Corinne K.

Business Owner

Corinne holds a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA). Corinne completed an internship with a focus on gynecology and infertility and externships at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, a medical center serving the LGBT community and people with HIV, and NYU Medical Center’s Rusk Institute of Rehabilitative Medicine. She is currently an Acupuncture Fellow at Beth Israel Medical Center.

Corinne is a Licensed Massage Therapist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is a DONA certified childbirth doula. Corinne earned a BA from Villanova University with a German Language major. She resides in New York City with her dogs Martini and Olive.

Seeking help for sore tight muscles from running, I discovered Akoya Acupuncture through a LifeBooker deal. Corinne was very professional and did a great job of performing trigger point acupuncture, which is pretty invasive but Corinne was a pro of talking to me through it. The next day I felt more energized and my runner’s knots were gone. Will def go back again.

Corinne is amazing! I had the worst trigger points for years and after a trigger point session with her I feel amazing. It was $ 100 for an hour session and worth every penny. I have been going for countless deep tissue massages and have been unable to get rid of my nasty trigger points but finally they are gone! Corinne is great and talks with you through the session which helps with the pain… Yes, it kind of hurts a little bit. I have a very high tolerance for pain but I think since the trigger points are so tight and contracted that it’s expected. Once they are released though u feel amazing and forget the whole process. Its a few weeks later and i still feel nice and loose in the areas she worked onI will definitely return when I am feeling tight again.

For whatever reasons, I was hesitant to see an acupuncturist for a long time. I eventually became comfortable with the idea and found Corinne. She quickly made a great first impression for acupuncturists everywhere. She spent a longer time with me assessing my needs, than almost any other health expert has spent with me. Also, she tweaked the program throughout based on my progress and my comfort.
I would recommend Corinne for anyone turning to acupuncture for the first time. Of course, I am sure she is also great for veteran patients, but I can only speak to my experience as a newbie.
