Broadway at Times Square Hotel

The most important aspect of this hotel is that its location is super convenient for those whose urban jungle dreams consist mostly of attending Broadway shows.
Beyond that, the rooms are a wee bit tiny, and the continental breakfast serves fairly tasty donuts. Also, unlike pretty much any other modern elevator, don’t try to stick your finger in a closing door to try and gain entry. It’ll get caught and people will stand there looking at you for a few minutes without trying to do anything. I guess that’s an authentic New York experience?
Summary: Right where all the lights are bright.

I have given this hotel 3 stars based on my experience with check-​in. The front desk attendant (Ivonne and Bell man Sidbli were very friendly, efficient and helpful. (They even let us check-​in early!) However, we returned from our activities to find the elevator was broken. We asked 3 different staff members when it would be fixed, and all gave non-​committal responses (shrugging shoulders, mumbling, admitting this is a regular occurrence.) The night staff is not very friendly, personable, or helpful. I’m far from lazy but I’ve just come off my 4^th knee surgery and I’m on the 8^th floor! I had to scale 8 flights one stair at a time. The staff and management were not concerned in the least. What about persons on crutches and in wheel chairs?! Not a disabled friendly hotel at all. I read other reviewers complaints about the elevator after already checking in. Beware, elevator has issues!!!

Clean, clean, clean!!! Sure the rooms are small. But your in NYC! The staff is great. The breakfast is perfect. The hotel is Clean, did I mention that?
Half a block from times square. We heard no real noise from anything even outside.
Some people said the walls were thin and the elevator was slow and noisy. We did not think so.
We will stay again.

My husband and I chose this hotel for our first trip to NYC. Upon our, very early, arrival we discovered they didn’t have our reservation due to a glitch in booking through Expedia. The staff was very helpful in getting us the exact room we wanted and allowed early check in. Everytime we walked in and out we were greeted by every staff member we passed.
The breakfast was basic but it saved us from having to get dressed early to go out and grab something. The room was small but clean. An older mattress on the bed but for the price of the hotel it was more than sufficient.
We will stay here on our next visit!

It is a good value right off Times Square. My family stayed here for three days over Easter. Rooms were clean and updated, breakfast included. Big discount on parking across the street.
What really made the difference was the staff. It’s a boutique hotel and you got to know the staff pretty quickly. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Jovannie in particular really went out of his way to make sure our stay went well. Starting out before we arrived and throughout our stay. He took a personal interest in making sure everything worked out well for us

If you’re looking for a clean, affordable, and near Times Square, this might be you’re kind of place!
Pros:
–Super close to Times Square. It’s on the same corner as Express.
–Relatively inexpensive for the area. Stayed from March 1−5^th and paid $ 109.49 a night. But don’t forget, there’s sales, city, and occupancy tax and Javit’s convention fee tacked on per day.
–Free breakfast includes: pancakes, waffles, hard boiled egg, cereal (two kinds), bagels, muffins, bread (for toasting), donuts, oranges, apples, bananas, coffee, milk, orange and cranberry juice.
–Free wifi!
–Free business center, which was great for printing out boarding passes.
Cons:
–Light sleepers, I highly recommend bringing ear plugs. The walls are thin (can hear neighbor’s tv) and since it’s next door to a church, you’ll hear bells ringing.
–No conditioner. Bring your own!
–Small room and narrow hallways.
–1 elevator. (Since we were on the 4^th floor, we usually walked down.)
–No view! Our window looked out to a brick wall.
All in all, I would stay here again due to the location! I love my Broadway musicals and it’s within walking distance to all the major theatres.

I was there for a Saturday night while attending VKL at the Marriott Marquis. It was a short walk from the venue and much less than the group rate the show was offering. The room I had was on the top floor, a King room. It was spacious enough to walk all around the bed, which I could not do with a queen bed at the Shoreham. The staff was very friendly, offered to put the football game on one of the big screens in the breakfast room if I wanted to eat my take out there. I checked in and checked out very easily. They offered to store my bag until after my morning session, but I decided to take it with me (not because I didn’t trust them, but I was going to the train station and didn’t want to backtrack). The bath had plenty of hot water and I didn’t need to leave it to change my mind or dry off after my shower. There was a desk and swivel chair as well as a separate upholstered chair. Not the tiny room you usually find at this price point. I would definitely stay there again if I was doing something in the Times Square area. For the price, this rates 5 stars.

to book however! I had read some reviews that rooms were not reserved and given away so I was apprehensive. I paid September 20^th in full for a trip December 2^nd. Upon check in, they said they hadn’t been paid by
so I was afraid something shady was going down. I called Bookit and they paid them but it was an added stressor. The hotel handled my anger well, they got me checked in and we were off!
The rooms are small (hellooooo its NYC) but equipped well enough for a comfortable stay. The beds are comfortable! You can hear what’s going on out in the hall and unfortunately some people could care less if they disturb you. Most other visitors were older, not a lot of young people. Breakfast was decent, it held us over until we got lunch. If you are looking for a decent place in a great location, this is it!

Very affordable and in a great location. Without being in the center of Times Square but just a few minutes away by foot. Staff is very friendly, informative and caring. Breakfast was free and very good. They have fruit, coffee, juices, bagels, muffins, oatmeal and more! The only down fall was the size of the hotel which was fairly small and he rooms were also very crapped, but it’s NY what would you expect? Lol

Better than expected experience at the Broadway @ Times Square Hotel. My company booked this hotel for me during a business trip. The rates are very reasonable for this area during the week ($ 179/​nt). You can’t beat that in Times Square/​Theater District. This is a boutique hotel located half a block away from Times Square, so if you are looking for convenience and location in that area, this is a good choice for lodging.
Check-​in was a breeze and I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities provided at no extra charge. Free wifi, nationwide calling, use of macs/​printers and continental breakfast. Most hotels charge for wifi, computer use and phone calls. It was nice to be able to print my boarding pass without having to pay to use the computer room. They also have a small gym which I did not use with two treadmills. While I did not have the continental breakfast, I did pick up some whole fruits on my mornings there. The breakfast is pretty basic with bagels, cereal, muffins and such.
I stayed in a standard queen room on the fifth floor. This is New York, so I expected the room to be small. Even so, it was fine for little ol’ me and even would have been OK for a couple. The room was clean and well-​kept. Pretty basic but everything that I needed. The small coffeemaker was a nice to have as well. Bed was comfy. The floor was quiet on the days I stayed there even though my room was next to the elevator.
The bellman was incredibly friendly as were all the staff at the front desk. They were very helpful in arranging a black car for me instead of a taxi for a discounted rate. Sometimes there is a shuttle to the airport ($ 25), but you have to tell them ahead of time so that they can call for you. it isn’t available every day and supposedly only once an hour if available. Overall, good value for the location and quality of hotel.

Yikes. Maybe New York travelers have lower standards since hotels in Times Sq are so expensive. Looks redone in shared quarters, but this place has paper thin walls, tight fits in the room and an overall strange vibe. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean, but I’ll look for something else when I return to NYC.
Floors were also very dirty in our room — bare feet turned black quickly. May be good for tourists, but business travelers should look elsewhere.

The housekeeping for my room was beyond PATHETIC!!!
I checked into my room and pulled down the sheets and was in horror.
There were tons of yellow stains on the entire sheets.
Stupid me — did not say anything but sleep on the floor.
The next day the maid ran into me and asked me how my rooms was — was it nice and clean. I said well. She will see and change the sheets
Well, later that very day the same sheets were on the bed. I mean there stains that were over 12 inches long. I wish that I would have taken a picture. The $ 5 tip that was sitting on the 15 inch stain was gone.
I thought great I am on the floor again. Then I thought hell no. I called management at 1 AM and finally send somebody up to the room to change my sheets.
I asked the management can I get a discount on my first night or the next time I visit New York. Management said that they will upgrade my queen room to a king room next time I returned to NYC. Well, I returned to NYC several times but not to the hotel.
However, the rest of the staff and hotel was nice.

A friend and I stayed here for 5 nights earlier this month. It’s a small, almost boutique hotel. The lobby, though small was lovely. The breakfast area was quite large and was never crowded. Everything was great: the newly remodeled rooms were clean, bed and bath linens were good quality, continental breakfast was plentiful and fresh, and our room was sooo quiet. We stayed on the 2^nd floor, which meant we were a quick (and safe) flight of stairs from the lobby. The location was really convenient — just a block or so from Times Square. eW went to multiple Broadway shows and always felt safe walking back to the hotel. All staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

The room (which was a bargain at $ 169, after tax) was very clean, newly renovated, and the bedding and pillows were spotless and super comfy. It had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room, and there is a free (albeit mediocre) continental breakfast. Free WiFi. The in-​room thermostat was very responsive.
The front desk was friendly and efficient.
It’s a very small hotel, in a narrow building. The corridors are tight, but if all you need is a good place to sleep in midtown, this is a fine option. There are loads of restaurants, delis, and drug stores nearby for necessities, and of course loads of shopping destinations.
I work in New York City and I have stayed here three times now for major storms (Sandy, Irene and Juno). It’s now my go-​to option.
I do wish the cups in the room weren’t disposable. I’d prefer cups made of glass/​ceramic.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Very clean very nice! Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was sufficient everything was fresh nothing fancy but I’m nice wide variety regular breakfast foods. This will definitely be my go-​to hotel when I come to New York

The worst hotel I’ve ever been with, the rooms are super small and the elevator so slow and sometimes it stops and take hours to fix it !! Make sure that you use the stairs for your safety !! But we can’t use the stairs because we are at the 9^th floor !! And guess whats we went all up there by the stairs because the elevator was out of service definitely The Worse !! if u have old people dont even think about getting near that nightmare !

This review is for a stay in October 2013. I went to NY with my parents, and we had two rooms. My mom found the hotel on a travel site, and it was very reasonably priced, so we were all really afraid: Times Square = noisy, old hotel = rundown, less expensive = mildewed. This hotel was exactly the opposite of all that: the rooms were lovely and very clean, and it was literally the quietest NYC hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was super friendly, and even the breakfast was great.
We are from NY, and this was a trip back to visit relatives, see a show, and just spend a fun time. This hotel, with its super convenient location, allowed us easy access to everything. We were actually shocked at how much we liked it… lol.
Staff was super accommodating. They put our rooms next to each other and although our layouts were very different, the rooms were both very clean, quiet, and modern.
Reminds me more of a boutique microtel you’d find in Europe, and I liked it SO much better than the Marriott Marquis or any of the huge hotels around.

I stayed for five nights here in January and for a budget hotel it was absolutely fine.
Wonderful location for theatre, great beds, decent bathrooms. Very small rooms and corridors but you’re in NYC, you only need to be in your room to get clean and sleep, ok? The «buffet» breakfast isn’t stellar but hey, a free glass of juice and a bagel is all I need, so I was happy.
The staff are all so helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

If their was an option for 0 stars I’d pick that. I’m writing this review CURRENTLY from the room I’m staying in. Its interesting to see that they had renovations being done back in December cause its April and they have no lobby, no working elevator, no gym, and oh yeah THE FIFTH FLOOR SMELLS LIKE MARIJUANA. I hope to God that someone looks into this because the front desk, manager, nor their corporate office/​line/​reservations cares enough to come upstairs and fix the issue. $ 240 for a 2 double bed room, originally on the 9^th floor but they gave us two separate single bed rooms on the 5^th floor, I feel bad for people who aren’t used to lifting weight.
The stairway has room for one person to walk through at a time, I have a 40 lb bag to carry up the stairs and my co-​worker had a similar sized bag as well. They offered to change our rooms to either another room on the same floor (wtf) or repack my bags and go upstairs. Since when did customer service mean jack to companies?
False advertisement will not get you far in business and neither will lack of accommodation. Its not that hard to update your website and be honest about the reconstruction/​renovations in the hotel. Its better if people go elsewhere rather than be highly disappointed and unhappy with your service.
