationality law.
