Terrible Groupon Deal!!!
The lady Sophia was terrible. She lied about how long it would take to draw a tattoo up (1 hour to draw is what she said). She wanted to use the time to draw a whole hour for a writing I already had. She asked a friend to make sure everything was spelled right in Arabic but I didn’t have a whole book written out! She told me my tattoo would take 3 hours which included the drawing and consultation which we never got. I included a picture of my tattoo. Don’t put up a group for a deal if you don’t want to do what the deals says or short change. Since she wanted to short change she got no tip. I only tip good work. She also walked away from doing my tattoo without saying anything and came back. I think that was to waste time to make it seem like it would take 3 hours. I came with my friend and I would suggest not to buy this groupon. I used a tattoo groupon before at Kartel studio and the guy was great! My friend and I both came here and we both hates it and I’m sure she will write her own review. Sophia is a Scam artist. We watched other artist do plenty of tattoos bigger than mine and people come and went and she was wasting time talking to other customers while «timing» how long we were there.

I come here because the groupon price is so adorable for someone like me who is absolutely addicted to getting new tattoos. If it were up to me I’d have a new one every month.
All places in the city are just so overpriced and all compete with each other but there are never really great offers that stand out! When I first got this groupon I had met Sophia and from then on I’ve been going to her!
She is amazing and so talented. She created a one of a kind mandala for me with awesome dot work. She also did a finger tattoo for me. Before doing it she did remind me of the risks of getting a spot like my cuticle tattooed and I was very aware of it.
She’s become a regular artist for me and I have to say I’ll be coming back to her every time I have the urge to get some new ink!

Had a very bad experience here. I got a Groupon for myself and a friend; the people who worked there redeemed it and told us to come back in a few hours. We came back then to find that they would neither tattoo us nor refund our money, for no legitimate reason whatsoever. Not only that, but they were extremely rude and the customer service was awful. Do not recommend.

My navel piercing closed up, and I had it redone here quickly and rather painlessly in a clean environment. I currently have a nicely healed navel piercing and I do not have tetanus. Yay.

I met Sophia About 2 years ago, and She is my Go-​to artist. She has keen eye for detail and is very patient when drawing up a design. She drew my Ukrainian Mandala from scratch and made sure it was exactly what I wanted. Her lines are crisp and straight (unless they don’t have to be) and her shading is bold. My tattoo healed beautifully (especially being on my inner wrist which is a common area that rejects ink) and the whole process was just incredibly pleasant. She will always try to work with you in terms of pricing and is very honest about what she does. She truly cares for her clients and makes sure to check up with the customer throughout the healing process. I am thankful for her skill, talent and creativity. Looking forward to my next piece.

I’ve had a number of pieces done by Sophia, and every single one of them has been a point of immense pride, and well worthy of all the compliments I receive on a daily basis. She’s been nothing but professional, warm, and extremely competent, and I can’t wait to get my sleeve done by her!

Wow, although via phone Sean sounds nice as pie, this place has the WORST customer service as indicated in the review below. I wish I could give it 0 stars. I’ve been reaching out since Jan. 1 to get pricing on a tattoo — spoke with Julie on Instagram about it. I then found a GroupOn for 3 hour tattooing and she told me that’s for a particular artist (Sophia)… cool. Sophia contacts me. We schedule an appt for 12:30 today. It was confirmed (Me: see you then). I actually wanted it to be earlier as this is my last day on the East Coast but this was their earliest time. To make sure I am there, I stay the night in NYC… Morning: for some reason, she forgot about our clear confirmation and asked if I could push it to 1pm. I say cool. She then goes on to ask if I could come to the Brooklyn shop. To which I respond, no. 13 minutes later, she sends me a cancellation. A cancellation. A freaking cancellation. Wow. She then resends the same message to me multiple times as I try to figure out how this happened… Especially considering the clear appointment time of 12:30p, her request to move it to 1pm (obliged) and her request to come to Brooklyn (denied). Unacceptable. I will also attach photos for anyone who believes this is unbelievable. I feel the same way.

Had my tattoo done last night by Rob. He was very nice and knew just what I wanted for my tattoo. Very professional place had me sign a waiver and ask for ID. Very reasonable price based on my own budget. Nice set up with a huge back room where everyone does their tattoos. Im happy I chose Addiction after walking into 3 other places first to inquire.

Rob is literally the best. He walked me through my piercing and was so great when I cried lol.

I got my first tattoo here with Nick. He’s fantastic and really made me feel very comfortable.

Never got a chance to get a tattoo done, this review is based on customer service experience alone. As soon as I walked in the shop I got bad vibes. Came in wanting to get a tattoo done here so I asked for a price quote. The guy in the front who was supposed to be the «manager» just ignored me and did some head nod gesture signaling me to go to the back.

So I go to the back, the female tattoo artist I spoke with (Sophia) was a sarcastic know-​it-​all jerk, who gave me the sudden urge to slap her sarcastic sense of humor straight. She was acting like she was the best tattoo artist in the world. Pssh girl bye.

I know tattoos are expensive, but the price she gave me was just idiotic and ridiculous. She was super overpriced! She wanted like 280 something for a tat smaller than the back of my fist! Like really?!

So instead of slapping her to the seven depth for giving me such a stupid price. I kept myself together and walked out. I ended up going somewhere else in Brooklyn, where the artist were more friendly and the price was about right for the tattoo I wanted. I would NEVER recommend this place even if they were doing tats for free. This place is a joke!

Came here for nose piercing. The workers don’t communicate very well. The guy that gave me my piercing told me to come back in 10 minutes, ok no problem. I went outside and saw 2 people walk in. I went back inside and he was piercing someone who came in after me… he looked up to see me standing there and asked me can I help you with something!!! WTH, yes my piercing you told me to come back in 10 minute. He said, sorry, we are so busy after a while everyone starts to look the same. Wow! Piercing was fine and affordable.

Came here because I found a groupon for a pretty good deal. It was 1 hour for $ 80 or 3 hours for $ 200 was the one I thought I would get. Came to find out Sophia is the only one who takes the groupon customers, which I didn’t mind because her work aligned with the type of tattoo I wanted done. Messaged her and she told me I could come in for a free consult and then we’d discuss which groupon I should buy in shop (there were multiple options). After everything she told me that my tattoo would take 4 hours to complete and that the consult was included with that, which I didn’t mind but was a bit of misrepresentation so I paid the full $ 300 for 4 hours upfront. We did two hours for my first session (which included the consult, sketching etc), and I came in for my second session yesterday. She was late, which didn’t bother me too much. But I was surprised when it only ended up being under an hour. I am happy with the tattoo but I am definitely disappointed about the misrepresentation. In the end it still was a good deal, but I am annoyed by that. I’m not a very vocal person so I should’ve said something but I just let it be but didn’t tip, but just keep this in mind if you do choose to go the groupon way. Looking back now it’s probably a two-​way street that I didn’t speak up more and with that being said, she still did an amazing job and the tattoo wasn’t too painful and she said touch-​ups are included, would still go back to her for my future tattoos, so take this review as you may.

I came to Addiction to get my nose pierced because of the deal. I went in and left with a freshly pierced nose, nothing wrong with service. A day later, I realized that the piercing kept sinking into my skin. This happened for a few days till I returned and asked what’s wrong. They said that my post was too short so they took it out and repierced it. Little did I know that the day after, a keloid appeared, which meant that my piercing was infected. It’s been a little over a year and I’ve tried remedies and it still won’t disappear! I regret getting my nose pierced here.

Still in love with my tattoo and so happy that I got it but I’m starting to realize that $ 100 for a 2 inch tattoo that took 20/​25min is a bit much… I’d give 3.5 stars of that was a possibility

Just got my nipples pierced with Rob :) He was gentle, sweet, funny and answered all the questions my girlfriend and I had to ask!
Addiction was one of my first thoughts for where to go as I’d gotten my 2^nd & 3^rd tattoos here years ago. An East Village fixture, with great prices and wonderful ppl!

I came here this weekend to replace a bong that I had bought about a decade ago from them. Obviously it held up well :) I was hoping to find something similar to what I had gotten way back then, but styles and trends have passed me by, and I’m not yet sold on the newer styles, although they do have some beautiful pieces.
What I did end up getting was a nice, small glass pipe and a odor proof pouch. They also have great lighters. Mike, the knowledgeable, nice, and helpful guy behind the counter was really patient with me while I nitpicked over everything from the size of the pipe to the depth and width of the bowl. He also taught me a little bit about products to use with wax, which I knew nothing about.
The prices are high, but not only is it NYC, it’s St. Freakin Marks. I don’t mind paying if it means keeping another Subway from opening up there. I paid $ 38 for my pouch and my pipe, which I don’t think was unreasonable at all. Definitely worth checking out.

I came here to get a septum piercing, which cost $ 45. The service wasn’t great at all, but what was most upsetting was that after the piercing was over, I looked in the mirror and saw that I had a retainer instead of a nose ring. So it doesn’t even look like I got a piercing at all. She told me to keep the retainer in for 2 months and then I can switch it out for a nose ring. She knew it was my first time getting a septum piercing, but never told me that I was getting a retainer and not a ring until after it was complete. Anyone I know of with the piercing had a ring immediately, so it was not what I was expecting at all.
I didn’t say anything about it because I was so surprised and not sure what to think. The piercer had an attitude and was very stand-​offish so I did not feel comfortable. I feel so stupid for having paid for this and I don’t have a nose ring in my septum. Now I am going to have to go somewhere else to buy a ring and have a professional there replace it. I really wish I had gone somewhere else that would have gotten the job done right in the first place. They sell aftercare spray separately, so the ring and aftercare was not covered by the $ 45, which is pretty ridiculous.
On top of not having a nose ring, the service was pretty terrible. Our receptionist served us from outside while he smoked a cigarette and yelled through the door. Then he sent me back to the tattoo studio where I talked to the piercer, she took my information, and sent me back out to the receptionist to pay, who was still outside on his smoke break. The piercer was quick, almost too quick. I had to clarify with her whether she was doing the piercing or just making the mark, and then asked her to please give me a 3, 2, 1 countdown. It wasn’t the most well kept, sterile place. The room where I got my piercing was not very comforting and no one else was allowed in the room. If you’re nervous about getting a piercing, this is not the place to go. Go somewhere that gives you all the information, has accommodating staff, and feels cleaner.
I am very disappointed with my experience and the fact that i DONT HAVE A NOSE RING!

I can’t even give Addiction NYC a proper review because they sent me over to Elite for my ear piercing — apparently the piercer for Elite is that of Addiction’s as well.
The cashier/​person at the front was nice, but a little intense and the building itself looked slighy raunchy. However, $ 25 for 1 lobe piercing, or $ 45 for both was lower priced than Andromeda and all those other places around St. Marks. This is cheaper than Elite’s prices (they use some special studs or something) and you still get to go across the street for your piercing. Because I have to combine the Elite/​Addiction experience, Addiction gets 4 stars.

I came here a few years ago for my piercings and I was very satisfied with the cleanliness and professionalism of the team in front of me. Naturally when my friend from out of town wanted to get a simple tattoo I came back.
Sunday night, near closing, AJ took care of my friend, he was so gentle, so patient, very professional and knowledgeable. Super nice, perfect hygiene, great great rapport. Because it was late when we finished he gave us some of the antibacterial cream he recommended in a little plastic thingie just in case we couldn’t find it that late. How nice?!! My friend’s tattoo is healing well and she is so happy with it! Thanks!
