Anthony Liquors

Went in here to buy a bottle of wine as a Christmas present. The guy with glasses highly recommended a $ 30 bottle of Italian red so I bought two, one as the gift and one for myself to enjoy. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT! I’ve had $ 10 bottles that tasted better!
Don’t go there unless you want bad wine at high prices.

Very expensive then any neighborhood store and top of that when you give them credit card their machine is not working,

Psychotic owner. Terrible customer service. Broken English.

My partner and I (myself on crutches and with a boot on my foot) were racially profiled in this store. My partner and I are both African American, which does not mean necessarily that we were going to be profiled, however, in this case, we were. One person behind the counter said nothing to us as we walked in, the other, followed us between the two aisles (a very small store) and stepped behind us the moment we touched a bottle. Feeling harassed we left, and watched as 6 other customers walked in and shopped without incident. When confronted the staff persons raised their voices, denying their racial profiling eventually laughing it away. We told them we planned to tell others, report them and steer business toward establishments that do not racially profile their customers. I would put zero stars if it were possible.

As stated below, this place is wonderful solely for its hours of operation. I only come here when I’m desperate and won’t make it to the warehouse (on Bway near Waverly) in time before closing.
1 man runs the shop here, keeps late hours, and does not take Amex. Poo.

This is a fine neighborhood alcohol stop, but it’s not perfect — here’s why:
PROS:
Strong selection of (pricey) wine with new ones rotated in fairly often
Open LATE! any liquor store open until 9pm in this neighborhood has no other competition
Simple service, never a wait
Big liquor selection of popular and lesser known brands
CONS:
Wines don’t go on special, which happens in other local shops
Over-​priced
No credit cards under $ 20, which is normal in the neighborhood but sucks when I want one bottle of cheap wine (although now, you know, you really HAVE to get two — almost a pro…)

Great location and great hours! I think they deliver also!!!
I agree the selection could be better, but for a great everyday or a get together apartment party wine it is a very good place!!!

The selection isn’t great, customer service is non-​existent, and the prices are a little on the high side.
But…
…they’re open until like 10:30 or something ridiculous like that. You know those occasions when you get way too drunk on Thursday? When you show up to work on Friday looking like death warmed over and your coworkers make derisive comments about how you smell like the Jameson Distillery? When you somehow survive the day, but the idea of going back to the bar makes you throw up in your mouth a little bit? But then after watching like two hours of Whale Wars while lying on the couch you realize that a cocktail or two might actually make you feel better, but the only booze in the apartment is that disgusting bottle of Ron Rico one of your jerkoff friends brought to a party like three months ago and every liquor store you know is closed? Well at that moment, there’s Anthony. And for that, you get four stars.

I like this shop, too bad it’s a commitment for me to make it a neighborhood stop (like I want to sit out front with the bagged bottle and get liquored before I walk home…) I can appreciate the resonable prices, selection and they have a decent selection of sake which I pick up every time I’m in.

Every Friday, my roommate goes here after work to get bombed for the weekend. It’s a great liquor store, clean, and a reasonable selection of wine. If your face still looks younger than you feel, they tend to card here, so come prepared.
