The place is very huge! We probably reached on a rainy day just before dinner. Nice place to have a quick bite and drinks

We stopped in for a couple of drinks and an appetizer. Had the Monte Crisco bites, very nicely presented with the delicate sprinkle of powdered sugar and tasty as well. I’m not a beer drinker but they had hot apple cider with spiking options and my sisters enjoyed their beers.

Get a beer and the pork schnitzel. They do an AMAZING job with it!

I had a strawberry beer which was nothing like I’d expect. It was really delicious actually and I would love to try it again! We were in a wine and cheese night so we got a spread of cheeses and meats and bread which is a girls dream.
The waiters are great, the ambience is lovely, and everyone had a nice time! I would love to bring my girlfriends here.

Came to Belgian beer café this week for dinner and had an amazing time!!! A true Belgian experience! The atmosphere itself is spacious and cozy. You can grab a drink at their bar space or be seated for a delicious dinner! Matt our server was extremely friendly and attentive!
We started off with the pretzel which was incredibly soft, warm, and served with an amazing hot cheese dipping sauce! Seriously the best NY pretzel I’ve had! The croquettes made with 5 abbey cheeses from Belgian were delicious as well. The stand out dish was a new item on the menu, called the hot and cold crudo. Served with charred octopus with sea bass crudo in between and an aji Amarillo sauce with black volcanic sea salt! For the entrée I had the delicious pretzel crusted pork chop topped with kalamata olives, feta, greens, and pomegranate seeds, a delightful compliment of flavors! And of course couldn’t end the meal without dessert! Try their Belgian waffle with the works and you’ll be a happy camper!!!
Overall it’s a great place with great vibes, delicious food, an extensive menu, fast service, and a large selection of quality beers! Highly recommend checking it out!

The place is huge with cool décor. On weekday nights they have jazz band playing sometimes. I like the place already going in.
I have not had any bad food here, from meatball slider, beer meatball, Belgian fries with beef stew, to seafood linguini, everything taste flavorful and fresh.
If only the waiter is nicer, give us a smile and not attitude.
And for a nice place like this, the ladies room is surprisingly messy.
Overall I’d give it 3, but with great potential to upgrade. I may come back and bring a friend again.

I was at an event at Madison Square Park so afterwards, my friend and I popped in here for a conveniently located dinner. It was early for dinner, probably around 5:30pm, but it wasn’t totally empty. The wait staff was incredibly nice and made great recommendations. However, service was painfully slow. We each ordered burgers; I got the veggie, she got the meat, and they took FOREVER to come out. They were good though, but not so great to the point we forgot how long it took them to get from the kitchen into our bellies. For dessert we got the chocolate mousse and it was a massive portion and delicious!
When we asked for the check they brought it instantly. Took another 15 minutes before they picked it up from our table. I mean, the place wasn’t busy at all, I don’t get it?! Good thing we weren’t in a rush.
Anyway, Belgian Beer Café is a great location and it’s really big inside. Even though we weren’t in a drinking mood, their selection is on point. I’d come back.

Popped by here for a drink and a light snack to meet up with friends, people like the idea of another place run with the NoMad brand in mind. Walked in, there’s a long bar on the first floor, with TVs and a big projection onto the wall opposite the bar. Seating in bench or seats depending on which part of the table you get, and room on the window sill to throw your bags and coats.
Drinks — plenty of Belgian and Belgian-​style beers here both on tap and in bottle (check with them as their selection varies, and they’ve run out of the on-​tap beers before). Those, no issues nor qualms with serving and drinking up.
The wings — decent, though the breading is a big thicker and turns soggy quickly, rather than staying crisp. Cheese croquettes — a less cheese-​filled version of a mozzarella stick, and with less flavor. Onion soup gratinée — forget it, it’s a distant cousin to the French onion soup, with a heavy emphasis on the beer stock and gruyère, imparting a bitter, earthy-​tasting soup, less so to the rich flavors you’d associate with sharp cheese, grilled and sauteed onions and buttered croûton-​style bread that should float in the midst of the soup, not be weighed down like a sodden lump of seaweed. Some may like this style, but I am not a fan.
Linguini with Mussels & Clams was my main, a solid but unspectacular dish. Lack of wine sauce … just really a slightly creamy version of the same I can make at home. The wine mussels and other mussels & frites dishes are a much better taste and order. Frites in general are a good choice, but the difference between sauces — mayo with and without flavors… not much of a difference?
Last, the dessert — we picked up the Belgian waffle w/​ice cream — the waffle was a solid, grainy affair that imparted little flavor, and felt undercooked particularly given its incredible density. I prefer light and airy, particularly for dessert.
Overall, disappointed with the food, but this is a good place to drop in for the Belgian beers, served in chilled glasses and refreshing to start.

My partner and I stay in a hotel in this neighbourhood and were attracted by the nice open space, looking through the window. And we wanted something else too eat then a burger after 5 days in NYC.
We were not disappointed!
I ordered the Vol au Vent and my partner ordered the Steak Tartare, not knowing that is raw meat. Since I do not mind eating raw meat as much as he, we changed plates. Which the very kind waitress immediately noticed, coming to ask if everything was one. So, I explained the situation and she asked if I didn’t prefer something else. I said, no it’s alright but apparently she saw I was not complete happy and asked if I was sure. Well, I wasn’t. So I had the chance to order the Vol au Vent, and the steak tartare was taken away. And not billed! I thought that amazing.
The vol au vent was delicious and so were the both homemade (!) mayonnaise and the pastry shell!
I had the chocolate mousse for dessert which was worth a ten.
My partner enjoyed his beer and I loved my port!
The only thing was — but that is probably very Dutch, since it happens to us al the time here in New York :-) — that we didn’t get the chance to ask for some coffee, after our dessert, because the bill was already given to us.
Our waitress was very attentive, accurate and kind!
We really had a great night and greatly recommend this restaurant.

Brunch. While the food here is very good, the service here is TERRIBLE. Your food will arrive before your water, which you will need to ask for three times, and will be prompted if you want MORE water when your glass has been sitting empty for a while. Your cocktails will arrive after you finished half your plate.
If you come here, I suggest that you order everything you want ASAP since it may take forever to get your items. This includes the check too, since they don’t seem to know how to operate their registers.
I gave this 3 stars (A-​OK) vs 2 stars (Meh) because the food was delicious. The eggs benedict are on a perfectly toasted, crunchy, yet soft waffle. The combo of all the flavors of the sauce and ham makes this a winning dish. The crispy corn hash was good too!

It’s a pretty room and a very long bar. Background music was something modern and served to mask a lot of background noise. Service is OK.
Brunch is very typical with the addition of two mussel dishes. Brunch cocktails were not impressive. The Bloody Mary was too spicy and the Mimosa was too sweet. Beers are fine.
Coffee could be better. They did not offer a dessert menu which was odd.
None of the tables had salt or pepper shakers — which would be OK if the food was properly seasoned. I needed to flag down a server. This place is not fancy enough to forgo the basics.

Food was very good but service was irritating. It was a Saturday morning and before we were done with our french toast that we were sharing, she took our plate away! She didn’t even ask and there was still some left! Unbelievable!
Really annoying and we had to ask for refills for water each time. Maybe they are understaffed but it wasn’t that crowded.
Food was a 4 rating and the beer selection was very good. Hopefully they retrain their staff.

I’ll admit it, I’m totally apart of the echelon that believes New York State is really made up of just one place: New York City. I voyage up to Manhattan about two to five times a year on business and, every single time –I’m only there for a day or two. So, what do I do? I eat. I eat everything. I eat at as many places as humanly possibly. Especially in the Flatiron district.
Manhattan is probably my favorite place in the United States. And, honestly, this is why: I’ve never been to the Empire State Building, I’ve never been to MoMA, I’ve never been to the Statue of Liberty, seen a Broadway play, and I’ve never gone on one of those double decker liner tours. And yet, from the moment I got my learner’s permit, this was the place I’d autopilot to. For one reason and one reason only: the food.
On my last trip, I decided to bunk looking at Unilocal reviews to find restaurants. «I’ll just walk around and see where the wind takes me,» I kept saying to myself. The Belgian Beer Café is where I ended up, for breakfast of all meals.
I hate beer. I hate beer almost as much as I hate coffee. Beer is bitter, nasty, and tastes even worse when you try to pour sugar in it to lady-​fy it for consumption. The waitress knew I wasn’t a beer nut and, consequently, recommended the best Port I’ve ever had in my life.
They bring you this ridiculously good spread with two different types of bread, which I ate more of than my actual meal. Because it was THAT GOOD. I swear, I could’ve just made a carb-​filled meal out of just that bread/​spread stuff.
I ordered the Steak & Eggs for breakfast and my only issue was that it was slightly over cooked. BUT they made up for it by knowing how to correctly make a soft-​boiled egg (which is damn near impossible in Hampton Roads).
The service was awesome. I actually had two people taking care of me simultaneously and they each let me sample some of their lighter beers and wines. Overall, a strong four stars; although, I’m positive that when I make my return to BBC it will work it’s way into five stars for me.

The Belgian Beer Café is an excellent spot to grab a casual meal or to enjoy a few drinks after work! As the name would suggest, they have an extensive selection of Belgian Beers with an option to purchase growlers! The food is quite good. I’ve tried the Belgian Beer Burger which was excellent. I’m eager to add the foie gras and bacon option the next time I’m here. The spaetzle is also an excellent choice.

Came back tonight and man, what happened? Ordered iced tea, got iced coffee (with a lemon). Ordered Mussels and beer. Mussels were so sandy-​no beer came. Asked to send back mussels and reminded wait staff about the beer. My Date’s soft drink was never refilled or offered water for the entire meal. We shared my water (not refilled until the check came). Ordered sausages and potatoes as a substitute for mussels. This is now served over small portion of potatoes and some cole slaw. It was good, but not as good as it used to be. I liked my waitress, but inattentive. «Femme» Restroom lights were burnt out and the «Madame» room was disgusting and no hand towels-​hand drier broken. When check came, mussels were removed from the bill-​but I still was charged for the coffee that was supposed to be tea.
I would no longer recommend this restaurant. Such a disappointment.

Very impressed with the beer selection — there’s definitely something unique and tasty for all beer preferences. The food is also very delicious. I ordered the mushroom tartine, French onion soup and Mac and cheese. It was hearty and perfect for a crisp fall evening. We sat outside on the back porch — such a lovely atmosphere!
We had the waffle with caramel sauce for desert — so yummy. It’s huge and filling so I recommend splitting it with a friend.

Not sure why this place doesn’t have more reviews, excellent option for the area!
5 stars to the wait staff, the hostess, waiter, guy who took my food away, guy who brought my beer, all were really nice and happy and smiley.
The beer selection is amazing, but that’s because Belgian is my favorite type of beer. I tried something called Leffe and loved it, aka my new favorite beer. Light, crisp, ~alcoholic~.
The food is good, not AMAZING, but the bar foods actually looked good. Aka I’m coming back but just to hang at the bar.
I ordered the seared chicken salad, others ordered the chicken. Chicken entrée was a huge portion and the chicken salad was ok, the seared chicken on the salad was prepared oddly (flattened on the bottom of the plate like a tostada) and wasn’t super falvorful.
They also have a live jazz band on Tuesdays! (don’t know when they start but they were playing when we got there at 7:30 and ended around 8).
If you’re looking for a nice happy hour spot to hang with good beer, this is totes a good option.

Huge space in flatiron! We had a beer and cider for happy hour. We also shared pork Rilettes. They were expensive but delicious.
The atmosphere is cool and chill, the beer prices reasonable and the convenience of the location make this place a safe fun spot to go to.

The difference between Belgian restaurants vs. French restaurants is better fries and nicer people.
Went here for with a bunch of coworkers for lunch. I like the open, airy space and large wooden tables. I ordered the Vol Au Vent, which is a pastry shell with chicken, veal meatballs, and vegetables in a creamy leek sauce. It was delicious and heavy, which is to be expected. Very reminiscent of a chicken pot pie, but much more flaky pastry. Thankfully the portion wasn’t huge. Also came with a side of fries, which were quite good and the compulsory mayo, which was delicious.
It’s a nice spot and I’d go back again and get beers next time.
