Pleasant experience We were here after a matinée about 5 – 5:30 on a Saturday night. Within an a half hour every table was taken. The price fixed menu was ok, not amazing but tasty. The Greek tapas were terrific. Good service, easy dining experience.

Meh. I’ve had way better. Popped in for a pre theater cocktail with some friends. Not a friendly vibe. 12 bux for well drinks that are mostly juice and a small glass. Now I know this isn’t the only place who does this but perhaps if we STOP accepting it we can change it. No reason to come back and have more than that drink. Sorry.

This place is just ok. You would expect spectacular service when it’s slow(empty) but no. It was just ok service, ok food, ok drinks, and the bartender constantly left the bar to go talk. Been here twice and I won’t be going back for a third time. Was a one star but they earned another star because hostess was cute and she was accommodating. Wish they all followed her lead

Stay away. The service is slow. The water boy is harsh when you ask for olive oil, he says, «what?» Food is poor and service is poor!!! Who advertises for something and brings something entirely different? An arugula salad with goat cheese and honey walnuts is what I requested and is not the same as romaine lettuce with tomatoes and mozzarella balls. Gross. A medium rare steak requested is not an overcooked piece of rubber bands. Stay away!

Tried to get a table for 2, the hostess said they had no open tables. We turned around, a family of 4 came through the door, asked if they had anything for 4pp, and she immediately sat them at a table right by the door that was empty. No they didn’t have a reservation, and they were dressed even more casually then us(in case pp were wondering if that was the issue). While I know it’s not Illegal to deny us a table, it was def NOT a good experience and I would warn anyone else about eating there, because what else are they ‘being selective’ about?

The worst service I ever had in a NYC restaurant. Bar none. First time I ever have less than 20% tip. And this was Sunday breakfast

It was my third time here and tried going in for a drink. This time we came in to an empty restaurant and wanted to just get a drink at the bar. However the hostess would not allow us to get a drink at the bar and said it was full despite there being plenty of room to stand, few tables with people eating, and end of pre-theater rush. We said, «if we can’t stand at the bar area for a drink we can go someone else, they seemed uninterested» and we just went down 46th street to many other restaurants. As I read in other reviews and agree, service is below par. It is a great location for pre-theater and midtown people watching, the bartender was great last time we were there and made a tasty martini. But be ready for inefficiency.

I met up with my BFF for NYE. Thanks to Hub, we scored front access row to the Times Sq. Ball Drop! We met up for dinner & drinks first. It was practically impossible to find a spot that was not crowded or required reservations. Fortunately, we head further on 8th Ave &45th and found Brasserie Athenee. They had a full bar in the front and it looked like a cozy and chic French bistro. We browse through the NYE menu and it looked pretty promising. For the hors d’oeuvres, a choice of La Soupe Du Jour, mixed field greens, Mediterranean Tapas or cheese plate and Charcuterie. The entrée was Mediterranean Lamb Shank, Duck Confit, Seafood Risotto, Fennel Crusted Seared Salmon, Sauteed Pork Tenderloin Medallions, or a vegetarian option. For dessert, it was between crème brulée or chocolate mousse. The food was not exceptional but it was not bad. It was decent given the NYE menu choices. I opt for the Mediterranean tapas. There was grape leaves, baba ghannoug, caviar spread, tzatziki, and olives with grilled pita. I had better but it was not bad. The pita arrived fresh and hot. I was not too crazy about the caviar spread. It had an orange texture with roe that was very salty. The grape leaves was definitely old. Same with my BFF who picked the same hors d’oeuvres and took a few bites. I had the duck confit that taste much better. It paired well with the caramelized onions and armanac dates jus. Overall, the duck confit was prepped and cooked well. For the dessert, I had the crème brulée. It was ok. The caramelized sugar was a bit dense. It could had been saved if it had been made fresh. Instead, it taste old. I also got a latte since it was getting late. Sadly, it was made even better compared to the dessert. In addition, I had the martini that taste watered down. My BFF had two glasses of house wine. Our waiter was great and checked up on us to make sure everything was ok. For NYE in the area, this was a pretty good choice. It allowed a comfortable spot to chat and drink without the crazy, over-packed commotion of a pub/bar esp in Times Sq. However, if it were for a regular dining spot, I would had gone with another choice.

Food was decent but service was really slow and not friendly. Waited about 20 minutes before server came to take our order and never checked back after. Had to ask for check. Not returning.

Popped in for an early lunch in the midst of buying theater tickets as a Christmas present. The place was filled with tourists, who are very uncritical. It was fun watching them(native New Yorker here), but I am critical and was disappointed in every aspect of this experience: a dull Caesar salad for which I had to wait close to 20 minutes, inattentive service and poor music choice(teen soundtrack). Done…

Just at the corner of Restaurant Row, you’ll find this restaurant. My hubby and I always go to another place down the street but decided to try a new place and kind of regretted our decision.(I shoulda checked out the Unilocal reviews before) The ambiance and place looks great. Cozy, cute, and well decorated. Our waiter was great too. Attentive and pleasant. We ordered a beer and wine along with grilled squid as an app. The squid was decent but I wouldn’t recommend it. It was missing something and was a little chewy for me. For our entrees we ordered seafood risotto and pappardelle with meat sauce. Both were good but nothing special. The seafood risotto came with a scallop, 2 shrimp, and clams(as seen in the pic). All in all not terrible but I wouldn’t come back. There are many other places to choose from in the neighborhood.

I read the reviews but we enjoyed it. Though I will say the broth in the French onion soup was lighter than I prefer– almost like they use a chicken instead of beef broth. I am not sure. The atmosphere and view are amazing and the food was really good. We sat there for about 2 hours enjoying and they never made us feel rushed even though we had one of their best tables. The owner greeted us and that was a nice touch.

This is a decent French bistro in the theatre district. We came here about 90 minutes before our show, and that was about perfect as they were a little short staffed that Sunday afternoon. Service was good and the food is decent. Prices are typical of what would find in NYC. In the end, I would come back but it would not be my first choice as there are tons of great dining options in the Big Apple. I wasn’t too hungry so I had the yogurt, granola and berry bowl – it exceeded my expectations! It was huge with lots of fruit. They use really good, well strained Greek yogurt. Granola was fresh. My partner had the frisee salad; it looked good but he said he had had better… See pics!

It’s an absolute disgrace to the Resturant business. The owner stands at the door as if he is the sheriff. Knows nothing about customer service and or how to treat his clients. You feel unwelcome from the moment you step in. He walks around looking and micromanaging every single table and his employees. He has a frown on his face as if someone has forced him to come in. By the look on his employees face, it’s evident that he treats them no different than his customer. Even the ONE STARBis too much for this place.

Food was awful, services was awful… I wish we could give negative ratings. This place seriously needs to go out of business. Unfortunately, with its close proximity to TimeSquare, they’ll remain open, and continue to dupe unsuspecting tourist.

I was very pleased with the service and food — i’ve had a croque madamme and tea and it was very good. the croque comes with fries and salad so it is big — if you are a couple and not very very hungry you could split it.

Stopped in with friends to grab a snack after seeing a Broadway show. In short, the food is pretty good. Maybe 3.4 to 4 stars good from what we had. However, service was slow and lethargic. It took awhile for the food arrive also. It was late and maybe they wanted to shut down, but then they shouldn’t have seated us. Prices aren’t bad considering you’re in Times Square.

It’s true that you get what you pay for, so given the prices and location I wasn’t really surprised when this place ended up being more or less a gussied-up Greek diner. Food was ‘meh’ and took a very long time to come. My potatoes were practically cold, and my dad’s pancakes didn’t arrive until well after the rest of us had our food. The décor is pretty, with brocaded chairs and high ceilings and iron chandeliers, but it still just felt like a diner playing dress-up. On the plus side, we were able to get a nice table in the window immediately during the Saturday brunch rush, and the prices were significantly lower than most places in the Theater District. If you want pre-matinée brunch in the area you should really think ahead and make a reservation somewhere better, but in a pinch this’ll do.
