Bond No. 9

My friends and I went to this location to see if they had a better selection then Saks. The customer service was border line offensive. This snotty girl was so flipping rude that we actually left and went right to Saks to spend our money! Newsflash snotty salesgirl… You work in retail! Do not act like you are above anyone! Do yourself a favor and go here just for shits and giggles to laugh at the pathetic girl who works there

My boyfriend took me here to introduce me to the perfumes, and we had one of the most ridiculous customer service experiences we’ve ever had (in a negative sense). Both of the sales associates who were working here were extremely rude to us, literally looking down at us from her nose. Both of them accosted us with the same question (do you know about the brand?) within about a minute of each other. Clearly they have poor communication amongst the sales associates here too. According to my boyfriend, this was the rudest group of sales associates he’d ever encountered at a Bind No. 9 store.
Will not be purchasing any Bond No. 9 perfumes. My boyfriend is in love with one scent and I was considering buying him this as a holiday gift or anniversary gift, but I do not want to support this business, especially because I am now aware that there was a lawsuit filed against the owner, who apparently had sales associates use the code, «We need the light bulbs changed» (or something similar), to indicate when a black person had come into the store. Gross business overall. And they have ugly packaging.

After deciding that I wanted to get my dad cologne or some sort of fragrance as part of his birthday gift, we popped into Bond No. 9’s Meatpacking District location. Fully aware of the fact that their perfumes are as pricey as they are intoxicating, I had a gander around the store. A friendly saleswoman who somewhat resembled Gisele Bundchen asked me what I was looking for, and I told her that I wanted to get my dad a fragrance and that he likes the clean, sometimes unisex, and even a bit soapy scents provided that they aren’t too herbal (ie he enjoys dabbing on Le Labo Bergamot, CKOne, and Acqua di Parma). She let me try all of the offerings they had meeting that specific criteria; surprisingly, there were quite a few!
While Bleecker Street (all of their scents have New York-​themed names) was a perfect match, I became concerned that it was too perfect. What if my dad already had it? The saleswoman then showed me a gift set that included everything I had just tested plus a couple of their classic scents. I happily purchased that, and received a pile of samples for me and my husband. I was told that if my dad only liked one bottle in the gift set, he could exchange it for a large bottle of his choice. I have a feeling he will enjoy dabbling a bit. The look on his face was priceless when he opened the box.
The store itself is rather fun in design, and in my experience, the customer service was fabulous. I will be back once I finish my samples!

I dropped by this location with my boyfriend earlier today and had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had shopping in New York. A female sales associate was hanging out in the doorway and as we approached the narrow entrance she barely moved to let us in. This gave us the impression that although we were dressed nicely, in her eyes, we were not only out of place, but unwelcome.
Once we were inside, my boyfriend explained to her that we wanted to make a fragrence together as a birthday present for me. She asked if we «knew what they do here» and immediately brought up a price, as if to scare us away. She was generally unhelpful and brushed us off as if she couldn’t be bothered.
The entire situation was very cold, unprofessional, racist and rude. I will not support a business that assumes from the doorway who is worth helping. Bond No. 9, it looks like some of your staff needs to be weeded out, customer service should be a priority.

My husband and I have both enjoyed Bond No 9 for years. We were staying at The Standard and decided to drop into the Bond store. We had no expectations to buy a new fragrance but after meeting Viola and talking with her about our preferences she blew us away with her association of our past cologne purchases and on her first recommendation, she nailed our scent inclination. Viola has an uncanny knowledge of knowing what a client may like by just knowing the Bond’s we already have and recommending a new scent based just on that information. We found it amazing that she identified with the specific flavor notes of what we liked. Needless to say, we bought something and had it sent to us back in CA after having no intention of buying anything. Viola’s impressive customer service and product knowledge were enough for us to encourage her to keep us in mind as new fragrances are introduced. I highly recommend stopping in this small boutique to have a unique one-​of-​a-​kind experience with Viola.

I would write a –Negative number of stars if I could… Previously went in and purchased a $ 90 travel size perfume bottle that I liked (a manager helped us that visit and was friendly). I only sprayed it a couple times at home and the bottles foil packaging instantly came off and speckles got all over my purse. So we went today with hopes to exchange it since it was a faulty product. We were poorly eyed instead of a nice welcome. A tall young woman named Viola helped us with the rudest attitude and service I have ever received. She stated they no longer carried that bottle and there was nothing they could do (I simply wanted to do an even exchange or even exchange it for something less expensive since it no longer even sprays, not like I was asking for my money back). I have never been treated so rude when shopping. I have spent plenty of money there in the past… They now lost me as a customer! I can’t believe BondNo.9NYC would have such a horrible person representing their brand. Shame on you Viola, learn some manners and how to have a hint of kindness (customers pay her paycheck — how rude of you). Thanks for ruining my day with your attitude, best of luck to you!
