Americana is super easy to work with. I’ve sent plenty of friends, family, and coworkers to get tickets. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. If you need a suggestion they always have great ideas. KEEP IN MIND: some shows have discounts and some do not (this has nothing to do with Americana). You are charged a service fee. Sometimes this is still cheaper than the regular theater. If you are looking for reliable tickets and great advice go to Americana.

The manager of the hotel I was staying in offered to arrange for a ticket to see Kinky Boots. He said he was able to get the ticket at a considerable discount without the service fee. I told him I was not willing to pay more than $ 105 for a ticket, no service fee. I was very clear about this. While I am in the lobby, I can hear the hotel manager repeatedly saying, «i only want 1 ticket for «Kinky Boots». He must have said it at least three times. He says to me the ticket will be waiting at Americana Tickets and he held it with my card on file at the hotel. I was not pleasee with him giving my credit card number without my permission, but he assured me that I would not be charged until I got there. I go pick the tickets up and the guy brings me 2 tickets. The ticket had a face value of $ 55. I explained that I only asked for 1ticket. I give him my credit card to pay for the $ 55 ticket and he says it was already paid for. I ask for my receipt and he says he can’t give it to me because they charged my credit card for two tickets and they needed the receipt to issue my refund. So I get home to Chicago, check my bank balance and notice that I was charged $ 210 for two tickets with the face value of$ 55. Whenever I call and ask for the manager, everyone who answers the phone at Americana does whatever they can to keep me from talking to the manager. To top it off, my seat was in the very last row, second seat from the end. The show was wonderful, the experience was abysmal! Beware of this place! Everything about my experience tells me they are not on the up and up. I don’t care how long they’ve been in business.

We were in line for tkts when a gentleman informed us that we should go to Americana tickets. There wasn’t a line at all and Kristin and lea were so friendly. They were patient while we decided what show, offered advice, and were just super nice.

I ordered ticket on line for Book of Mormon. Selected specific tickets and received significantly inferior seats; paid $ 318 for a face cost of $ 169 plus a service fee of $ 89 plus delivery $ 15-​totally unsatisfied, will never use them again. BEWARE! there is a one liner in their page about reserving the right to make changes in seats if the seats you order are unavailable. The seats I ordered were good not great (best available) but the replacements sent were terrible.

Here is the response from Americana when I recieved my tickets and the facevalue was $ 57.00 but I was charged $ 80.00.

As we tried to explain over the phone, the issue here is twofold.
First, we are a licensed ticket broker that has been in business for well over 75 years. Selling tickets for above face value is perfectly legal, and we price our tickets based on market demand.
You purchased 2 tickets to Motown on Wed August 17. The price printed on the ticket itself, $ 57, does not reflect taxes, or our service fee. If you go to the theater, you will not be able to purchase a ticket to Motown for $ 57, or even $ 80, as that performance, like most when it comes to Motown, is almost sold out. We were able to acquire these tickets ahead of time and at a special rate due to our relationship with the theaters, and are able to sell them for a reasonable price when the show is closed to sold out, as is the case here.
It is not a scam, it’s how ticket brokers have been in business for all these years.
As for the additional $ 30 fee unfortunately that’s something that’s out of our hands. By purchasing tickets through a third party, they added on a fee (and that money does NOT come to us, it goes to whatever company or website you originally purchased the tickets from). We are the ticket holders, and we fill the orders as requested. It’s just the way the system works, and we try to advice our customers to only buy directly from the source.
When you were purchasing these tickets, you must have clicked on an agreement. You know, the fine print that nobody reads? That fine print indicated that you agreed to pay an additional service fee. Sneaky, perhaps, but unfortunately, it’s perfectly legal.
We, Americana Tickets, never charge any hidden fees. If you had purchased these tickets directly through us, you would have only paid $ 80 per ticket, total. (plus shipping, though we do offer a local pickup at no extra charge). WE NEVER charge more than what we promise our customers, and our prices are always reasonable.
You should know, however, that even with all the fees, you’re still paying considerably less for that show than you would by purchasing them from the theater, as it’s very nearly sold out.

So I’m planning on a trip to NY for my daughter’s high school graduation and one of the things she wanted to do was to see a Broadway show. So I searched the internet to find tickets to purchase orchestra tickets and they were all about the same, give or take a couple of bucks. I purchased orchestra tickets at $ 173 + $ 34.60 service fee per ticket AND $ 15 delivery fee (they did not offer etickets). Well, I got the tickets and the price on the tickets read $ 115! So I called Americana Tickets NY and spoke with I believe a person by the name of Eric and asked him why I had paid so much more. He told me I should have called them directly to purchase the tickets and if I did I wouldn’t of had to pay so much! Seriously? That’s how you talk to customers? Like how would I know? Very rude! If people like him represent NY, I wish I could cancel my vacation plans.

This place is a ripoff! We bought tickets for a show at around 3pm for a performance at 7pm and we paid a premium. Thought we were all done, just had to come back and pick them up. As we are walking in we received a phone call saying they didn’t have the tickets! So three hours later, we have no show to go to. So she offered to «help us» find a different show. Ended up paying a $ 120 premium over ticket window prices for their screw up! I don’t understand how with computers they could have not gotten our original tickets — unless someone else paid an even higher premium for «our» tickets. I would be careful with this place. Buy online from the theater or reputable website and pay the service fee. At least you will know what you have and that you actually have what you paid for.

Their representative lied and told me I got the last tickets and that’s why I was paying a premium. I went to other places after buying them and everyone else said there are plenty for sale at a lower cost.

Great tickets for Broadway shows. Good online service, good follow up customer service, and good prices. Tip: call them directly and negotiate prices.

Americana did a great job getting us tickets for the Stanley Cup Finals game at the Prudential Center. Excellent location, fair price and great service.
