Best service and best sushi I’ve tried. The sushi bowls are bomb and so fresh. And the sushi rolls are really good too. It’s inside a building so it’s nice and cool for summer time plus there’s a lot of other stores within the building so you can shop and also get dessert if you want. Did I mention the view is amazing too? the ocean is right by it! I def recommend going here

Wow, my salmon sashimi, cucumber salad, and noodle bowl was like almost $ 20 by itself, but it was delicious and I felt healthy after eating it. I also love that this location of Blue Ribbon is in Hudson Eats, the most beautiful beautiful food court I’ve ever seen in Manhattan, or actually anywhere else. High prices aside, the fish was so fresh, flavorful, and the salad was crisp, refreshing, and pickled just the right amount. Definitely enjoyable, but be prepared to splurge.

Pros: — Electronic menus were nice. — Service was good. — We had four specialty rolls, but we enjoyed the fried shrimp roll the most. Cons: — They sometimes substitute imitation crab/fish meat for crab meat. Tips: — You can ask them to use real crab meat for $ 2 – 3 more per roll. — We should have gone with a combo plate and saved $ 10 – 15.

This place is my favorite sushi spot for a quick lunch in the area! Daily donburi is my favorite(it’s usually rice topped with salmon sashimi + salmon roe and Japanese pickles). Pair with a small bowl of soup and you’re set! I do wish they had a separate line for those ordering the daily donburi to cut down on waiting time. A girl can dream, right? There is usually a line during weekday lunch hours that is comprised of people ordering the build-your-own lunch bowls.

I should have ordered Don. I ordered only 5 pcs of Nigiri-Sushi and a glass of wine. It costs $ 42.79-. I think it is too expensive since it was avarage $ 7 each. Nigiri-Sushis were not bad but they were not fantastic. I will order Don next time.

Looks better than it tastes. Cost $ 17 – 20 I’ve tried 3 other pokebowl places in NYC and this place is the worst out of them. Go to Pokeworks. They do not have many toppings to pick from. You get to pick one fish, one vegetable, and one base. I got the green noodles with salmon poke and seaweed salad. Now I am feeling kind of sick. Stomachache :( For the price — not worth it. Other pokebowls are cheaper and you get more bang for your buck there… not here.

Poke bowls! LOVE this place their poke bowl is so delicious and fresh and really hard to find a good quick sushi place downtown. Love the salmon poke and tuna poke bento bowls. The spicy shrimp is good. You get one fish one veg and rice or noodles. If you ask they can do half tuna half salmon and for example half tofu half hijiki edamame salad. My current lunch/dinner obsession. The service is beyond efficient and portions are generous.

The dine in sushi bar food here is pretty good for both lunch and dinner. However, takeout bowls were not that good.

I’ve been to the Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar at Hudson Eats twice now and it’s pretty good if you manage your expectations. In other words, don’t expect the quality of sushi you get from the actual Blue Ribbon restaurants; this spot is just one teeny step above food court sushi. I’ve tried the bento box which is a great option if you want to try a bunch of random little appetizers.(Unlike bento boxes at most other Japanese-American restaurants, you’re not married to chicken teriyaki and shrimp shumai). The tuna poke leaves a lot to be desired — the tuna should definitely be fresher. But in all, this Blue Ribbon spot is good for satisfying that casual sushi craving.

That glass noodle, that shrimp, the squid combo, tuna poké, salmon poké, and seaweed salad are my usual bowl mixes. I’m a fat ass, and you will join the club when you mix these bad boys together. They get me full, they get the job done. The staff are extremely friendly and always willing to guide you through the nutrients in each meal. They know how to compliment certain sauces and seasonings with every meal. Wash it all down with the Yuzu lemonade and then hit the bathroom 20 feet away to release it all out. Love this place.

After going to the One World Observation, we decided to check out Brookfield Place, which was the next block over. I ordered the Sushi + Maki and a Japanese beer. The sushi and maki consisted of a small, tiny California roll and a few assorted sushi pieces. For $ 16 dollars, this seemed high considering this is a fast food, food court and a self serve kind of place. The beer was excellent, but extremely expensive. For a hefty $ 12 at a food court, it seemed like highway robbery! $ 30.48 later, I was hungry afterwards and had to get some more food elsewhere. Service was okay, since you wait in line, order, pay and in my case, they gave me a buzzer to notify my when my order is ready. When the buZzer activated, I had to walk up to the counter to pick up my food, or «tiny» snack. The food was in a takeout container, similar to a grocery sushi box and was on a cafeteria style tray. Even the soy sauce and sauce container were in plastic. The food was good, but nothing special. I would try another place in the food court next time around and definitely will pass on this place.

If you’re a a sushi lover, you should definitely check this place out. The manager, servers, and sushi chefs were all super friendly & attentive. I love the quality of their seafood & their daily happy hour menu. From 4−6pm, the hand rolls are $ 5 and you get 2 sake/beer for the price of 1. I highly recommend trying the spicy yellowtail handroll! It was so delicious. You can also order sushi bowls for takeout. I’ll definitely come back here to try this.

Came here around 2pm for late lunch since I know hudson eats is very pack during the lunch time. I got the clear noodle with spicy shrimp & seaweed in a bowl for lunch. Yum! It cost $ 17 for a bowl. A bit pricey but so worth it. The serving is big & can be good for 2 people. Its been so long since I wanna try this place & glad I did. So satisfied with what I ordered. I didn’t even finish it so I save it for my dinner. I wanna go back to try their sushi!

I’ve eaten here a few times and I think it is hit or miss but really 3.5 stars on average. Bumping it to four because tonight we had exceptional service and delicious sushi. We started with edamame, which were fresh, hot, and perfectly salty. Then we had salmon avocado, spicy tuna, a yellowtale/tuna/salmon roll, and a white tuna sashimi appetizer and everything was quite tasty– high quality, and very enjoyable. The server comped the sashimi due to a long wait and also brought a delicious and unexpected cold spicy shrimp and fried tofu dish with fish eggs while we waited, that was different, fresh, and fantastic. The soy sauce recipe is a little thicker/more viscous than I prefer, but that wasn’t a major issue. In the past, I’ve gotten the sushi bowls for takeout and a couple rolls custom made from the sushi bar to go but I think that the sit down experience offers far more value and quality. If you must do this to go, I suggest the salmon poke and the seaweed salad. Again, biggest win was the spicy shrimp and tofu salad/app that was brought as a complementary treat because we were nice customers. Pass the kindness. I’m looking forward to returning.

**Takeout review** Yikes. High expectations, low results. After the decent reviews for the original location of Blue Ribbon Sushi, I was hoping I would have a good experience here. Perhaps it’s just the takeout that really sucks? For almost $ 26 for a takeout lunch, I got a 3 roll spicy combo and a Japanese drink(a can of grape soda, essentially). That’s a way inflated price, obviously, for not even close to mediocre sushi. Quite frankly, I’ve had better sushi at a café/deli. That’s sad. I got spicy mako combo with 3 rolls for $ 21. It came with the usual — spicy salmon and spicy tuna as well as a spicy shrimp(? or crab? or something shellfishy? or a mix?). The rice was soggy as was the seaweed. The fish was too cold and was not as fresh as I was expecting it to be. The rolls were really hardly spicy at all. They also give you packaged, crappy wasabi with your takeaway order. So not a memorable meal as you can tell. The best thing about the meal was the grape soda.

The noodle bowl is amazing, but very pricey for lunch($ 18 with tax… my wallet weeps). They give you a LOT of food. A BIG glop of noodles(get the green tea soba!!!), a non-trivial amount of fish, and tons of seaweed. Basically equal parts noodle, veggie, and fish. Which is freaking awesome. The poke is a little too salty for my taste but play around and see which options you like.

Ordered from here via Caviar. Wasn’t too impressed unfortunately. I got the bento box with green tea soba noodles, tuna and salmon poke, and tuna tare tare. Everything was mediocre/kind of bland to be honest. The noodles came with a sauce, which helped enhance the flavor a bit. The poke fell below expectations: the fish didn’t taste incredibly fresh and flavor was again lacking. Same with the tare tare(came with soy sauce but was early tasteless by itself). There were some good parts though: I really liked the miso soup, for one. Lightly salted but quite savory. The bento box is also a good deal: you get to pick 3 different appetizers from a massive list, so points for variety. Overall a pretty underwhelming sushi/Japanese experience. It’s an okay fix if you’re looking for some volume but would not really recommend if you’re going for something of higher quality.

Blue Ribbon Sushi Express NY Manhattan FiDi 8pm Friday 19th June 2015 Three Stars I have eaten at one of Blue Ribbon’s location in the past and was quite impressed. I ordered a bento Bowl $ 16 with clear noodles, Hijiki Salad, and Tuna Poke. There was a generous portion of noodles which were nicely cooked. The seaweed, soybean, lotus root were the main component of the salad. It was crispy and refreshing but there’s one flavor that I couldn’t figure out that threw the flavor profile out of balance. The Ahi was fresh but weirdly cut into long strips which is probably just for economic use of the rest of the fish. I did like the choice of Spicy Oil and Spicy Sesame Seeds. They have my favorite Beer: Hitachino White, but I wasn’t in the mood to spend $ 10 for a beer at eatery. Overall, it was a filling and delicious meal.

I’ve been coming to Hudson Eats @ Brookfield Place for a while now, and I’m glad to see that Blue Ribbon sushi is fully operational(it was one of the last places to open here)! The area is kept clean, and the people at the counter were well-informed and friendly! I opted for the noodle bowl. It may seem a little pricey at first, but I definitely had a lot of food. They explained that I could have a starch, veggies and a protein. They explained the menu to me and were patient as I made my decision. I got the clear potato noodles, seaweed salad and spicy shrimp. They added some kind of sauce to my noodles and although it was good without it, it was a good addition! It added another flavor to the noodles. The seaweed salad tasted fresh, and did not leave me with a weird after taste. I’m not usually good with spicy things, but the shrimp was perfect! It seems to be covered in spicy mayo, which I loved. They also have my favorite bottled drink — a Yuzu lemonade. Definitely a must try!
