BRIC provides online language training that gives people the tools they need for success in a globally competitive age. Unlike other online language learning programs, we don’t take a «one size fits all approach» to learning a language. We recognize that the best system for learning Spanish will not work for Mandarin Chinese, and that what works for learning Russian will not work if you want to learn Brazilian Portuguese or Spanish.

History

Established in 2011.

Ryan McMunn, CEO of BRIC Language Systems and Kassey Wong founded BRIC in 2011 after both successfully learned languages they struggled with. Their goal was to make language learning interesting and as effortless as possible.

Because of their innovative approach to language training, BRIC won the Hot in 2015 Owler Award and have been seen on Fox Business, CCTV and Reuters. BRIC is also featured in Entrepreneur and Huffington Post.

My name is Ryan McMunn, founder of BRIC Language Systems. As the former VP of Asian Operations at a US manufacturing firm based in Shanghai, I spent 5 years struggling to learn Mandarin. I tried immersion classes, «innovative computer programs,» flash cards, and anything else I could get my hands on. After several failed attempts, I found a school in Shanghai whose teaching method was built specifically for Mandarin Chinese. Unlike other language learning programs, which are built for one language and then applied to all languages, this was built to accommodate the unique aspects of the Chinese language. After only a few months I was finally speaking Mandarin fluently with friends and colleagues. This success sparked my desire to utilize cutting edge technology to bring local teachers, and tailor made language learning programs, to students everywhere.
