My best friend and I(from GA and CA) are staying here in the village and we have eaten a breakfast, lunch and a dinner here. Good service, good food and at a fair price. You can eat inside or outside and a great people watching place! Kudos!!!

Great place, great menu and amazing service. Stopped by this morning for the first time. Food was tasty, fresh, reasonably priced and decent proportions.

A great neighborhood diner with a tucked in outside seating area right on a corner for entertaining people watching. The service is quick and courteous, food is above average as far as neighborhood diners go. Their paninis are delicious but made on a flatbread rather than the usual ciabatta or other European breads. And you should try their pancakes or any of their omelette plates. Atmosphere is equally welcomimg and cozy, recommended spot for breakfast, lunch or brunch.

Really fresh-tasting mimosas. Had the $ 17 «berry good» breakfast special: a waffle topped with yogurt, honey, almonds, strawberries and blueberries. Comes with an alcoholic drink of choice(mimosa, sangria, rtc) and a choice of coffee, tea or juice. They asked to refill my coffee possibly 20 times, but somehow managed to do it unobtrusively. Great, kind staff and good atmosphere. Cheaper options also available. A nice West Village visit, for sure!

A few friends and I stumbled upon the Bus Stop Café while walking through the West Village when we got lost. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and overall restaurant experience, especially since we didn’t really know what to expect at all. The service was very good, and we constantly had people coming over to check on us, our enjoyment of the food, and refilling my coffee. We were there for brunch so I can’t speak for the dinner service or food, but I was impressed that they had very quick and efficient service without losing politeness. The restaurant was packed around 12 for brunch/lunch time, and a line began to gather shortly after we left. I ordered the Berry Good Waffle. It was delicious, and I really enjoyed the flavors of the honey, fruit, and almonds with the really fluffy waffle! There was a lot of greek yogurt on the waffle though, and I ended up scraping it off after just because I could feel myself getting a little sick. My other friends ordered the Spinach Pie which I thought was good, but after a while tasted slightly like unfrozen spinach, and my other friend ordered the Italiano Panini which I didn’t get a chance to try. My waffle and coffee ended up coming out to over 17 $ and with tip it was about 21 $. I understand that this is NYC, but I did think it was a bit overpriced for a waffle. So I had to dock a star for the pricing. I would recommend this place, but probably wouldn’t come here on a regular basis because its just a bit too expensive.

Used to be better back in 2009. Recently, it’s been average. I like the neighborhood vibes though.

We ate here the other day before visiting the Whitney museum. I ordered a pastrami reuben and my partner ordered eggs benedict from the brunch menu. My sandwich arrived open faced, consisted of thin pastrami sandwich meat with cheese and a ton of sauerkraut. It had no sauce and was drenched in the juice of the sauerkraut. It was not good. My partner’s EB were dull, hardly any sauce. The restaurant is very tiny, the folks were very nice and friendly but the food was not good, especially for the price.

Regular haunt for 20 years. Got much busier in the last 7 or so, with the huge uptick in West Village tourism. This has affected them negatively, their service has slipped and their food is more expensive and worse. And their traditional warmth to regulars has cooled considerably. Outdoors used to be great but dramatic increase in bus traffic right outside since Bloomberg has sort of ruined that aspect.

Something so refreshing about this place. Went here today for breakfast after having not come for about 5 years and could not be more satisfied. Bus Stop Café is a quaint and serene place. The atmosphere epitomizes warm and friendly. The service is also beyond outstanding– friendly and professional. The quality of the food far surpassed expectations and the portions served were hearty. As for the the prices, they are very good for a restaurant located on Hudson St. I will not only be returning to this place, but also recommending it to people. Bus Stop Café is what the village is all about.

We ate here twice when we visited NY and even ordered a takeout. The frozen cocktails are fantastic and couldn’t fault the food at all. We will certainly be going back. Great comfort food

Good food and good location! Great to sit outdoors and people watch in west village! The desserts looked delish! Will try them if I visit again. The side of steamed carrots was surprisingly good .! Got them as a snack for my baby and she loved it too!

The Bus Stop is my happy place, my home-away-from-home, and my favorite brunch joint in Manhattan. My husband and I have been frequenting this charming café for over 5 years now, and we have never, ever, ever been disappointed. They have the best coffee I’ve ever tasted. Even when I cut coffee out of my diet years ago, I still got a cup here. It’s irresistible. Plus, the servers always keep your cup full and your coffee hot. The cups are bottomless, and they will keep refilling them until you can’t take it anymore. The breakfast special is our go-to choice here. Their omlets are delicious and the potatoes are to die for. We also love the breakfast sandwiches(especially on a croissant; yum!), fruit cups, and waffles for a sweet treat. My husband loves their corned beef hash, as well. The crowning glory of this restaurant is their impeccable service. The servers make you feel like you belong there. They have become our friends over the years, and even remembered us when we moved back after a 2-year stint outside New York. Whether outside on a beautiful day watching the hustle and bustle of the nearby farmer’s market or inside listening to wonderfully relaxing classical music, The Bus Stop Café is always a winner.

Terribly over cooked meats and terribly under cooked vegetables(basically still raw and cold). No seasoning on anything, so bland. And slightly rude service. Only good part was the music selection and big open windows to sit at.

Spontaneously stopped by here while wandering the neighborhood looking for dinner. They have a nice selection on the menu, the prices weren’t outrageous, the atmosphere was cozy(would have used the porch seating if it had been warmer out), friendly staff, and overall I was pretty happy with our choice. The only thing I would have to say is that some of the food wasn’t as flavorful as I was hoping. I ordered the NY steak which on the menu was described as «balsamic reduction marinated» and it came out with no balsamic taste and I even had to put salt on it for more flavor. Same with the French onion soup, decent but a bit bland.

After the nasty manager at White Horse refused us service because my pet bird was sitting in her cage outside of White Horse property on a public sidewalk, we ambled two blocks up to Bus Stop and scored a table outside withou any bird problems. We also had delightful Cobb salads for lunch. I recommend this place highly. Oh, and their home fries looked wonderful on the next table.

Bus Stop is a cute place in a cute neighborhood but that’s pretty much all it has going for it. The food is comparable to diner food — mediocre and uninspired. I ate an omelet here a few days ago and it was unremarkable in pretty much every way. Same with the coffee — it was watery and the only sweetener options were sugar or Sweet and Low. This is still 2014, right? Where the fuck is the Splenda? Do people still use Sweet and Low? The worst part was the service. The hostess took away my menu before I had ordered, probably because she thought I already had because I had certainly been sitting there long enough to have been visited by a waiter. When he finally showed up he was rude and impatient, and barely intelligible. He also neglected to split the check between me and my friend even though we asked and he said he would. I rarely ever tip less than 20% but this time I did. I got a boring omelet, cold toast, gross coffee, and shit service for $ 17. Bus Stop, how are you even still in business?

While waiting 2+ hours for a table at The Spotted Pig, we ventured here to get our food and drinks on. I am so glad we did! Not only did they accommodate all twelve of us nicely, they actually gave us all SEPARATECHECKS, without any complaints! That is an unheard of miracle in the city and truly, I will never forget this place because of that. This place will always remain the place that«gave us all separate checks… with an amazing attitude.» The service was friendly, efficient and helpful. The seating and décor was cozy and cute. As for the food, I only tried their calamari but it was very crispy and delicious. And what a large portion for only an $ 8 appetizer — I had to ask others to help me eat it and that’s a first! For drinks, I recommend their sangria which has a smoothie-like texture and is on the sweet side.
