My eyebrows were looking a little frazzled because of my threading experiences. I had one eyebrow higher than the other and I looked crazy. I decided to grow my eyebrows for a few months and go to boom boom brow to see if they can make my eyebrows look normal again. They did an excellent job with my brows. Danielle did not take a lot off and gave me advice about growing them in. I went during lunch and there was no wait at all for me. I will be back.

Just got back from my first visit to Boom Boom and hot damn. I think I’m in love. Michelle worked wonders for my unsightly brows and I could not be happier. I have been going to the same brow place for years in Jersey but was looking for a place closer to work that would be more convenient. Thanks to a Refinery29 article about the best brows in NYC I discovered Boom Boom Brows just a quick 6⁄7 clock walk from my office! A visit to their website told me about happy hour– just $ 26 for a brow AND ‘stache wax Monday-​Friday, 4:00 — 5:00? Count me in. Not only will I be back but I am recommending Michelle to everyone I know!

Danielle did my brows the best! This 3 stars is for her work, however, it would’ve been nice if she ever remembered me… as often as I went there– No one ever remembered me or my name. & for some reason, would never ask me my name at the counter like they did a lot of the other customers. I had an «account», no one cared. I won’t pull the race card…
Anyway, I’ve had my brows waxed by a few people and the results were very mediocre. To their credit, I do have difficult brows to work with and I’m extremely picky about the results. I can only remember ONE time that I walked out of there like «Wow!» and that was when Danielle did them. (MY NAME IS LIA, BTW)
As for the service– meh, my experience of being practically invisible there obviously wasn’t the best, but when they did acknowledge me… they were always kind, at least :)
I haven’t gone back there in about 8 months due to mediocre results topped with bad customer service. Perhaps if they remembered my name… the mediocre waxing would’ve sufficed.
I’ll only go there again in a clutch– since you don’t need an appointment.

My first time getting my brows done professionally and I’m so glad I trusted Boom Boom to do them right! Came in around 2:30 on a Friday and it was already somewhat busy, but I only ended up waiting about 5 minutes after grabbing my number. The store is small but cozy and cheery — I loved the bras hanging on the chandelier and the cute pink stools.
I told Janelle it was my first time and she was very professional and thorough, telling me exactly what she planned on doing to my brows and giving me care tips for after the tint and wax. I was definitely nervous because I’ve heard horror stories of brows being overwaxed, but she did a fantastic job on my brows, which are now tidy, even, and look fuller than they ever have! I’ll definitely be back here for my next wax.

I LOVED my experience at Boom Boom Brow Bar! I had so much fun with the ladies and Baby, the owner’s dog. What a cute spot with amazing music — I didn’t want to leave! :-)
I am growing out my brows – a long process — and stopped in for a clean up. I live in Washington, DC and unfortunately we are limited in terms of good brow places. Jennifer was amazing-​she listened to what I wanted and did exactly as I asked. PLUS, I finally got a brow tint and now I am addicted!!!
Good thing I travel to NYC once a month so I can see these ladies!!! No one else will touch my brows!

This place is so great!!! I have been wanting to get my brows in shape for some time now but was waiting to find the right place… Boom Boom got the job done! Not only are my brows looking better then ever, but the team is extremely friendly and the overall experience was fun. Only thing I would change is that they only allow walk ins which may be tough with my work schedule. I happened to be off from work the day I walked in but normally I I would have to go after work and I would it would be pretty busy. Other then that, LOVE this place and can’t wait to go back!

Finally. Someone who gets my brows!
Recently, every other hair removal salon has taken too much off my brows & they also try to compensate with brow tint. Not Brow Bar! Danielle worked wonders. My brows are shaped perfectly for my face & look fuller.
One thing: Depending on which time you go, there may be a long wait. But it is worth the wait and worth every penny.

This was my first time ever having anything professionally done to my eyebrows and it was an amazing experience! After doing research for hours online, I settled on here because it was close to my house and had great reviews. I was not disappointed! I walked in around 1:15 on a Monday and was the only one in the store — by the time I left around 1:45 things were a little crowded but no one was waiting for that long!
Jessica both tinted and then waxed my brows and was amazing! She listened to what I wanted done, made some suggestions and made sure to check the tint 5 minutes in so that it didn’t get too dark. I was worried about being waxed because I had never done that before but she called me down and was so nice about it! Worth every penny!
Also — tipping is cash only but there’s an ATM in the Duane reade next door.

Janelle is the queen of dope brows. We had a quick discussion about my misshapen, overgrown eyebrows and she got to work and delivered. She even recommended a serum that would help them grow back. As a guy I also want brows that don’t look overdone, and after years of waxing, threading, and tweezing, I can say with confidence that this is the most natural they have ever looked after having them worked on. The wax at this place was also much less irritating to my sensitive skin than other places I’ve been to. I can see people getting frustrated because this is a small place, but everything was perfect — will definitely be going back!

Went here the other day for the first time and am definitely a fan. Great location, and LOVE the décor. Bras on the lights are so fun.
I normally see my go-​to brow gal from LA, but her schedule is tough, so I needed a more local place for the months that I can’t see her.
I saw Jennifer who was super sweet (and GORGEOUS) and she gave me what I asked for! I like ‘em thick and juicy, wait, that’s burger talk, nvm? I like my ‘em full and dark, and she tinted me super dark and tweezed, stray hairs be damned! She was super quick, and she recommended a brow filler pen for when the tint starts to wear off, which is pretty quick for me since my hair is fine and has issues grasping the tint, ergggghghghh.
I agree with another reviewer about the chairs, a little uncomfy but I’m not mad about it, they’re better than the subway seats, amirite?
Only thing I don’t really like is how they’re walk in only. I got lucky the first time since they weren’t crazy busy, but I’m thinking I may not be so lucky next time. All in all though, it’s a great spot and I’ll definitely be back!

My experience here was GREAT!!! First, I LOVED that they take walk ins. So many salons make you get an appointment for your brows and the times are never convenient. Second, the staff was SO friendly which was very nice and pleasant. I enjoyed the girl who did my brows she seemed very knowledgeable and did an amazing job on my brows. Also I did love the wax, it felt high quality. I 100% will be back !

Boom Boom is a tiny shop, with a few stools for services. You take a number at the door (when it’s busy), and wait where you can. This place obviously has a loyal following, and I see why: the estheticians are friendly, precise and FAST (the key for waxing!). The woman who waxed my brows was great, and I was very happy with the results.
I will say though, with all the great waxing/​threading spots in the area, you can definitely find cheaper. I know it’s NYC, but $ 27 for three strips of wax is pretty steep. I usually don’t pay more than $ 15. If I was in a pinch I’d come back, but unless you’re in the same situation, I’d say go elsewhere.

Used to love this place but they have gotten way too busy and don’t appear to handle the crowd well. If I’m going to be waiting 40m for an eyebrow wax, your receptionist should announce it (so that I know to leave) and whats the point of the receptionist with a ticket machine and counter on the wall. They do fine with brows but I will happily go back to my nail salon and pay $ 10 with no wait for just as good of a job.

It’s been 15 years since I have let anyone touch my brows. I’m in the performing arts, so eyebrows are especially important to my look.
Because I was a little nervous, I think Jenny took extra time with me during our consult to ensure I would be getting what I wanted.
We decided on a tint and wax and she advised me what to do before my next appointment. The wax was over before I knew it and Jenny checked in on me a few times to make sure I was doing okay. The care and efficiency was above and beyond.
I think the only unpleasant aspect of my entire experience were the chairs. They aren’t very comfortable and I felt like I was more standing than sitting. When I go to a salon for any service, part of my expectation is that I feel at ease and relaxed.
I would (and did!) recommend Boom Boom to friends and am absolutely coming back in 3 weeks for my next appointment.

I was dreading coming here simply because I’ve had such bad experiences getting my brows done and due to that haven’t gotten them done in way too long. I did have to wait 25 minutes and was a bit put off by having to take a number just like at the deli counter however had a great experience. Danielle showed me what shape she envisioned as we went along making sure I was onboard and did an amazing job shaping my brows. She did not even fill them in with makeup at the end which I was thrilled with since most brow places do this to mask what they have done and you are completely disappointed when taking off the brow makeup. Two thumbs up, my brows have not looked this good in a long time. Price for the tweezing was $ 31 however the price for waxing is less I believe. They also offer tinting services. I’ll be back.

My time with Laura was absolutely amazing! She was genuinely interested in my skin care routine and explained to me how certain face treatments would affect my wax session. She told me about the gentle ingredients the company used and just in case did a patch test to make sure my skin didn’t react horribly. It’s been ¾ days since my session and I haven’t suffered any breakouts in my eyebrow area!
She gave me a clean and natural shape that I love! And also recommended the brow tint for my next session. I’m definitely coming back.
