Archer Hotel New York

can’t believe i didn’t review this place sooner, well better late than never. I came here for a girls weekend with my sorority sisters to celebrate my 30^th birthday. The hotel is quite and amazing. Rooms are small like you’d imagine but the price is great and location is not bad if you’re going to stay in the area. The staff was top notch, they delivered treats to our room each night with a different birthday card from a staff member, they even sent us a bottle of wine. the rooftop bar was quite (we were there during a snow storm) so we virtually had it to ourselves… the drinks were expensive but it was a great way to start each night before we headed out on the town. Only wish i would’ve sprung for a higher floor room (its only like $ 10 more a night) and got a view of the empire state building.

Trendy and hip from the web to curb appeal and into the main lobby and bar. Sadly, it was down hill from there for this traveling wilbury. Despite having impeccable staff, these tiny rooms leave much to be desired for those not wishing to spend their temporary stay in an ant farm configuration.
Not only was there nothing like my room represented on the website, I arrived to find my floor stripped down to drywall with paper slips taped to the doors for identification. Not so much as a mention of this prior to, during or after my stay, nor recognition of any courtesy on room rate.
The bed slept comfortably, if you prefer waking up wrapped like a mummy. No fitted sheets, complete with no recognition of our request for such, leaves a LOT to be desired in a «premium» accommodation.
Ultimately a very disappointing experience, one that I won’t be repeating again.

If I could submit more stars, I would. I absolutely loved our stay at the Archer. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by an amazing staff that made our stay one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had. My boyfriend, mother and 6 year old daughter will all agree. The décor is warm and cozy. The rooms are spotless. Our room had a view of the Empire State Building, through floor to ceiling windows. I keep reading that the rooms are small but I have come to expect that from rooms in NYC. We have stayed in the city many times and the rooms, on average, are not very sizable. That being said, the rooms at the Archer were cozy and comfortable. Turn down service included a new sweet sampling from the kitchen, which was delightful. The location was perfect, close enough to the important sites of Midtown. One block from Bryant Park, a nice walk to Grand Central and Rockefeller.
I will be staying at the Archer again, without a doubt. If you want to be treated like your patronage matters, I suggest you book here as well.

Stayed at the Archer on a business trip since my company headquarters is a few blocks away. Staff was responsive and pleasant. Nice touches included the fresh coffee in the lobby, complimentary passes to the NY Athletic Club and peanut brittle. I highly recommend the old fashion in the lobby bar!

This review is solely for Paul. Paul is a very sweet man and he makes everybody feel welcome. A true asset to the hotel.

Came here for my daughter’s birthday and they made every night special. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, great service along with with a fantastic in house restaurant and sky bar. We’ll be back.

I’ve stayed at the archer hotel, NYC twice this year. Their service is top-​notch. The hotel is beautiful. It has the perfect mix of modern & New York City boutique hotel charm, with a hint of industrial edge. The location is fantastic. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. They will give you a tour of your room upon check-​in. The views of the Empire State Building from the rooms as well as the spy glass rooftop are fantastic. I highly recommend it. Clean. Spacious (for New York) and beautiful bathrooms. Great lighting. Thoughtful artwork. Every piece of the design was though out. Convenient. I am very happy with the the aesthetics as well as the management of the archer. Complimentary water bottles and nespressos in every room.

I won a trip to New York from Fossil for NYFW, and fittingly they put me up at the Archer Hotel in the Garment District. The hotel is beautiful, a modern oasis in the middle of a historic neighborhood in Manhattan, and the staff are all very nice, hospitable people.
My room was a double, a bit small but not uncomfortably so, and quite cozy. The bathroom had a vintage feel, with black and white tiled floors and white subway tiled walls with a modern, standing shower and dark wood and marble. I was on the 8^th floor, so I didn’t have a view of the Empire State Building, unfortunately, but clear views of it are a few floors up at the Spyglass Bar on the 22^nd floor.
Apparently the snacks and the minibar have some sort of sensors that can detect when they’ve been moved, so I avoided those just to be sure I didn’t wind up with a «you breathed too close to these so we charged you for them» type of charge on my bill when I checked out. I did take advantage of room service, which was ridiculously expensive (seriously, $ 30 for rigatoni in a simple marinara sauce with cheese), but I figured this was a once in a lifetime experience so why not splurge on something I’d normally think was stupid to pay that much for.
I wasn’t impressed with the cleaning staff here, unfortunately; I noticed that the bathroom received the least attention from the maids, because face wash from my morning cleaning routine was still in the sink at the end of the night, and the floor needed to be cleaned, or rather, swept. The staff will come in during the evening to turn down your beds and leave a couple of complimentary treats on the desk, but it was a bit awkward when I walked in on my maid and had to wait for him to finish up before I went back in my room. I also noticed the sheets on the bed hadn’t been changed after my first night there. Also strange was that despite the fact that the rooms were very modern and sharp, as was the hotel as a whole, the hallways and elevators had a strange, unfinished, somewhat outdated feel that didn’t quite match the rest of the hotel.
The experience at the Archer was overall very nice, but when I came home and checked my bank account balance online, I noticed that they were attempting to charge me for the cost of the room even though that was Fossil’s responsibility. Turns out there was a mixup with the credit cards attached to my room, and Archer decided to charge me since they couldn’t charge Fossil’s card. A couple days and nearly $ 900 later I got my refund, but I wouldn’t have been aware they were charging me had I not noticed it on my statement.
I think I’d probably stay at Archer again, but I’d pay extra for a view of the Empire State Building and expect better service from the maids. Also, take advantage of the computers downstairs to check in at the airport and print out your boarding passes before flying home — such a nice convenience.

We had a great time at the Archer. The rooms were small but well appointed and exceptionally clean.
The service was excellent, especially Paul, the person who helped with our bags and then seemed to always be there with a smile and greeting at all hours of the day or night.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Albeit, our corporate rate was the only reason I did manage to book this hotel. The best parts? There were several: then espresso coffee maker with three coffee selection, the turn down service Snack each night, the cool slippers, the in-​room robes, the views of the Empire State Building, or the rooftop bar and it’s incredible staff? A super great option in midtown!

Came to the Archer Hotel for a unique hotel experience to a Bachelorette Party and wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. The atmosphere, décor and staff of Archer are one of a kind, which is actually hard to find in NYC. Modern industrial style with a pop of color, glamorous to be sure.
There was mix up with the parking, as their garage was going to be blocked off during the Dominique Day Parade, and the double room I booked was overbooked. It added some stress to the check in process, but it didn’t last long. The staff was kind enough to walk me through finding a local parking garage with similar rates, and then upgraded our room. On top of that they sent up 2 bottles of champagne to the room to thank me for my patience and understanding. It was a great way to start off our evening.
The rooms are small, typical with NYC hotels, but the design and details are amazing. From treats in the room, soft pillows, to the reading selections from the staff (which as a librarian made me squeal with joy), to the artwork that I would love to take home with me, and the subway titled bathroom with impeccable lighting (perfect for makeup application).
Definitely check out the rooftop bar. The Empire State Building is so close you can can touch it, and the Chrysler building isn’t too far away either. My only regret is that I didn’t get to taste their food, which I heard is delightful.

Review of the Bars!
Stumbled upon the rooftop bar, looking tragically unglamorous after getting caught in a rain shower. It was a bit uncomfortable as we first walked into the buildings and a group of ladies in the outside patio area stared at us with horror. Being the cheerful fellas we are, we laughed it off. Once inside, The space was super small however, the view was fantastic and it had access to an outside area. The bar tenders were nice.
The bar in the main lobby is small but there’s couches near by! First time here was during a parade so it was crowded but not horrible at all. The bar tenders were also nice. I loved how cool they were with the festivities of the day. People were very festive and lively but for the most part everyone seemed pretty relaxed.
So far this place has been pretty awesome!

Super clean and located in a convenient spot near midtown. The hotel is located on 38^th and 6^th ave– easy to get around. The service is super friendly!
The hotel rooms are kind of small but it is NYC so what do you expect. The rooms are clean and some of the rooms have high ceilings which made the room feel bigger. We got two rooms because there was 6 of us. The first room was on the 20^th floor and had an AWESOME view of the empire state building. The second room was on the 15^th floor and had high ceilings. They give you free fiji water and chocolate. Highlight of the room: free mustache slippers :) The bathroom is clean and well lit. Kind of small too but like I said before it’s NYC so it’s okay.
The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good too but I will review the place separately. Look up David Burke fabrick.
Overall I enjoyed my stay here and would def consider coming back here if I was ever in town again! Bonus: The rooftop bar has amazing views of the empire state building!

If you’re looking for a great boutique hotel in Midtown Manhattan, go no further. It’s has a great atmosphere, really friendly staff for whom nothing is a problem, and a great restaurant.
The real hit was the rooftop bar with a magnificent view of the Empire State Building at night.

I was so impressed during our 3-​night stay at The Archer. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and fully taken care of by the staff. They were so kind and thoughtful from the smallest things (pushing the button on the elevator), to dinner recommendations, booking me a taxi, etc.
The hotel has a nice atmosphere. Like any NYC hotel, the rooms are small, but the Archer maximizes space well– room under the bed for bags, sliding bathroom door, etc. The décor in the room was non-​traditional and funky. There was a large TV, Nespresso, reading lights by the bed, universal chargers, and even a copy of The Little Prince tucked behind the TV. What a cute touch. Every night when we turned in, there was a note and a little sweet waiting for us.
The restaurant at the hotel is very nice and the rooftop bar has a killer view. I would highly recommend The Archer for anyone’s NYC trip, especially couples traveling together (the room may be a little small for a family). We will be back!
I had to make an update to this review because customer service from The Archer’s team extended after I was home from our vacation. They contacted my boyfriend via email because he had left a dress shirt on a hanger in the room and offered to mail it back to him. I was surprised that we were contacted at all and especially because they were going to ship it for free. When we got the package, the shirt was wrapped in nice paper and there was a little bag filled with salted caramels, shortbread cookies, and hand dipped chocolate covered pretzels. All of the treats were from local New York spots. I was so blown away by how they go above and beyond. Way to go!

Stayed here for a stay-​cation — not much to complain about. This is a business oriented hotel so the rooms are small, but the amenities make up for it.
Pros:
— The bathroom is by far the best part of the room — the rainbath shower is so relaxing, as is the peppermint shampoo and herbal soaps they give you. The counter space and lighting in the bathroom is great for women (relating it to myself, sorry) putting on makeup and doing their hair.
— The room also comes with a Nespresso which I wish I didn’t go so heavy on because the beds are very comfy. Would have gotten a better night’s sleep if I wasn’t jacked up on caffeine.
The only complaints I have with this hotel are:
Cons:
— I got a room that looks into an office building that has honestly, miserably looking workers. While watching TV that night, I couldn’t help but look over every once and a while at the guy working in his office across from my room. He literally was there until like 10. I left for dinner at the downstairs restaurant (also awesome) and came back and he was still churning away with a scowl on his face. I felt bad for him. Guy across the street, I felt your pain.
— The air conditioning/​heat unit is super loud. I am used to sleeping with a fan on so it didn’t bother me too much. At least I couldn’t hear the streets below. Perhaps that’s why they have these units in each of the rooms.

Went to Fabrick for dinner with my girlfriends before a show. We were able to get a same day reservation during what is a busy pre-​show dinner rush. We were seated immediately by the hostess who was wearing the most killer white jumpsuit! I was already sold. The evening only got better, our waiter was prompt, helpful, and attentive without being pretentious. When we ordered the lobster dumplings for our table of four, he informed us that it only came with 3 dumplings and offered to throw in an extra one so that everyone could have one. Major bonus points right there!
For apps we ordered the avocado panda cotta which was a heavenly version of chips and salsa. The avocado was so smooth and delicious. This was beautifully coupled to the lobster dumplings which were fantastic! I ordered the kale and endive salad which was amazing, it’s citrus dressing was light. I also couldn’t help but order a side of brussel sprouts which were savory with a hint of sweetness from the apples they were baked with. Very yummy!
This place was stellar, would highly recommend and you’re best off making a reservation.

Archer is the epitome of a boutique hotel. Due to its convenient location (approximately 7 minute walk from Penn Station), I spent a night here a month or so back. It is modern, clean and provides an array of amenities to make their guests comfortable including a Nespresso Machine, Malin & Goetz toiletries, frette bathrobes, Burke in the box room service, etc. It was also Christmas time when I visited The Archer Hotel and there were picture books in the room. One was «A Very New York Christmas» — so charming.
My complaints are similar to other Unilocalers. The floor noise (I mean bloody murder screaming and there seemed to be no intervening by the front desk/​management) and the room size. I’ve stayed in quite a few NYC hotels and this is among the smallest. Even the «king sized» rooms are less than 200 sq feet.
My advice: A one to two night stay — Archer’s gotcha covered comfortably! But if you’re planning a longer stay in the Big Apple, check out Archer’s Den (similar to a suite) or look elsewhere.

This is a new midtown hotel that has fairly priced rooms.
The good:
–Prices are fair
–Everything is nice and new
–Beds are comfortable
–They do turndown and leave delicious gelees
–Free wifi
–Cool roof bar
–Free gym pass to NYSC
–Malin and Goetz bathroom products
–Charger in room for any device you might have!
The bad:
–The line for the roof bar
–The incredibly slow and over crowded elevators
–The mediocre food for breakfast at the restaurant
–If you loose a key they reprogram all keys, which is very annoying if there is more than one person staying in the room
–Loud hallways, we felt like we could hear everything in the morning
–Tiny, tiny rooms
Overall it’s a good hotel with a central location. I would stay here again.

Archer Hotel, how swanky are thee? Let me count the ways…
Only open for a couple of months, this boutique hotel is beautifully designed, airy, light and staffed by genuinely kind people who make your stay a delight. My cousin was keeping a King room here while opening his third restaurant in NYC. On two occasions during my recent visit home, we stayed while he enjoyed family time.
The Lobby is loft inspired with vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light which makes it open, spacious and inviting. Chris at the Bugatti Bar is an excellent mixologist, David Burke’s fabrick is a stellar restaurant and the Spyglass rooftop bar is a perfect spot to enjoy stunning views and sip craft cocktails. Since it is small, it is not as grand as Hotel Pierre, Waldorf Astoria, The Mark or Four Seasons it is also not as spendy!
The rooms are small, like most in NY, but the use and design of space is genius and they are luxuriously appointed from bedding to your choice of pillow firmness. We kept finding drawers (under the bed) outlets for smart devices, a portion of minibar has separate fridge for your use, Nespresso Bar, books to read, Frette robes, towels and slippers and local apothecary product. The view of the Empire State Building from the room was breathtaking, and I’m a native New Yorker. AC/​thermostat kept room as we like and the window opened for fresh air.
Centrally located in the Garment District and close to Bryant Park, Herald Square, 5^th Avenue, MSG, Times Square, Broadway, the Library and subways, I will absolutely stay here again when I’m
back in a few months. Ask for a room with a view and gaze at the Empire State Building in awe!
