I’ve used Best Bus a number of times and I’ve always had a great experience. They are on time, their employees are nice, and they give me free water, wifi and electricity and go directly to my home town in Manassas. Perfect.

I use this service atleast once a month to travel to Manassas in Virginia to visit family. They have always been on time. There is a driver change in between which doesn’t take more than 5 minutes. They always offer free water for the ride. The drivers have been safe and the bus is always clean. Sometimes they run specials where they offer to take you for half the fare, which is sweet. The travel time usually depends on traffic but hasn’t taken more than 5 hours. For the price, this is a great option to travel to the DC, Virginia area.

Made it each way in under 4 hours. Easy trip. Friendly staff. Only complaint was that the lights on the bus cut in and out and the temperature fluctuated quite a bit on the bus. I’d ride again.

Bus left on time, arrived DC in rush hour so about five minutes late. Clean with attentive driver. The bus was not full so I had two seats to myself. It might be a little tight if full. Even though it was advertised as an express, they still let passengers vote on whether to stop (we didn’t). The only thing wrong with this bus was NO wifi, even though the password etc. was announced before we left. I tried off an on the whole trip, but wifi did not exist.

He is very helpful and goes the extra mile when it comes to customer service, i remember the very first time i went to NY i had no idea of how to get to central park Mr. Ramos didn’t mind taking extra minutes to explain me… i wish i see him more often it feels very safe when he drives .as bestbus what can i said great service cool buses free water free chocolate on thanksgiving upscale service thank you highly recommend it to everyone who goes to NY and maybe you get Mr. Ramos as driver.

Writing this review as I’m in the bus right now and can’t use Internet. I took Vamoose to get to DC and was able to video stream with only couple of times wi-​fi failing. Took Bestbus to come back to New York and I’m bored as hell because you can do NOTHING while connected to their wi-​fi.

Reliable service to DC. Unlike Bolt or Mega Bus where you have to trek all the way to Siberia to find the bus, Best Bus picks up a few blocks south of Port Authority. Prices are more expensive than Bolt, but the service here is much better. Clean and tidy, free water, no riff raff, frequent schedules. If you need to go to DC/​NY, check this one out.

My favorite NY to DC bus experience so far this year! Great customer service, left right on time and free water. This bus option is especially convenient if you’re like me and want to leave from Times Square and go to DuPont Circle in DC. This way I don’t need to take a cab during either end of my journey. I also noticed that if you are buying at the last minute tickets are cheaper here than megabus or greyhound.

I travel regularly between DC and New York City and have used all of the major bus lines that go between. After one trip with this Company I can say certainly it’s the only one I would never use again.
The bus showed up an hour late and we received almost no word on its status. The employees either didn’t care or were rude, and an hour and a half into the trip there was an unannounced delay as they made everyone switch buses.
You can get comparable and usually lower prices on Bolt Bus or Megabus or even Greyhound, and these are more punctual and have better safety records.
And lastly, the buses are the most cramped of them all and this company has a reputation for its buses breaking down (or according to one review, catching fire).

I used to love this bus company. They had great service and the buses were clean, efficient, and drivers were friendly. Today our bus had engine issues and we had to pull over for a second bus to arrive 30 minutes into the trip. When it finally arrived, the second bus also had engine issues. So we got 2 faulty buses which caused major time delays and inefficiency. Beware of safety!

Sigh — hurts to write this review. I used to love riding best bus. It had good service. That was until my fiancé was riding it last month — the bus she was riding literally burned to the ground in the middle of nowhere! Talk about lack of safety!
Since then, I decided to give them a second chance and ride it again. They have lost touch to say the least. The bus is 1 hour late (I am standing in line as I write this review). It’s hot and humid and everyone is tired. Looks like best bus can’t even get their buses to arrive on time now, let alone provide good service.

It took 5.75hrs, granted we left on a Friday afternoon (1.15pm).

Well, it’s a good ride. BUT the ride up… no Internet. You can connect to their WiFi however it won’t connect you to the internet. And their bathroom was locked. Awesome.
I’m on the ride back right now and same issue with internet. Can’t connect to anything. This part blows. So… don’t take this bus if you hoped for internet.
Bring a book.

I traveled from NYC to the Dupont Circle area in Washington DC.
The bus left on time. It usually leaves in front of a restaurant called the Hummus and Pita Company (I ordered a meal there before the bus came and it was delicious and less than $ 10).
The driver of the bus had to park further down the street that day because of phone company vehicles that were blocking the normal bus stop. The «host» (not the same person as the driver) actually poked his head in the door of the restaurant and asked if anyone there was waiting for the bus and notified us of the new location a bit further down the street (that was a nice touch). He was also very polite when the people were boarding, and the boarding process was orderly. The name on the outside of the bus was «Academy» and it was bus number 6635.
The inside of the bus was OK, but nothing fancy. The seats were average in comfort. The seat backs were firm and flat. Some seats have several more inches of legroom than others… compare as quickly as you can when you board the bus if you’re taller than average. There was an electrical outlet and a USB charging port for each seat, and they worked.
The big minus for me is that the WiFi didn’t work. The vehicles are apparently equipped with a mobile hotspot, but it never did connect to the wireless network it uses (either Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-​Mobile), so no WiFi for the 5 hour trip. The signal produced by the in-​bus hotspot was strong, but was an empty signal. About an hour into the trip, I asked the driver if the WiFi would work during the trip and he flipped a button to reset it but it never did work. I would suggest that the host test the WiFi before the bus leaves to make sure it’s working, as the driver didn’t know much about anything other than how to get to Washington. When we arrived in the Dupont Circle neighborhood in Washington, I asked the driver where the Metro station was, and he had no idea. I asked a few pedestrians until I found someone who knew.
I paid extra to use Best Bus, hoping that the service would be a cut above the others, but that didn’t happen mainly because of the lack of WiFi. I don’t think I would be willing to pay extra for Best Bus the next time I make this trip.

I guess after a year this bus company has become more popular. There were a lot more riders than last year. A few things I didn’t like about the ride this year is
1) no longer offered a movie
2) there were changes in bus drivers in NJ which increased our travel time
3) some dumb girls didn’t get off at their stop so the bus driver turned around to let them off which was an extra 15 min wasted – it was nice of the bus driver to do this but it wasted everyone else’s time!
4) the bus was almost 30 min late when picking us up for the 7:30am in Vienna with no reason why and no compensation.
I will give best bus another try next year but if it’s late like that again especially for pick up I’m just going back to Bolt which was never late for pick up

If you’re bussing from NYC to DC, this is the only company you should use. Many times to choose from and pretty reliable — only a few times have I waited past the scheduled leave time. Outlets under the seats, and free WiFi (even though for streaming TV it doesn’t work that well). The bus moves pretty fast, but the only thing I don’t like is on a few occasions it’s taken a detour to switch drivers. It cuts into the trip time, and sometimes leads to extra traffic in the exit lanes. All in all, though the staff is friendly and accommodating, and it’s a comfortable ride for a reasonable price.

Best Bus is cheap ($ 60 round trip NYC to DC), clean, and gets to your destination pretty much on time pending traffic. Love the Dupont drop off location.

When I can’t travel by Amtrak I use Best Bus. After trying Megabus whose service, I’m my opinion, is the absolute worst. Bolt Bus who has the most uncomfortable seats known to mankind, Vamoose which is over priced, I found Best Bus to always be on time, comfortable seats and professional. I’ve used this company for well over a year and each time it has been excellent service.

I travel to DC from NYC almost every weekend and I have tried every bus line to DC (Megabus, Bolt Bus, WashDelux, Peter Pan). Bestbus is the «best bus»! The drivers are on time, they are caring, the busses are clean and quite, and so on.
I recently signed up for the VIP program and knew I would stick to this bus line for the entire year as a VIP member. The price is a bit higher then mega and bolt, however, I’d rather spend a few extra dollars to have quality service and a company who cares about the customer.
Plus, the wi-​fi actually works!

Pretty professional operation for a low-​cost service. Did two Friday PM/​Sunday PM round-​trips from NY to DC. Buses left on time and were clean. Dupont drop-​off is very convenient. Recommended if you’re priced out of the train. Take this over MegaBus if they are priced similarly.
That being said, the voting for a movie and a rest stop thing is really weird.
