I don’t know what this place serves but they sure as hell aren’t New York bagels. They are drier and have less taste than a Lender’s. Go anywhere else, seriously.

A health department nightmare! Stay away if you value your health.

I moved to the area a few months ago and find myself going here 1 – 2 times a week, generally for breakfast wraps(Turkey Spinach Egg & Cheddar… so good) and deli sandwiches. Service is pretty quick, prices are okay, and the food is pretty good!

This place sucks. The staff changed and their food and it’s quality went down considerably. Consistently messed up so many orders that I gave up ordering from here altogether. My last food order from here involved an egg based dish that came with shards of eggshell. One time a co-worker stopped in for a salmon-based sandwich and ended up taking it back AND they refunded her money as they admitted that it had gone bad. Now to top it off a co-worker and I stopped here in a rush and bought identically prepared ice coffees without sugar and a splash of milk. We had not eaten anything that day and he got sick with diarrhea all day. Seals the deal for me: Never again… not even as a last resort.

Bagels are brought in and heated up as if they were fresh, not a true bagel place. Constantly this place has messed up my orders and argued about it. When they fix things they scrape off and use the same bagels.

Never again. I’ll go without a bagel. Pretty sure the bagel I had was from the previous day and they barely put cream cheese on the bagel. Didn’t look like it was the cleanest place at all and the«salads» they had for sandwiches looked like they had already been sitting out for several hours. Stay away!

$ 3.25 for a dried out bagel with barely a shmeer on it. The place is dingy, the employees surly to the point of rudeness… and the bagels stale and pricey. Go elsewhere.

I’m a native New York Jew(lived in the NY area for close to 30 years), and was all excited on my most recent visit to New York with a non-New Yorker to show off the beauty of the New York bagel. We didn’t have a whole lot of time but this bagel store was on the way to where we were going, so I thought it’d be a good choice. The ratings were decent, and really? even the bagels from average bagel places are better than what they call bagels in Colorado(where I currently live), so what was there to lose?. Oh, there was so much to lose! Because the bagels we had were about on par with the bagel place I always make fun of in Colorado. That is, they looked like bagels, they even smelled like bagels, but they did NOT taste like bagels. A good bagel should have flavor unto itself(yes, even the plain ones). These did not. They tasted like white bread. It’s possible, of course, that we just came on an off day, or something. I’ll grant that. But regardless, this place wins the award for the absolute worst bagel I’ve ever had in New York.

«Ethnicities» for $ 400 — Mathematics — Oppressive parenting — Career-related guilt — Bagels & More What is… Jewish/Asian fusion? I have no idea how a place that sells fried chicken, cream cheese and smoothies is Jewish or Asian, but I’m not one to argue with a sign. The food here was solid and the selection was good for the size of the store. While I was here, a homeless dude walked in, took two drinks out of the fridge case, and walked out without saying a word. The guys working here were so stunned that they didn’t even stop him. I would have liked to think the Jewish part of the fusion would be braver than that.

I order breakfast and juices/smoothies frequently from here. The counter and delivery services are fast and efficient. The all-green breakfast smoothie is delicious; and, the green juice is also tasty. Their bagels are toasted just right, and not too doughy. I usually get egg/cheese or egg whites on toast(all good); but, my partner gets toasted bagels with low-fat veggie cream cheese and loves how fresh it is. The ice coffee is also good and not too bitter. Service at the counter can be a bit brusk; but, all the employees are nice when you take time to chat with them. The prices are also great for this neighborhood. Juices here are cheaper than at the neighboring health food store, and breakfast sandwiches are also cheaper than at the few neighboring corner delis located w/in a block of here. We have also ordered custom salads here before at about ½ the price of the Western gourmet market across the street. They are also delicious. This place accepts credit cards too.

It’s hard to pass up Donut Pub when in this area(right across the street), and I’m sure the owner knows this is something that a lot of people will have a hard time doing, but I forced myself into Bagels & More and I definitely don’t regret doing so. The bagels and various cream cheeses were fresh, the coffee was hot, and the prices are very inexpensive, so it’s hard to find a drawback with this place, outside of its unfortunate proximity to a true NYC institution. It’s a 24-hour joint too, so depending on how much alcohol was consumed prior to the walk back to the PATH at 4AM, it’ll either be Bagels & More or Donut Pub to assist in keeping me awake long enough to get back across the river without waking up in Newark. I’ll have to flip a coin… It’s nice to have these kinds of options. Maybe both?
