History

Established in 2001.

Bark Place NYC was founded in 2001 with our first store on 72nd street. Our flagship then moved around the corner to 1st Avenue between 73rd and 74th. Over the years, we have set up two more great salons (450 E. 81st Street and 125 E. 88th Street).

My little Toy Poodle looks adorable after coming here for his first hair cut. He’s like a new puppy!
He seemed to really like the groomers and I’m just surprised they managed such a good cut when he’s such a wiggly little worm.

I have used two locations for Bark Place and I am thrilled that the groomers know how to handle standard poodle show dogs.
All groomers have been completely courteous and professional and if I ask them to do something extra they will do it. when I book an appointment I ask for specific time frames and they generally accommodate.
The locations are extremely convenient. Since I own two standard poodles and they don’t want to be apart I take them both for grooming at the same time and they are both happy go lucky., ask them to put bows in their hair and they do… they come out smelling and looking beautiful…

The groomer is knowledgeable and she really cares about the dogs. I loved the pink hair dye on one of the dogs that was just leaving, all done up like a princess! Quiet, private, clean place for your dog to be groomed.

Our dog Oscar is becoming a regular… he’s always so shiny, soft, and happy when we pick him up! The staff is very friendly and always lets us know how his appointment went :)

Took my 8 month old Morkie in for a groom and I could not be happier. Stephanie groomed my dog and did it exactly the way I asked. She made me feel comfortable leaving my dog, something I can’t say for Petco, where I’ve been going for the past few months. I love that you can see them groom the dogs as you walk by. Jane, the owner, was also very courteous; I liked how she sent a confirmation/​welcome email and then a follow up email after the visit. Overall an A+, we will be back!

Took my Pomapoo for a grooming today, completely satisfied with the results. She has a very blended look for her breed, and it’s always difficult to find a «style» for her, but the groomer (kevin I believe?) used his skill to give her a very cute and fitting cut. He was very professional and personable, and my dog was quite comfortable with him. Definitely will be back

Stopped in because my dog was scooting badly. I was greeted in a friendly and helpful manner and my dog was attended to quickly. I was able to watch the groomer work, which I much prefer over having my dog taken to the back somewhere. Overall a very positive experience and I recommend!
