Anastasia Brow Studio

I was apprehensive to come here because I live in NJ and it’s an expensive trip for eyebrows — excluding the cost of the eyebrows themselves, ($ 32 btw). Let me just say — every penny is worth it. Ladies — eyebrows MATTER and the women at Anastasia Brow Studio know what they’re doing. There are many reviews claiming that Emma is rude, (the middle aged blonde lady), however she is very talented and just busy. She knows what she’s doing, she just doesn’t have to time to talk. And I don’t either so I’m ok with that. Anyway, love this place so much. Definitley going to keep coming back!

Firstly, I’d like to say that the Anastasia Brow talent would get 5 stars, but the way the studios are run drops it down to 4.
The first time I got my eyebrows done up until now, I’ve gone to ABS (Anastasia Brow Studio) and have been in love with the results each time. I used to make a special trip up to the studio on 60/​Lex just for that. They work with your natural brow shape, don’t overpluck, use stencils to pencil in the shape, but also free-​hand well if you have a unique brow style. I LOVE her products as well, even met Anastasia in person and honestly love everything about her as a person and her brand. My eyebrows come out PERFECTLY each time I go, no complains on that aspect ever.
However– I would advise her to keep a closer eye on how the studios are run at Sephora. I used to go on the weekends, but according to the hours, they are now closed and on weekdays stay open only until 7:30. I work in the finance division, my hours are roughly 8am-​7pm ish give or take 30min. There is no way I will be able to get to my appointment on time. Secondly, everytime I have tried to call the studio on 5^th ave, no one ever responds! I get to voicemail every time. There is also no way of scheduling an appointment online. I would highly suggest the Sephora website either have a separate section for ABS or that Anastasia herself create a website that allows people to login and book appointments at certain hours or with certain people if Sephora/​ABS employees cannot answer the phone!
The one on 60^th/​Lex I haven’t gone to in months. Due to my work hours, I didn’t really make appointments and just showed up, which meant that I would have multiple people work on my brows and I loved each one of their unique handywork. One day when I showed up, two of the women who had done my brows got into a bit of an argument over whose «client» I was (to reiterate, I had not made an appointment, would just show up once every couple months for touch ups). It made me feel uncomfortable as I loved both of their work and didn’t mind who waxed me.
It’s nice that the total price of $ 32 includes wax, tweeze, color, tip and I didn’t mind paying the price – until now when the hours they have I can’t even make, and the people who work there never answer the phone!
Anastasia — love your work and your band, but the Sephora employees could use a little assistance in business etiquette.

I made an appointment and got Hasije to do my eyebrows. One look of pity from her was all I needed to know that my brows were, in fact, not on fleek. She was really informative in telling me where I overplucked and where the brow arches will be. Yes, she did use the standard Anastasia stencils. And yes, she helped me take a picture of the outline she drew.
The last time I got my brows waxed, I got a nasty allergic reaction, so I asked Hasije to tweeze at first. She suggested I tried the wax since it was super gentle. Sure enough, I barely had any redness after the wax (and it was pretty painless). She also filled in my brows.
The price may prevent people from the brow services but it’s totally worth the shaping and just basic knowledge. It’s different when a professional shows you v. you watching a YouTube video or reading an article. Also, these count towards your Beauty Insider account — extra incentives to get VIB Rouge?

Zero stars! After trying to grow out my thin brows, I wanted to splurge and treat myself. Made an appt for Emma based on «great» reviews and I regret it! She basically butchered my already thinly shaped brows leaving missing patches of hair underneath where the brow begins on both sides — see pic. She probably overwaxed and tried to even out. I was livid when she handed me the mirror. She even left stragglers that made the gaps look worse so I told her to fix. When I first sat down I explained to her Ive been using brow serum to grow my brows for over 6 months so not sure why she would think I wanted thinner brows! I should’ve known better when I saw her own thin penciled in brows! Thats always a sign!

Emma is incredible. Hard to schedule since the phone is off the hook constantly (the only reason it’s not 5 stars). Everyone walks out with amazing brows!

I LOVE Anastasia Brows! When I was in Beverly Hills it was my first time to get my brows done at Anastasia BH, and I absolutely loved it.
I live in NY so I was anxious to go to someone who does a great job! At the Beverly Hills location I was told to see LyudA in NYC — I’ve been seeing her ever since. I was seen by other women as well but the results are not the same. I believe eyebrows make up your face and in order to have great brows, you need to give this place a try!

My eyebrows look better than they ever have, thanks to Emma!!! Mind you, mine were more sparse than the hair on Trump’s head and uncommonly uneven. I typically stop by the $ 8 threading place, but since I was getting married, I decided to grow them out months in advance to be shaped properly. Unfortunately, I tried another eyebrow speciality boutique in my neighborhood that was more expensive, but the results left little to be happy about. Good thing my brows grew back enough for Emma to work her magic. She gave my brows the shape and evenness I never had before! I’ve gone back twice and each time have been impressed. My now husband, kept saying to me, «You look different! Really great! Something is different…» Great brows make a difference! Also, if you are allergic to waxes like I am, let Emma know, she used tweezers on me.
Note: It really is difficult to get a hold of the girls to make an appointment. Just leave your number, and they will eventually call back. If you don’t hear back within a day, keep calling. The store is inside the Sephora towards the left, and up the spiral staircase.

I’m only giving two stars because I would come back, HOWEVER only to see one of the other women mentioned in the other reviews. I had really been looking forward to coming to a specialized brow studio instead of my usual neighborhood $ 8 spots. I was splurging on a $ 32 wax/​shaping because I thought it would be worth it. I just left the Anastasia Brow Studio and I think this is maybe the second Unilocal review I’ve ever written. I’m so unhappy with the service that I received, I couldn’t not record it.
I called a few days ago and made a lunchtime appointment, failing to request one of the other girls listed (big mistake) because it sounded pretty hectic on the other side of the line and I figured because this is a specialized spot, it would be fine. I arrived on time and the woman sitting in the front, whom I assumed was the receptionist, coldly greeted me and asked me to take a seat. A few moments later she pointed at me, and then towards the chairs and motioned for me to follow her. As I sat down, I started to explain to her what I wanted, and she didn’t even acknowledge me. In fact, she didn’t speak to me at all while I was in the chair, except to tell me to stop talking because I was moving (talking to explain what I wanted). On both sides of me, I could hear the brow girls and their customers chatting and conversing. The woman to my left asked her girl to show her how to pencil in her eyebrows and the woman happily did so. Also, the other women seemed to be taking their time and paying close attention. My girl on the other hand, had me in and out of the chair within ten minutes. She was rude, cold, and rushed.
When it came time to pay, I planned on paying for the service on my card but I would have had to break a large bill for a tip. She was very snappy during my checkout process (which only included her taking my email for my Sephora points) that I had no intention of speaking to her any further. So I elected not asking her to break my bill and was not going to tip based on the service I just received. She glared at me harshly once I put my wallet away, realizing she wasn’t getting a tip. As someone who’s worked multiple retail and restaurant jobs, I usually tip around 25% as standard but I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
My eyebrows are fine. As my coworker just commented, «They look okay, but not like you just came from a brow studio.» She asked if I wanted them penciled in, I said yes, however they don’t appear to be at all. I did not get her name, but she was a middle age, blonde, white woman, whom I believe had an accent but I could not place it. If you’re planning on coming here, ask for any of the other women who have rave reviews or save your money.

There needs to be a complete overhaul here. They’ve gone from 10-​stars to 2 in the past several years. There’s no standard anymore, and it seems like inconsistent training is provided to the brow techs. There’s no quality control on their work. On my last visit, the tech didn’t even use the Anastasia brow stencils to shape my brows. I felt like I was in a dirty chair at the back of a neighborhood nail salon.
When the brow studio was open at the Times Square location, it was ran flawlessly and could’ve commanded a $ 50 flat fee as opposed to their $ 32. There was consistency across the board, and a standard of excellence unrivaled in Manhattan.

It was my first time getting my brows professionally groomed. Emma was fantastic. She was gentle yet precise. She even checked in periodically to make sure I was able to tolerate the slightest of discomfort. She was meticulous about making sure the shape was perfect. Very pleasant experience. I will definitely be a regular.

Phenomenal results! I was seen by Luda who was wonderful and very punctual. My eyebrows were uneven and looked so jagged. I really wasn’t expecting them to look so great. The whole experience was so relaxing. She really took her time and was very gentle. When she was done she had me look in the mirror prior to her using any product to fill in any gaps and even at that point my eyebrows looked 100% better. She then proceeded to use the brow powder to fill them in and all I can say is that my brows never looked better! It is so worth the $ 32. What I loved is that she didn’t product-​push at all after it was over. I did leave with the brow powder but that was my choice. Will definitely be returning!

I bring my girlfriend here all the way from NJ monthly just to get her eyebrows done by Hasije! She is the absolute nicest and does THE best eyebrows!

Made a last minute appointment and they squeezed me in on a Sunday afternoon. Left a message and they called me back within a half hour. My appointment was with Emma and she did an amazing job. I live in CA and have been to the Anastasia Beverly Hills flagship store where Anastasia herself works. Emma did a better job than the girls who work there, who charge $ 60, do. Ask for Emma!

My sister Janine is an eyebrow specialist for Anastasia in Florida and does fierce brows. Unfortunately for me I live in NY.
Fortunately I found my gem CANDICE in NY. I told her what I wanted, she gave me an «are you crazy» look but she made it happen. I get so many compliments on my brows. It’s not cheap but beauty costs $$$.

I wanted to grow my eyebrows fuller, so I decided to start coming here. They did not disappoint. I now have a full arch, thanks to Emma!
However, it is extremely difficult to reach them on the phone to schedule for an appointment. I have had better luck stopping by in person to make an appointment for later on in the week. I have not been able to do a walk-​in.

I used to have my eyebrows threaded for $ 5 a few streets away from my house for about 5 years. One day the very nice lady completely (mistakenly) threaded almost half my eyebrow off. I freaked out and never went back. My sister recommended Anastasia, so I waited about 6 months for my brow to somewhat grow back and I went to see Hasije. She worked miracles and I have NEVER done my eyebrows elsewhere. I know $ 32 must seem like a lot just for your eyebrows, but trust me… it’s completely worth it. They meticulously work for about 15 – 20 minutes on your eyebrows to make sure they properly shape them and take out every last piece of unwanted hair. Best part is I don’t have to go every 2 weeks to get them done because they grow back so much better now. I usually go every 2 months (believe me or not).
Side note: If Hasije isn’t there or on vacation, I recommend Emma. She’s fantastic too!

I judge people’s eyebrows silently on the daily.
They do indeed use stencils, which is not as strange as I first thought it was. Emma is giving me great guidance of where I need to grow em out a bit and in the meantime am filling in with one of their brow pencils. Not as obvious as I thought it’d look either! Highly recommend if you’re having to grow out a bit too!
See Emma. She’s extremely meticulous and does not rush in her process. You’re in good hands, promise.

Yes, it’s pricey compared to the $ 8 threading I used to get…
Here are the reasons I splurge for Anastasia:
1. Consistency
Because they use the stencils, I’ve ALWAYS left completely satisfied and happy with the shape of my brows. I no longer have to seek out the most talented or perfect employee.
2. Stencils
I first saw Anastasia on some day time talk show and was really impressed with the results. I really love the stencil shape for my face and think whatever formula Anastasia came up with works! I get complimented a lot on the shape.
3. They can wax or tweeze. Tip: it’ll be cleaner if you wax. However, because I occasionally use retin-​a micro on my face, I need to tweeze and the Anastasia ladies have always done a clean, precise job!
At least I get more sephora member points for the extra $ I spend?
They do accept walkins but I HIGHLY suggest just calling ahead and making an appt. They have been very busy every time I’ve gone.

Ask for Emma. She is best. They charge $ 32 for eyebrows, which is a lot, but eyebrows are too important to trust them to anyone. They use the Anastasia technique, and shape your brows perfectly, using a stencil. They trip and shape them to perfection. I will not go anywhere else. And, because this one is inside te Sephora, you get Sephora points that count toward free makeup. It’s a win-​win!

I went around the holidays, to my usual person, Alla. Granted I did not have an appointment but the receptionist, Giselle, suggested to sit and wait if her customer doesn’t arrive, then she might take me. I waited for 40 minutes. After 40 mins, Alla, saw me and didn’t greet me, she had her arms up in the air, saying «I don’t have time.» So rude and she made me feel uncomfortable. I don’t know if it was the stress of the holidays, but there is no reason for that kind of behavior. She could have said that without getting so bent out of shape. I had a generous tip, I knew that it was last minute. I just walked away.
I mean come on its eyebrows! What a waste of time. Plus I have been going to her for awhile now. Such a shame that people act that way.
