I bought my ticket home from New York City online. I was mostly nervous do to reading all B2NY’s negative reviews on Unilocal.
My experience was not bad. It does say on the ticket confirmation/​terms of service paper I printed out where to show up for my ride from NYC to Columbus, OH. I got to 59 Canal St. There were a lot of people waiting for their rides, so I new I was at the right place. Got there around 8:25pm. I didn’t have to wait more than a few minutes inside the store before being helped. The Chinese gal was fast taking my signed paper and filling out a smaller pink ticket. It showed what seat I was assigned (PS, you don’t get to pick), and I headed out.
Passengers are in charge of loading their own luggage. I was assigned seat 49 — two rows from the very back. At the start of the trip, I had a man from Cincinnati assignment to the seat next to me. Not more than 30 minutes into the trip he moved up to another aisle seat (he was claustrophobic). So I had the two seats to myself — yay!
Yes, the bathroom onboard is not the greatest smell. But keeping the door shut closed it in. It only open a handful or so times, and the smell subsided after shutting. Yes, if I would have known, I would have ASKED for a seat toward the middle of the bus. Yes, it was very quite for the duration of the ride (got some dozing in).
No, there were no oddball stops. There were three (about a minute long, if that) stops at well lit gas stations for driver changes. Each time we got right back on the road, no problems. We stopped for a 20 minute break at a gas station close to Bedford, PA. A nice Sunoco with a Starbucks and Subway inside. Plenty of restrooms. They do take a head count before pulling out to make sure everyone’s on board. Oh, and yes (!!), every seat has a USB outlet above — a giant +++.
Would I do this ride again? At this point, I only have this one positive experience to go by, so I’ll optimistically say yes. I get to relax and not have the stress of driving. This time round was efficient and turned out to be not as horrible as I was setting myself up for. I got dropped off in the right city 40 MINUTES AHEAD of arrival. Getting home was the end goal: D

I’d rate this one star if it weren’t for the fact that I knew I was getting into an «adventure» and the cost was so low. The trip to NYC began on time so we were lulled into the belief that everything would go smoothly. We were mistaken. Like others mentioned, random stops that ate up a large amount of time, delayed our arrival by over 2 hours. Ok, I can deal with that, I am used to plane travel being delayed, but let me describe our return trip. One word: cluster#@$%. Upon arriving early to the original station in China Town with 40+ people waiting patiently for the bus to arrive, a lady came out and said that the bus has been rescheduled or cancelled (she was very vague), we were all supposed to go across the street to the other bus company. Ok, I knew it was all downhill from here…
Fast forward 2 hours later, 2 buses arrive and even though we were promised, neither one went to the downtown Cincinnati location that was supposed to arrive before 8AM. Our bus arrived around 10:30AM in Sharonville (!) and a group of us split an Über downtown. Who knows how this company survives except for the extremely bargain basement prices. Customer service like this in any other venue would be immediately result in closure or at least major revamping and PR damage control.
Morals of the story: You get what you pay for and be prepared if you use any of the low cost bus companies.
P. S. It would be helpful to either know Chinese or use Google translate to ask questions of the drivers and workers.

My bus literally never showed up. Waited until 2AM. They overbooked buses all day and people who were at the same stop as me had waited six hours. The two buses that did come were already full. Drivers spoke barely any English, made no announcements. Total chaos. Left me and like 20 other people literally out in the rain and cold.
I had to buy a plane ticket in the middle of the night (250 extra dollars) just to make it back to NYC on time for a very important doctors appointment. Totally unreliable. Not worth the cheap price you pay. Trust me, you’ll pay for it another way. My bus literally never came.

I really think these guys deserve a better overall rating. It’s the cheapest option out there, and definitely the only bus service that offers me the convenience of a Vandalia, OH pickup/​dropoff point. They have USB charging ports for ever seat, very convenient. I have always ended up where I needed to get.
Cons: The drivers don’t often have fluent English, so if there is a problem of some kind, it can be a little confusing to sort out. The NY bus station is really gross! Crowded, confusing, and always smells terrible! Also, on the way out of NY, they assign you a seat number, so if you’re traveling on your own, you get no say who you have to sit next to, not always ideal. However, the women at the counter have great English, so easy to ask questions.
Overall, worth it, way cheaper than flying. I have used it many times and will continue to do so.

Absolutely do not take this bus. I am a very experienced bargain traveler – little rattles me with regards to other passengers, delays, bathroom conditions. However this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.
I took a bus from New York to Cincinnati, and when I got to Cincinnati the bag that I had put under the bus was not there anymore. I had transferred it when we moved buses, and it had my name on it, but it was not there.
After that, I have attempted to contact the bus company many, many times to see if it turned up somewhere or was turned in. They will not even take my calls. Literally no one will answer. And they did the very first time I called, which leads me to believe that they are intentionally not communicating with me so that they will not be held responsible for the bag at all.
I understand people saying «It’s a $ 60 bus, what do you expect?» I expect to be treated like a person. I have spent a lot less on buses to be treated a lot better.

I used this bus service in March 2015 to travel from NYC to Cincinnati, and then back.
It’s hard to complain about anything when, you truly get what you pay for ($ 60 each way) with this service.
The bus station in NYC smelled so awful, I had to stand outside. Like, actually.
The bus leaves at 9pm and you arrive at 9am (If not a bit early). So, you can sleep most of the way. There are USB charger ports, which are SUPER convenient. Loved those. The bus made random stops off highway exits, picking up one or two people for who knows what reason. The bus was DEFINITELY segregated, and Asian riders were in the front of the bus, and everyone else was in the back. The bus wasn’t completely full the entire time on the way to Cincinnati (It makes stops in Columbus and Dayton along the way.) It was FULL on the way to NYC after we making those stops.
On the way from Cincinnati to NYC, the heat/​radiator was on, located on the floor by your feet if you’re the window seat. It was so hot, no one was able to sleep. I was literally dripping sweat. Hours later, it was somehow fixed.
I would not HESITATE to take this bus line again IF I had someone I knew sitting next to me. IT COULD HAVE BE WORSE.

This company of busses sucks the driver no speak English and make to many stops from Atlanta to New York no good please buy new busses because ur busses is too old…

Kinda hard to rate this company as you really get what you pay for and I can only expect so much from a company charging $ 60 for a trip to Ohio. That being said, this bus gets you where you’re going and often faster than expected (drivers definitely hit 80mph). It’s a nice trip, being overnight, but the advertised wifi is really spotty and some buses have the standard electrical outlets while others have the USB outlets.
The bus stops at a rest stop somewhere in Pennsylvania (bathroom and food, yay!) and then there are these odd stops where we pick up random people in the middle of the night. Off.
The bus is supposed to stop at Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati but there’s a stop right before Columbus (not sure where) and it also stops in Springfield. Not a game changer, just good to know when you can’t understand where the bus driver says you are. The drivers have heavy accents and often aren’t speaking English (Chinese languages).
Also, the Dayton stop from NYC is NOT on Miamisburg-​Centerville Road. All 3 times that I’ve taken this bus, it has stopped at the McDonald’s on 530 East National Road in Vandalia.
And if your bus from NYC to Ohio is not full, they may combine it with the next scheduled bus. I haven’t had that issue with the bus from Ohio to NYC, but it’s a numbers game so that could occur on that trip as well.
Overall, if you’re looking to cheaply get from point A to B and you’re okay with language barriers, random stops, and speeding through winding roads, this is not a bad option. That may sound crazy, but sure beats Greyhound. Flying, of course, is preferred if you can.

This bus is making several illegal stops, picking up random people who are paying cash to the driver, who speaks zero english. We just waited 30 minutes at a run down hotel at 3 AM for someone who paid $ 80 cash. Before that was literally on the side if the highway picking up someone. Reporting this bus service to the authorities once it’s over

This service was 3 hours late for my trip from Cincinnati to NYC. There was no notification of this delay. A 12 hour trip turn into a 15 hour trip thanks to bus2nyc.

Took this home to Ohio on Sat ⁷⁄₁₂. About 15 people total. Plenty of space to lay out. Actually fell asleep for the first time. Got into Cincinnati 45 minutes early too.

This bus service does what it says it will do– deliver you to your destination. We left NYC a bit late, but the bus stop was easy to find and the seats reclined and were comfy. There was nothing spectacular about the service, but then again I only paid $ 60 to get from NYC to Cincinnati so I am satisfied. If you have done international flights before I would compare this trip to that– long but there is more leg room. The bathroom smelled pretty bad, but nothing worse than other public transportation toilets (just bring along a pack of kleenex with you!)
Overall, this company is a great way to travel to and from NYC for cheap.

Everyone’s experience will vary. I was lucky enough to not have anyone sit next to me on the NYC-​Cincinnati run and I never needed to use the bathroom. Free wi-​fi, which is nice, but some people may inexplicably decide to use it to Face Chat people in Beijing on full volume. So again, roll the dice. They got me to my destination on time, despite leaving NYC an hour late due to our bus hitting traffic before picking us up. Though I suspect the company wasn’t thrilled with the 10 people there for the 8:30 bus and just had the bus park nearby until more people showed up. Then we got combined with the 9:30 crowd. Again, still not a full bus on a Friday night. There are a couple of choices all leaving from Canal Street for this route. I guess we’ll have to wait and see which company sticks around. I was glad to be able to make this trip, since it was very last minute and flights/​rail were not an option price-​wise.
