Bhambi’s Custom Clothiers

Thoroughly impressed with Bhambi’s. Certainly as good as the custom clothier industry gets. The since-​1968-​father-​and-​son brand name and respectable clientele base (celebrities, top executives, politicians) speak volumes to this shop’s quality.
It pays to look nice, and I looked no further than Bhambi’s to revamp my professional wardrobe. The timelessly classic wood-​floor tailor room, vast selection of fabrics and customizations are unparalleled. You walk into the shop knowing things will turn out great. Albeit the turnaround being a bit slow (approx. a month), it is absolutely worth the wait. The attention to detail I saw with my dress shirts left me in awe. Take a look at the immediate sample work around the shop, you’ll know what i mean.
Also, Harry is a gentleman. Very knowledgable of his craft and personable to clients. Definitely made the experience even better.

Absolutely fantastic! Was in NYC for a couple of meetings, seam of my trousers gave out, hotel concierge recommended Bhambi to fix the seam. Wasn’t really sure what to expect, but hiked over to Bhambi. When i arrived was immediately impressed with the displays of fabrics and suits, staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly well beyond expectations, and best of all the tailor fixed the trousers while I waited. Best of the best!

just called them to try to make an appt to get a dress taken in. they asked how i heard about them and i said on
. they then promptly informed me that they are not taking any new clients. FAIL

They make beautiful custom suits for my husband with the most precise measurements. Very meticulous. You won’t find better quality.

Talk about LUX, this place is totally swank. It was recommended to me by a friend when I needed a tailor to make some modifications to a very expensive jacket I bought. I didn’t want to trust this to just anyone, so I took it to Bhambi’s.
They quickly fitted me and had the coat altered in a week. It was $ 70 to have sleeves let out and a lining extension added to the coat. I think that might be on the pricey side, but I didn’t care. I needed this coat taken care of by the best, so that’s what I did.
I would feel secure leaving my most prized clothing in their hands. A great tailor, hands down.

When I worked at Barneys for two years selling men’s sportswear, Bhambi’s was always the tailor we recommended for clients who needed alterations faster than we could provide or had clothing they didn’t purchase in the store. I’m working in Brooklyn now but still send anyone who needs top notch tailoring to Bhambi’s on 60^th St.

I had my wedding dress altered here, and it came out looking absolutely perfect even though the fabric was a smooth white silk that would have showed every error. It was a relatively small job for them, and they nonetheless made me feel like a valued customer. I found the (not so cheap) price reasonable given the quality of their work. If I’m ever feeling insane enough to get married again, I’ll go back to Bhambi for the alterations!

Very expensive, but one of the best shops if you can afford to splurge on an incredible suit.

I recently wanted to have some alterations made to a few high quality suits. Hemming is one thing that I’d let most tailors take care of — although I’ve had some disappointing experiences even in that department — but when it comes to taking in jackets I wouldn’t want to deliver clothing that I care about to just any dry cleaner. Actually, I wouldn’t want to deliver it to a dry cleaner at all… With that in mind I set about to find a decent place for alterations and after a few searches I stumbled across Bhambi’s.
I only have good things to say about the expertise and staff at Bhambi’s. If you care for your suits, bring them here for alterations. They are a bit expensive, but it’s a job very well done… and you always feel welcome when you step inside. Alterations are guaranteed for the next few months, so if you’re not entirely satisfied you just bring it back and ask them to change it.
I am no authority on their tailor made suits (they apparently run from $ 1,800 and up!) so I can’t comment on that part of their business.
