Great store… WHENTHEY’REOPEN!!! Said they were open until 10PM on Sunday’s. Arrived at 9:45 and they were closed. They are over priced but hugely convenient… AGAIN when they’re open. Call before you leave home.

I have lived on and off in FiDi for years and this place is exactly what we needed! They have nice quality brand name brand kitchen gadgets and the staff is always willing to help. The items in there are not cheap overstock stuff which is why it is unfair to compare to «Lot-Less» or even a traditional hardware store. If you want decent quality items and help making your buying decisions this is the place to go.

Great selection of gifts. A little pricey but they have very nice brands. The only problem was the staff. Just bought a Christmas present and tried using the Unilocal 10% discount which they simple would not take. False advertising. And then the clerk wrapped my gift, pretty terribly. I asked for an extra piece of wrapping paper and asked if I can redo to wrap it myself. I said I don’t mean to insult or anything I just would like this gift to be wrapped nicely. The clerk refused to give me any wrapping paper because they’re not allowed to give out any. I’m sorry but really? Way to be in the Christmas sprit. It’s not that big of a deal but it wasn’t very nice and I think that it really wasn’t that difficult to give me an extra piece to redo it. Thanks anyway.

So I just moved to Fidi this summer and I thought finding this store was awesome — convenient location, very clean and well organized, and the store even smells like flowers. But then I realized… (1) It’s WAYOVERPRICED! I purchased a hammer, some screwdrivers, and a broom without second thought because I needed to assemble my IKEA furniture, pronto. It came out to over $ 50! I was like, okay, I guess this is just how much things cost in Manhattan, but then I found… (2) Lot Less! Right around the Fulton corner! I could have literally made the exact same purchases for $ 15. Yes, I tortured myself and found the exact items at Lot Less today for an actual fraction of the price. Definitely won’t be back here ever again. Even Duane Reade seems discounted compared to this place.

I left before realizing you should check in to get their discount. Do it! Ample selection of home goods products here, but they still didn’t have any of the things I was looking for, so I left with only batteries from my shopping list of 4 needs. Unfortunate.

A lot of home products that are way cool. Very small store. The store is actually hard to find. Someone had to show me this store. I love kitchen tools and gadgets. It’s a fun store for me to browse in. The only problem for me is the prices are a bit steep. I still would like to own most of the tools and gadgets in this store.

Ditto on the«Mini Bed Bath & Beyond» by Colleen V. The store is just like a BB&B; just no coupons. I enjoyed browsing during lunch at all the gadgets and useful items for the kitchen! The store is at the corner of Gold St. and John St. which does not have much people traffic. Maybe that is why not many people know about this store.

Finally. This place is like a mini Bed Bath & Beyond, which is perfect for FiDi dwellers that don’t feel like walking to Tribeca for all our BBB needs. Of course, there is less«bed» at Basics Plus but what they lack in that department, they make up for in, I guess, the«beyond»(that sounds wrong, but I’m going with it). For instance, this place also functions as a locksmith, which is very convenient if you need to duplicate your keys but also want to shop for candles, laundry detergent, or rice cookers. This is a small-ish store, but they do a good job at compacting a lot of products into this space. Definitely lots to browse here, and they surprisingly have a good selection of household items. Prices are standard, comparable to BBB — but if you come in on Fridays it’s 20% off all items! Just be sure to remind the cashier, as she seemed to forget that little detail when I was last there.
