Birdbath Neighborhood Green Bakery

Birdbath used to be one of my go to lunch spots near my office, but when I went in today I discovered that their prices have increase SIGNIFICANTLY, with no signage so I did not even know about the increases until my $ 18 lunch bill. For example, their large spaghetti squash, which is not that large, is now $ 9! The woman who filled the contained only filled it half way and then left squash hanging off the side of the container. When I asked if she could clean it off she flicked off half of it into the rest of the food containers… luckily the cashier was more kind and went back and filled in the other half of the containers.
Needless to say, the food tastes good, but not that good.

Food has literally never disappointed me, customer service is great, and I’m currently eating the most mind-​blowing oatmeal raisin cookie ever!!! Very very happy this spot is just a hop and skip away from where I work. Definitely try the chicken cilantro sandwich and the kale salad! So very delicious. And the baker’s muffin is, as always, a wonderful treat.

amazing lunch spot in tribeca. all their salads are exceptional, high quality and deeeelicious. Best kale salad yet. and the new white sweet potato salad is beyond. The small is big enough for lunch and they load it in the container. The staff there is super friendly and helpful too.

Inexplicably closed weekends, but with a standing promo that if you arrive by bike you get 15%, just grabbed a $ 1 peanut butter cookie here and it was fine. Friendly service, but Acme and Baked up Church are better anyway.

I miss their chocolate chip cookies since I moved from NY. They are giant and super buttery and very chocolatey and filling.
Last summer for me was iced coffee and chocolate chip cookie before work several times a week and I was pretty addicted to it. I was not even a big fan of iced coffee before this either but theirs is pretty good.
I will definitely hit you up when I visit nyc again!

I’m speechless and have nothing else to say about the food.
However, I will add that the staff were very friendly and nice. When I asked questions about the food, the woman working knew a lot about each item and gave me some good recommendations which I will definitely try next time.

We went here for coffee and my friend suggested I try the pretzel croissant — he said it will change my life. :)
I have to say, it was mind boggling. The first bite is a pretzel, crispy, then as you sink your teeth in, it’s a croissant — soft and fluffy.
We were in and out so I cannot comment on the service but that pretzel was really good!!!

I love their pretzel croissant and bakers muffin so much.
But since every customer service of this chain bakery is horrible, I always hesitate to come back again… except City Bakery.
I think they will lose their business if managements keep such a customer service on and do nothing about that.

I went here to grab a quick lunch before a meeting. The layout is kind of awkward, there are 2 benches placed in odd corners, that is the only seating.
I had the baked spaghetti squash, which was tasty, although a bit oily. And a dark chocolate cookie with white chocolate chunks. GOOD GOD. One of the best cookies I’ve ever had. Slightly caramelized exterior, soft moist interior, delicious rich chocolate (but not too rich or overpowering) punctuated by the occasional white chocolate chunk. Maybe the best cookie I’ve had in the city.
It’s a bit pricy but I’ll be definitely return.

I love birdbath’s food and snacks — but the employee attitude at this location makes me regret going every time. I don’t they think realize they are in the service industry… Or that their customers can hear them deliberately ignoring them. You’d think someone was pointing a gun at their heads forcing them to do their jobs.
Then I eat my sandwich and get even more annoyed because it is so delicious. Darn you birdbath for making me want to go back.
Get some employees who actually want to work for a check.

I like Birdbath, but I love the chicken cilantro sandwich, which is one of the greatest sandwiches I’ve ever had. It never fails to make me happy. The smoked chicken is pretty good too.
Do be prepared for a small wait.

food is great, a little on the greasy side and way too salty on salads. im giving 1 star because the service is lousy! the girl with red hair at Tribeca location has such a bad attitude, she rolled her eyes several times when i asked questions. there was a heavy set lady (i haven’t seen her lately), she too, also has such a bad attitude. Birdbath not treating their employees right? they are taking it out on customers. several of my co-​workers stopped going there for that reason, now that there are more lunch places opening up in Tribeca, i’m going to stop going to this location.
Pret has great food and much pleasant people.

Pretty expensive lunch spot, and they ruin a lot of their food with too much cilantro.

Spaghetti squash will blow your mind, highly recommend the food, slightly disappointed there’s not much room to sit but the food is so good, it still deserves 5 stars

Two words: pretzel croissant. Someone brought these to a work meeting and I literally could not stop thinking about it all day. Flaky, buttery, salty perfection. The next morning I made it my mission to go get another. I also picked up a mixed berry croissant, which was also excellent: moist inside, with big sugar crystals sprinkled on top.

One of my Unilocal friends recommended this place because they have organic and vegan desserts. The vegan pickings are slim — I think they have a muffin and a cookie. With that said, they are totally worth it. This place is not to far from my job, so if I don’t feel like walking to wholefoods, I usually take a trip here. I have to try more of the menu. My service was good, the staff seemed knowledgeable about the ingredients. Most of the items were well labeled.

The baked goods, hot cocoa, and grilled cheese sandwiches are awesome here.
I want to love their salads but they always use too many raw red onions. Why make a salad with delicious fancy cheese, greens, and veggies if you’re just going to overpower the taste with a gazillion red onions? Not to mention that they make my breath taste like onions all day, even after brushing my teeth. It’s really disappointing, since this is the only local take-​out lunch spot I know if that makes a kale salad.

OMG.
I stopped in randomly to grab something to eat on my way to jury duty, and almost left because everything’s a dollar more than anywhere else. But I was on a schedule, so I spent the extra $ 2 and got a baker’s roll and a ginger-​pear corn muffin to go.
OMG. These are the best muffins I’ve ever eaten. Perfect in flavor, texture, everything, with no skimping on the cinnamon and the ginger. And I did say, aloud, a couple of times, while walking: Oh my god.
New favorite.

After working a long day and hurriedly rushing along the wet sidewalks of NYC, this bakery was a nice pit stop.
The sign outside says they are now open to 7pm Monday thru Friday. I look at my watch, it is 6:15pm. Great, I have a few minutes!
I walk in and look inside the cold refrigerator case first, but no luck. Nothing was VEGAN.
I then walk over to the pastry case and that is where I hit the jackpot. The friendly counter help pointed me to the VEGAN raspberry muffin, the rice milk muffin and two kinds of VEGAN cookies. Sweet!
I got one of the VEGAN oatmeal raisin cookies and happily munched on it after yoga class. It was definitely VEGAN and you can taste the agave. It was well-​made, but for $ 3 a cookie, I’ll be going broke soon…
This will be a treat once in awhile, but nice to know it is close to work! Great for an afternoon pick-​me-​up!

I stumbled in during lunch time and was thankful that while they could prepare lots of lunch food they had some premade, delectable dishes as well. They even have a small section where one could buy produce!
Not a lot of seating, but the space is refreshing, and the selection is good. The dishes are whole and scrumptious. My tofu was uniquely flavored and included noodles and greens. Yum.
