Bakery On 3rd Cafe

Their coffee is cheap and good. 1 dollar for a cup of hot coffee, 2 dollars for a regular cup of coffee, and 2 dollars for a cup of iced regular coffee; these prices are a bit hard to beat considering gentrification in the area. Their dessert selection is pretty good. They have a lot of typical cakes like red velvet and some classic spanish desserts like tres leche and pastries with guava paste. Their desserts are decent. I’ve had their red velvet and found it to be dry and their tres leche is not the BEST, but it’s good if you have a sweet tooth to fulfill. This bakery also makes some super fancy looking cakes with the use of fondant. Check out their display, it looks awesome!
The service is slow as workers take their time. Whenever I see a line of even just four people, I keep it moving and I have observed others do the same, which is unfortunate because this place is missing out on some money.

If you’re about to ordering a Special Cake…, and you MUST read this…
I was looking for a Sweet 16 custom cake for my daughter, I have been to different bakeries, and I decided to order from this bakery, because my daughter and I tried their chocolate and vanilla cake and it was delicious. So, I decided to order a 3 tier cake, I showed pictures of a cake that I saw online, and I gave some of my own ideas for the cake. The cake itself turned out beautiful, elegant, and exactly what was on my mind.
But, the writing turned out to be a NIGHTMARE. I told them I want my daughter’s name on the second layer of the cake, but the baker put in on the 3^rd layer and adding the word «on the second layer» on the cake. In addition, the writing skills itself looks like a kindergartener wrote on it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???, the cake cost me $ 375.
Maybe you might want to question me; Why I did not check before I left the shop, because the box was taped all over the top, and the lady said that she took pictures of the cake, and the picture that she showed me did not show the writing. In addition, I need to mention that there’s no handle on the box to hold and the box is quite slippery when you carry it.
I went back to the shop next day, and told the young lady at the front and shown her the cake picture, she apologized for this mistake. She told me because the baker only understood Spanish.
I know that it is too late to make any correction, but I hope the owner would be more cautious and have someone to check before it after it’s done. I also think that the cake box they provided should be better looking because it can affect their business presentation.

When you have a special spot near home it’s hard to share. This cozy café has so much decadent deserts I want to visit every day. The employees are patient with my taking photos and asking questions all the time.
There is a small comfortable counter. Very small! A table in the back. Narrow space getting in and out. It’s best to go early or take out.
They are open seven days a week from 6am to 9:30 pm. Hard working business. You can order cakes or select one on the spot. They have cupcakes, cookies, cannoli, cheesecake. I thought I died and went to heaven…
Check out my photos and their web site. If you’re up early you may run in to me some morning. I admit I haven’t made a special cake order. I would forget the negative reviews and try for yourself. It’s all good to me!

Garbage. Pure rudeness, nasty unsatisfied «employees» with no manners. Seems that wolves raised them. The owner never supervises them, and not only the employees, but their REGULAR customers are as trashy as the place. I would never take my cat to eat off their place, let alone would ever recommend this place to any educated, well mannered person. Ugh!!!

My family happened upon this bakery and what a find!!! I ordered the pineapple slice and it was the most delicious cake that I’ve ever eaten. I will revisit this bakery frequently!
The only down side, the clerk wasn’t quite as helpful or friendly as I would have liked. She wasn’t rude but we asked her advise on what she would recommend or what the bakery was known for and she was silent.
A patron in the bakery was extremely helpful.
I plan on ordering a cake to just celebrate finding this bakery. What a gem!!!

The cheese cake is deelish! I am not a huge tres leches cake fan but damn I am now if it comes from this awesome bakery

I was looking for an inexpensive tiramisu cake for my sister’s birthday and I found this bakery shop, which is called Bakery on 3^rd. When I went inside, the place looks like a bit empty, but it needs to have that typical bakery shop quality.
there are less selections of pastries in this bakery shop like cookies, slices of chocolate carrot, and red velvet cakes, slices of cheesecakes, Flan, Tres Leches, and pudding. However, They don’t have Cannoli and it saids Cannoli on the chalkboard menu, WTH!!.
Then, their cakes, it looks like they tried so hard to have that Cake Boss type, but it’s too amateurish in my POV. I was looking for a tiramisu cake, but they don’t have that. Wha wha whaaaaaaaaaaa… It only haves chocolate, vanilla, pineapple, and red velvet.
This bakery shop is ok but it’s not like Maison Kayser and Martha’s bakery. It has poor selections of pastries and their cakes look messed up even the ambient of this bakery shop haves less character.

Got a cake here for $ 15. Half of it fed about 8 people. It was delicious. Their cookies are also amazing. It’s a cute little spot that is pretty inexpensive. Will probably go back next time I need a cake.

OMG, How can I say what words cannot express. My first wedding and my first wedding cake for that matter. Javier the owner was so accomodating and thoughtful. He «knocked this cake out of the Ball park», my guests were talking about this cake a week after and I was still eating this cake 4 days after and it taste just as good as the first day when it was straight out of the oven. So much so that I had to tell Javier to please give it a name so that when I refer my friends who were so overwelmling pleased that they should ask for the «katherine cake» because they want the same ingredients that he used to make my cake for their next specail event.
Now lets talk about the man behind the cake, Javier. He was accommodating, thoughful, and made suggestions that were in my best interest not his. My party was not huge and I come from humble means but nothing lacked in quality, care or and nothing was compromised. He is kind, considerate and affordable.
Thank you Javier for making my wedding day special by providing me with the cake of my dreams!!!

The cakes are a hit or miss… the first cake I bought, it was excellent. The 2^nd cake I bought. it was kind of dry, like if it was over baked…
Also their cake selection varies… I was hoping to pick up an 8″ Oreo cake but there were none available. I guess I should have ordered it. Also, if you order it, it’s a little more expensive…(just 3 $ more for the 8″)
The workers do take their time working…

This Bakery did my Wedding Cake. The Cake turned out better then I thought it would. I gave them a picture of a Cake that I saw online. They duplicated the Cake exactly. The only negative comment for me is that my husband’s initial had been partially smudged in transit. Everything else about the cake was fine. I would recommend that they are more careful when hiring someone to deliver a wedding cake.

Cute little spot to grab an espresso and a fresh cannoli or slice of cheesecake. Great addition to the neighborhood!
Also, breakfast until 3pm with fruit smoothies and pancakes… So delicious!
