Food: delicious. Three of us and apps included the fresh motz and tomato salad which I did not try, but my colleague said it might have been the best she’d ever had. Roasted peppers are served with it. I had the crabmeat cocktail. It was awesome. Huge pieces of lump crab. Served with cocktail sauce and a mustard sauce. I’m looking for an excuse to go back already. Entrees included the Cobb salad, seared tuna and broiled scallops. Side of asparagus. I had the scallops which were prepared just right. Not too well done, but not under cooked either. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Service: professional, well educated, clean, as expected from a Bobby vans. However, it did take a while for the asparagus to get served. I actually thought about canceling the order, but then they showed up. Atmosphere: typical NYC steakhouse which works for me Misc: if you like crab, this app is a must. The only thing that could make it better is if they somehow got the atomic horseradish from The Palm.

We had a reservation to eat at this restaurant. The hostess called us around 3pm the day of to confirm our reservation. When we arrived at 9pm the host told us that the restaurant was closed. Very disappointing to come all the way from Downtown Brooklyn to turn around and go home without eating. we will continue to choose other steakhouses and regret giving this place a chance.

I am a regular here. The food is consistently very good. The device is excellent and the ambiance is nice. The veal is my favorite. The Caesar salad with calamari is sublime.

Typical New York middle-of-the-road steak joint. Steaks looked gigantic, so I opted for sesame tuna which was OK, but nothing special. Hash browns came with very thick crust(almost burnt). Overall, utterly forgettable(with the exception of «theatre district» prices) experience.

Our first time here and everything was fantastic. The food was wonderful and the service was efficient and attentive without being obtrusive. Will definitely be back and will recommend to family and friends.

I’ve been here a few times, and really love this classic NYC steakhouse! They have some great starters, including oysters Rockefeller and a crispy artichoke, greens, and shaved parmesan salad. I also love their salmon entrée with sauteed escarole and roasted potatoes. I’ve gotten it a couple times, and it’s delicious! I recently was here for a work event too. There is a really nice private space that easily fits 75 people. We thought the staff was very accommodating and there was a great selection of passed apps for our cocktail hour. We had bacon wrapped scallops, filet mignon over toast, and vegetarian spring rolls. Everyone left the event full and happy!

The food was delicious. Chilean sea bass done right! The waiters looked a little annoyed.

Absolutely splendid post-theater dinner at Bobby Van’s! Over the years when coming to NYC for Broadway shows, we haven’t been overly thrilled with the nearby theater district restaurants. They basically seem like tourist traps. We made a reservation at Bobby Van’s, since they had post-show tables available. We didn’t get there until 10:45pm & even though we just made it before closing time, the staff was extremely cordial and the food was truly spectacular! The manager was super friendly and welcomed us, as did the servers! We ordered quickly, considering it was almost time for the staff to go home.(Two other tables were still dining, so we weren’t the only ones searching for a late night bite.) Cocktails were out of this world and so were the wide variety of bread/crackers/breadsticks. The husband ordered roasted pork chops & I ordered the Chilean seabass. You would never have believed this was a rushed job in the kitchen, considering it was so late… both entrees were cooked to perfection! Bobby Van’s is rather pricey, but for a special occasion – the service, the food, and the atmosphere is hard to beat! We will definitely return here on our next Broadway trip!

Great lunch spot, especially for business lunches. Had the burger here — it’s HUGE. Had a lobster salad and that was also delicious

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the crowne plaza. We were greeted by the manager, given exceptional service. I had the petite filet with lobster mac & cheese… Perfect by the way! Hubby had bone in ribeye that was also cooked perfectly. The wait staff was very attentive and eager to assist if needed! Great attitudes! This is definitely on our comeback list!

I ate dinner at this Bobby Van’s Steakhouse on 50th Street in New York City, NY on 8÷5÷2015. It was my 1st time there(I actually got there by pedicab). I came here following a 2:00 p.m. performance of The Jersey Boys. I had excellent food and excellent service. My whole meal cost $ 88.96 including tax and tip, but you get what you pay for. Plus, I took photos.

I come here a lot. I’m pretty sure my coworkers are considered regulars. We always sit across from the bar and look forward to getting served by Jennifer. She is a great server who will never let your glass go empty but not very chatty. The beer selection is great. They have my two favorites: Blue Moon and Hoegarden. This is a more upscale place to have a drink and the place is mostly occupied by the suits and ties that work around the area. The best part is that around 6pm they give you a little bowl of friend chicken which is DELICOUS. The shrimp cocktail is very good here too.

The service was one of the worst I’ve ever had in any restaurants!!! The waiter was extremely pushy and condescending. Given that… *DISCLAIMER* I went during RW so the quality of food was worse. *Another disclaimer* THEREISONLYONESTEAKINTHEWHOLERESTAURANTWEEKMENUANDITCOSTS $ 10EXTRA! Also, this steak is CHOICE, while the regular menu steak is PRIME.(Prime is much better quality meat than choice) I went to Bobby Van’s with my brother and a friend, for his birthday. We were seated and had a relatively warm welcome by the waiter. However, after some small talk, the waiter found out that it was my friend’s birthday. So, he offered the porterhouse(?), the most expensive steak in the menu, and we thought about it and kindly declined. Afterwards, he offered us drinks from the bar, where we also kindly declined. Each time he asked, he made a condescending remark as if we should be ordering more expensive items. We ordered two items from the RW menu, Chicken Parm, and cream of spinach. While we had a full entrée each, the waiter kept offering more and saying that the«birthday boy» was not getting enough, and it seemed like he wanted to make us feel bad for not buying enough food for him. Although I understand that the waiter wanted to get more tip by having us buy more expensive food, his approach was way too rude and uncomfortable. The only good experience from this dinner was the chicken parm. Although the meat of the chicken parm was all the same, it had some great flavor to it. Overall, I cannot believe that a steakhouse would not offer steak in their RW menu for the same price, and the one that they do, is noticibly lower quality. The service was terrible, and I would not go back to this restaurant soley due to their customer service.

We made an Open Table reservation, for 6:30pm. Arrived on time, greeted by hostess, I asked her to check us in for Open Table, she said, «she didn’t have access. But would put us in later. however that didn’t happen. The next day received email, about missing bobby vans for 6:30. We spent $ 243.00. What a rip off, with a pushy waiter, food was just okay. Definitely not worth the money. We would recommend STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE, IFYOUUSEOPENTABLE. and hostess the sucked

Two couples went to Bobby V’s on Tuesday the 16th. None of us were particularly hungry so we all decided to have French onion soup and a dinner salad. We also had 2 bottles of sparkling water to share. The attitude of the service people changed once they saw that we were not having larger entrees. The French onion soup was very watery prompting my fried to coin the phrase«French onion water». We are not snide or picky people but the quality of the soup was far below the level of Outback’s French onion soup, if you’ve ever had it. The steamed spinach salads were served cold, enough said. We struggled with the meal and us husbands decided to just split the check 50⁄50. Each bill came to $ 98.00 and change, plus a tip! We would like to go back another time and sample their steak entrees when we were hungrier but we all decided that we were too disappointed in the simplest of meals to even try again. There are too many other quality steakhouses to try to be bogged down with trying to find something special about Bobby Van’s.

I’ve been here twice in the last couple of years for retirement dinners and the place does not disappoint. From the bar service to the appetizers to the main course to the sides and to dessert. Everything is on point. Highly recommend.

Read some of the mixed reviews but decided to eat here, as it was recommended. The meal was out of sight; we ordered the Porterhouse Steak, had a group of 5, one of them was done medium and one done medium rare, I recommend medium rare. Mashed potatoes were fluffy, asparagus and spinach were tasty as well. Service was a little slow with the water and separate bread plates, however it was good overall service. Only negative thing I would add is this place is expensive. Porterhouse for 3($ 164.85), Porterhouse for 2(109.90), Beers $ 8.50 ea, Wine $ 15.75 ea, sides were $ 12.95.

We were referred to this classic white tablecloth and waiter steak house. Upon arrival we were immediately shown a comfortable corner table, next to a server station, which is ironic, because it took longer than it should have to refresh our empty drinks. It also took 15 minutes to get a dessert menu. My companion had the shrimp scampi; well seasoned, and a smooth flavor profile, where the shrimp were the stars. I had spaghetti with scallops, shrimp, and lobster; a melody for my mouth from the sea, and filling(with the spaghetti). Tiramisu ended our dinner; a mild flavor, where other Tiramisus’ have a richer flavor. I would have given them 4 stars if we had received better service.

The food and service were really good. Pricey like the rest of New York. 4 of us split the calamari as an appetizer — it was a good portion for the 4 and pretty good overall. For the entre my mom and I shared the veal parm(great! Huge portion!) and a fish which was also very good(although I briefly forgot what it even was… so not THAT memorable). For dessert we split two desserts, both of which were rich and delicious. I’m a fan… but probably wouldn’t go back because it was expensive and there are so many other things to try!

Came here for a work team lunch and we were all satisfied with our plates but no one was blown away. The fresh bread basket was a hit because we were all starving and they replensihed that quickly for us. The food on the other hand took forever. I could understand if they were jam packed but they honestly weren’t. They had a few other lunch tables but it didn’t seem like they were overwhelmed. Drinks were filled promptly and service was nice, but I had to ask after about 20mins of waiting for our food. No one ordered anything elaborate — steak sandwiches, burgers, salads, and I had the lobster roll. As for the lobster roll, I was disappointed at first glance. It came served in a wrapped tortilla… how does that make sense? Okay maybe it was shaped like a roll, or sushi roll, but it wasn’t on a traditional roll. I would not have ordered it if I knew it was on a wrap tortilla because I don’t like tortillas on anything but cooked enchiladas not even on a burrito. I unwrapped my lobster salad from the tortilla and ate it with the left over bread in the basket which ended up being pretty good. The lobster salad itself was quite tasty after being revealed from it’s bland tortilla covering. Overall the experience was pretty lack luster for a steakhouse lunch with slow service. We all agreed Del Frisco’s lunch service is much better and we will just go back there next time.
