Good service.
Good or bad décor and shopping atmosphere, depending on your taste.
Personally, I find the décor of this store pretty undesirable and don’t think I’ll come here again because I don’t find it pleasant to shop in this environment. It’s like you’re in a big metal box… or something.
However, I received really great service from a guy who worked there, as well as good service from other associates there.

Service is always great at this store, but I find the selection to be a little off-​putting. Maybe I’m just not adventurous enough in my tastes. Anyways, though I prefer the midtown actual-​Barneys Barneys, we come here quite a bit because it’s close by. Last time, the Mister got a suit and said that we would pick it up (being afraid of damage in transit). Strangely, after alterations, it showed up at our door. I don’t know if I’m impressed, or irritated.

I treated myself to some nice NYC souvenirs from here at the warehouse portion. Their names are Lanvin and Yohji (ouch for my wallet). Lanvin shoes were still in their blue box with the satin ribbon — I think most of the Lanvin come with dust bags and the box. They had a lot of shoes, but I think most of them were already sorted through since we came on the second to last day.
Everything was 60% off and any damaged goods were 75%. Tip: Haggle with the guy in charge of the discounts on damaged goods. The discount guy was only going to give me 10% more for an imperfection in the leather but he pointed out there was no belt so instead I got 75%! I didn’t even notice because if there was a belt since I wouldn’t wear it anyway (I think these are one of the jackets where the belt loops is for the look, not an actual belt).
The workers here are nice but I had to come back the next day since they didn’t take off the security tag off my jacket! However, they were really sweet about it the next day — the lady recognized me and said, «Hey you were the one trying on the jacket over there from yesterday» and she vented for me how stupid the cashiers were not to tag off and called them idiots. Great and memorable experience and I didn’t have to vent for myself!

I don’t know why I don’t tell people NO to coming to the Warehouse sale — who am I kidding here?
I am just playing myself — I can’t shop in these sort of conditions.
I must shop in well-​organized and well-​merchandise stores — this is beyond crazy.
I couldn’t find crap here, not even shoes!
Shoes are at least less crazy, but the shoes here were crap!
They seriously look like they have been worn and beat up.
Their sales has come down throughout the years — TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT!
Just come here when it’s NON WAREHOUSE DAYS!

Im in there every big sale & holiday season. Its pretty much like a lifestyle shopping experience because all types of things are there and on sale! Even though its fashion buyers euphoria, id say go in there dressed very relaxed to maximize your shopping experience. Obviously due to mark downs/​special sales or events the store can get really chaotic, but for the labels and luxe at those prices. I will gladly just deal with it. I love it here a ridiculous selection of shoes, evening gowns, and accesories. Constant good quality if you know how to shop. Some items come out first day of sale and thats it, for that piece or line, sometimes if something doesnt sell fast, it gets marked. Ive seen a jacket go from $ 500 to $ 30 in the course of a sale. Sometimes it gets better in the midst of a high end sale. Like day 3, they come out with shipments of all these other designer wonderful must haves, and then you almost question what youve previously bought, but then this new stuff is so good too! Besides unique thift boutiques in the middle of america, barneys has supplied some of my favorite wardrobe items. Its a must experience, must be patient, lucrative, well worth it shopping funhouse. Ive seen some adult women get ready to be pankaticly headkicked each other over a last item in a bin, ive seen a little scratching and pulling at times. What is that? lack of shopper sportmanship? People want that last rare original marked down luxury item, and its well worth it, as to why I suggested go wearing flats (comfortable)because you will want to buy alot of stuff, and you dont want to miss anything. It REALLY gets like that in there during crowded hours. The lines get ridiculously long unless youre in there mid day. The makeshift change rooms the women made was a sham. it was just seduction by designer labels, women getting so excited this incredidibly expensive stuff is now accesible. Every one is so cheery because we are getting new shiny things. I remember 1 year. A guy «helping» the girls try on items, not me though! Until we realized he didnt have that black barneys Tshirt or a name tag or anything, and we were like «get the fuck outta here»!!! Security got him out. Barneys has excellent security guards & staff.

Barney’s is fabulous and a luxury. I’m not a frequent shopper of Barney’s but have nothing negative to say about this particular Barney’s. The staff is professional and helpful. Their merchandise has great quality.

I love that you can buy Kiehl’s and Diptyque Candles without leaving Chelsea. That’s how life SHOULD BE.

Just to name a few. Some of the stuff can be hit or miss, and some of the clothes are simply unwearable if you weigh more than 110 pounds, but all in all a good store.
Customer service is kind of a hit or miss depending upon the day.
I actually have a great story about this place.
Some kid was knocking off all the sunglasses from a shelf, and the parent of this child turned out to be Seal. (the singer.)
I freaked out. I’m from Chicago. We don’t have superstars… just sports stars.
To make it more unbelievable, Heidi Klum came running over to see what the whole commotion was about and to see what Seal was up too.
I’m the only one in the entire place that actually didn’t pretend Seal and Heidi were standing there. I let out an OM frickin G! At the time, Heidi was super duper pregnant, and she still looked like a perfect 10.

I’ve heard about the biannual co-​op sale and what I gathered was that it is the Mecca of designer digs with deep discounts. So, while in New York, I decided to give it a whirl.
Yes, there’s a plethora of fancy schmancy shoes, dresses, flowy blouses from Dior to Marc Jacobs, but there is no need to leave your common courtesy at the front along with bag check.
Being literally trampled while reaching for size 7 Louboutins is so not cool. Okay, so no sweat off my back, I made my way to the tops and as I browsed the rack, again, I am being pushed.
I couldn’t stand the ferociousness these women displayed. I understand the items are discounted, but DIZ-​AMN!!! Box out — luckily I stayed composed and did not drop bows!!!
My husband also encountered the same rough housing. Another gripe of his was that all the small sizes were hung on a 3 tiered hanger rack. Being of Filipino decent, we are vertically challenged. Yes, it’s a disadvantage, and I am not blaming anyone, but and doesn’t make more sense to place ‘smalls’ on the lower racks?
Turned off by the ravenous shopping beasts, we left disgusted, but thankfully not bruised. Don’t get me wrong, we love a good bargain, but not at the expense of impoliteness.

Clothes here are cool, prices are high, aesthetics are beautiful. Yes, yes, the usual descriptions for a high-​end department store. But what really separates Barney’s Co-​op from the others is their customer service. It’s really top notch.
As soon as I come in, no one I’ve seen or met is aggressive but neither are they unwilling. I really enjoy this aspect very much. Usually when I go to high end stores, no matter how un-​pretentious they supposedly are, I still get that vibe. But it’s different here. The salespeople are really down to earth and helpful. Perhaps, it’s the décor or maybe because the men aren’t wearing stiff suits. Or if they are, it’d probably be with a chill yet vibrant attitude. Though I cannot pinpoint it, it really works.
I usually come here for the designs and just to browse cool clothes in a really chill atmosphere. Also, I’ll tell my richer friends about some of their stuff since they have the financial capabilities to afford things from here. I have bought a couple things, but nothing expensive, relative to the other items in this store.

Barney’s in a quiet, low-​key setting, with a great selection of casual attire. Some of the nicest collection of casual-​evening wear I’ve found.

This Barney’s is not my favorite. I much prefer the Barney’s Co-​op (women’s only) in SoHo or the full-​scale Barney’s uptown. I feel like this one is randomly thrown together. The clothes are all sorted by designer but there are racks in front, in back, and all around you. There’s a lot of moving in circles here and it’s easy to miss something or not find what you are looking for.
The salespeople here are mostly annoying and pretentious and I try to avoid asking for help when I can.
This place is much more exciting as the home of the Barney’s Warehouse Sale where it’s clear that it’s going to be a mess and a half inside, but you’re bound to find some good deals

Because of prior experience at the Barney’s Co-​op in DC, with its insufferably arrogant salespeople and uninspired clothing, I actively tried to resist going into the Chelsea branch – but the sale signs sent out tractor beams, and I felt myself inexorably drawn in like a scifi nerd to a Trekkie convention.
What a surprise! I guess the DC location doesn’t carry any of the more interesting, more exciting brands like Rag & Bone, Trovata and Vena Cava – it was nice to see edgier clothes with a little more character and creativity than the usual embellished sheath dress 3.1 phillip lim-​Diane von Furstenburg circuit. Die.
Their post-​holiday sale was fantastic (yay recession!), with markdowns of more than 70%, and their employees were actually friendly and helpful – imagine that! HELPFUL SALESPEOPLE! One of them even hung onto the phone for over ten minutes to find out if Barneys New York had a scoop-​neck pleated Madison Marcus dress in my size.
I’m so glad I don’t live around here. I wouldn’t be able to afford it. Self-​control? What’s that?

I went back to Barneys CO-​OP on Saturday morning and saw it in its non-​Warehouse Sale state. And though the prices were far higher, the shopping experience was much more manageable on this go ’round.
I spent most of my time exploring the lotions and potions up near the front with Rudy (who, by the way, is just lovely and sent me home with plenty of Kiehl’s samples). They’ve got an excellent selection of MALIN+GOETZ, my current favorite line of skincare products.
It is both a blessing and a curse to have this place so near.. .

When I first moved to Chelsea the original store– Seventh Avenue & 17^th Street — was still around.
Then it closed.
I was sad.
Very sad.
Very, very sad in fact.
Madison & 61^st was so far away.
Then this place opened.
And, I no longer needed to schlep to Midtown to get my Kiehl’s fix.

I check my email to track a FedEx delivery I am impatiently waiting for. ETA is July 17^th and it looks like it’s been signed for. I go to the front desk and there it is, my box from Barneys Co-​op is here!
Diane von Furstenburg top, the cutest Maloles shoes reduced from 380 and a tank from Alisha Levine plus free shipping, I am so happy right now. Barney’s Co-​op has hugely discounted designer clothes and the website is updated frequently.

Definitely my favorite Barneys location of them all. I guess because of the fact that its conveniently located. Its wonderful. Has a great mens section. Typically I only go there because I want all of the Band of Outsiders stuff. Occasionally I will see something else, but most of the time its that.
When they have their sale, I’m all over that shit. Its the only time I can safely blow oodles of money on multiple items from McQueen and Raf without crying afterwards.

Snooty salespeople selling non-Barney’s quality clothes at near-Barney’s quality prices? I’d rather just go to Barney’s.
I’d give this place one star normally but they had excellent cell phone coverage within which was rare for me in parts of Chelsea.
Sister didn’t like the shoe selection, I didn’t like the men’s selection… we left and went to Gerry’s instead.

One trip to Barneys CO-​OP and I’ve got the right pair of jeans, the right dress and the right top. For all those other items I just could not afford, at least I’ve got a clue now!
