Best of the Best Deli

actually better than I thought. had buffet lunch, all the dishes are pretty well flavored and there’s a decent variety of food. the pork rib I got is well cooked. I especially like the string bean salad dish. since I’m right across the street, will def come back to check if they are always like this or just today I got lucky.

This is where i get my breakfast sandwich every day. There are some annoying aspects of this place:
1-​The guys behind the deli counter are overworked and there are times you go to get an egg and cheese and its over 10 minutes.
2-​construction workers come in from 830 – 10 and get 20 sandwiches so no chance you will get your stuff.
3-​the lines are long and checkout people are slow. go to the back checkout for lunch but in the morning, you are screwed.

Breakfast or lunch. Because I work nearby. Their buffet lunch js a good selection. They sometimes have korean food and have kim chi in the cold food section. Which is greaaat!

Lunch was salad bar buffet by the pound. I wanted a salad with all the fresh ingredients by choice totaling $ 5.13. Quality of food is average. I was not able to eat my fill. Staff is mediocre. They ran out of takeout menus. Checkout line moves moderately.

I come in here pretty frequently, my office is across the way. Strong spot for a breakfast sandwich with reasonable prices. Lunch can be pretty crazy and sometimes it does seem like the guys behind the grill have favorites and cater to them faster than others. But you know, it’s NYC and being a regular means something.
I generally stick with standard deli cuts and/​or tuna melt. These deli’s are dying so I try to patronize as much as I can, especially since the Lenny’s moved down the block.

Decent egg sandwich, but the organization behind the line is absolutely atrocious. I shouldn’t have to wait 25 – 30 minutes for a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. And, when I expressed that I had been waiting quite a long time, the cooks basically brushed it off and ignored me. There wasn’t even a line!
The management here needs to get their staff in order. If it weren’t for the fact that it’s a good egg sandwich, this would be a 1 out of 5.

The most expensive deli I’ve ever gotten a simple breakfast sandwich from. They advertise the bacon egg and cheese as 3.75, however they charge tax. If you choose turkey bacon it’s a dollar extra. 5.15 for a bacon egg and cheese? That’s a crime.
Any cart in the city gives it to you 3.00 at most. But to charge tax and an extra charge for bacon… no.
And the worst part is that the sand which didn’t even taste better than the outside food vedors. Rip off. STAY AWAY. The deli down the block on chambers is way better. The people working at this place also have a HUGE ATTITUDE PROBLEM.
After spending 5.15 on a bacon egg and cheese, they have the audacity to ask if I want a coffee? What and spend another 5 dollars? Coffee should be complimentary if the cost of a SIMPLE breakfast sandwich is that high. They are making a 100 percent profit off of this. Those ingredients are a real whole sale and this place is ripping you off. The tax part is amazing also. They charge tax to add salt to injury. I will never in my life set foot in this place again.

Had the freshly made grilled chicken and vegetable wrap the other day. Good stuff.

eh. This place is terrifying to be honest. The reason I gave 2 stars is because *most* of the employees who work there are super sweet. I can only speak about the buffet but dont do it. Please for your sake save yourself. If you’re stuck going here order something from behind the counter.

I’ve worked a half-​block from this neighborhood deli for nearly two years, but never went in to see what they had. I guess that was a mistake because they have an impressive list of sandwiches and salads to go with a two-​station hot and cold buffet.
The deli was clean and bright, though I was a little late for the buffet which was close to empty. So I went to the counter and got myself one of the special sandwiches: honey mustard-​dipped grilled chicken with sliced ham and cheddar cheese on a hero. The special came with free Poland Spring and, at just over seven bucks including tax, it was both a good deal and a very filling meal.
It’s a popular location – it was crowded at nearly 2pm – and the crew seems friendly and professional.
While it lacks the excitement of nearby niche eateries, it’s a perfect place to dash into when you’re hungry and want a good meal that’s quick and inexpensive.
I’m adding it to my list as a definite go-​to place.

These type of classic NYC deli’s are unfortunately a dyeing breed. Courteous staff, lots of walking space and food options, and great sandwich deals which include soda or water for under $ 7.00 (cheap for manhattan prices!)
I recommend the specialty sandwiches, especially #13 and #20 with low fat tuna. Ask for pickles at the cashier at front.

I was not impressed. They gave me a cookie that was wrapped in plastic and had turned soggy and stale. The service was so-​so.

NYC is all about unique options, and this deli has a few. The big board of wraps and flatbread sandwiches is usually where I pick, and I haven’t really been disappointed yet. They have interesting names like 57 Wrap, 67 Wrap, 111 Special, and the use of ingredients is fairly novel as well. I’ve never had Cajun Chicken with white rice in a wrap before… and it works.
Deal for lunch is: anything over $ 6.50 gets a free can of soda or pint of water. So for roughly seven bucks and change, you’ve got lunch covered with a sandwich you’ve never put together in that way.
The coffee is also good, and comparatively cheap for the size. You’d spend for more for DD coffee, much more for Starbucks, not quite sure why’d you’d bother. If you really need special coffee, walk around the block to Blue Spoon.

One of two delis sandwiched around an office building on Park Place across from City Hall in Lower Manhattan. While this one is a little more expensive than its smaller neighbor it has a huge offering of steam-​table food at lunch, good sandwiches, and good breakfasts.
I stopped in before 9 this morning and the place was jumping with orders for egg and cheese sandwiches. I ordered an omelet platter (toast and potatoes) and enjoyed a great breakfast for under $ 5 including tax. Their coffee isn’t very strong but you can’t really expect a great brew from most delis.
Come in for breakfast, have some eggs, come by if you want a good sandwich or food from the steam-​table. Anything over $ 6 comes with a free water or can of soda. After 3pm the steam-​table food is cheaper but it’s also old by then and just sitting out… still tasty but not what I’d recommend if you can have a turkey sandwich or order a burger or something else. They have signs up for burritos but I’ve never tried one. I go for breakfast from time to time and it hasn’t failed me yet. Keep it coming Best of the Best. Really a 3.5 star review… just won’t let me do that.
