Established in 1989.

CFD (Center of Floral Design) has been a wholesaler of natural look silk flowers, trees, and greens in New York’s Chelsea Flower Market for over 20 years.

At CFD, we work with designers in all fields including in interior decoration, commercial displays, and film/​television set designs. We strive to offer the best silk floral and green products. For example, our silk trees are designed branch by branch and built by hand on location. In addition, we’ve recently created an exclusive designer line of silk flowers and accessories which are manufactured up to our highest standards.

Business Owner

CFD (Center of Floral Design) was founded by David and Wendy Chiu in 1989. Before immigrating to the U.S. in 1979, David and Wendy were accomplished artists in Hong Kong. David has spent most of his life in the arts as a painter, a sculptor, a Chinese calligraphy artist, a writer, and he holds a degree in Architecture. Wendy managed a gallery in Hong Kong and has a background in water and oil painting.

Worse shopping experience ever! The Asian lady was rude. I had to go across the street at Pany to get great customer service. I don’t recommend this florist.

Gorgeous silk flowers, very realistic. Huge selection. $ 25 minimum purchase. The sign says wholesale only, but I’ve been a few times and there’s no screening or anything. I usually get a few stems or bunches to make small arrangements for my grandmother, who worries about watering real flowers but loves these. They also have fake fruit, foliage, and garlands. The staff has always been nice. I almost panicked today when I walked the block and thought it wasn’t there for some reason! I’ll keep going back as long as they’re open!

I’ve never bought fake flowers before and was frankly overwhelmed when I walked in! I needed to get styling items for a photoshoot and all the people in the shop were incredibly helpful in picking stems out and greenery. Highly recommend for quality fake florals that a real value for the quality. Great customer service

I was overwhelmed by the huge selection of beautiful faux silk flowers that filled the store, but with the help of the really nice sales associate (or she may have been the owner) I finally chose a few stems that look beautiful in my apartment.
Some of the prices seemed steep but were still cheaper than what I’ve seen faux floral arrangements go for online. Highly recommend this place!

I am a hugely satisfied customer. We were looking for a silk flower arrangement for our synagogue. Based on someone else’s recommendation, I started at a different flower shop on the street. The folks in that shop were snooty about the amount we wanted to spend, and were entirely uncreative about how to make an arrangement that met our criteria. I left the shop feeling very dejected. Then I stumbled into CFD and met Miranda. I explained to her what I wanted to do and how much we wanted to spend, and she put together an amazing arrangement that looked gorgeous. She texted me pictures while she was building the arrangement, and made wonderful changes based on my comments. I would definitely give this store 5 stars for both product and customer service. If you need a silk flower arrangement, start here!

They were so beautiful and real that my husband was asking around which one was natural (jajjaja the whole place were full of fake plants and flowers) Of course they will recommend you the most expensive option so I’ll suggest you to walk the entire block before and them compare prices (is only one block)

Am surprised this place has just just 5 reviews. If you’re into silk/​fake flowers for home décor, you must be familiar with the 28th street area between 6th and 7th and how it has many shops that sell silk/​real flowers. Having been to all of them I consider this one the best, simply because of the number of options they have. It’s a huge shop with a plethora of options from roses to anthoriums to cherry blossoms. They just have it all. They look very realistic and are priced slightly more than other shops, but you pay for better quality.
The owner is helpful and can help you pick flowers and form a bouquet as per your specifications. It’s a small faux flower paradise!

Idk what the rest of the people below me are on/​being paid, but this is THE WORST company I have ever worked with in my entirety of living in NYC. I plan on filing a report with BBB. Stay clear away. You are better off ripping up your cash and banging your head with a brick a few times than working with them. They don’t care about the customer, customer service, or following any form of ethics. Coming from someone who works in retail, I don’t understand how a company like this can stay in business and hasn’t been shut down. Save yourselves! STAY AWAY FROM CFD FLOWERS!

I was looking for a «fake» flower shop and after reading all the excellent reviews on this shop, I Had to come here and see for myself and learn the hype. The most amazing part of this store is that the setup is like a real florist. It was most impressive and I was astonished by all the exotic choices all around me. The Chinese owned shop does have a $ 20 minimum for all sales since they are gearing towards wholesalers. I suppose that is fair since no tax identification number is mandated.
The one reason why I wasn’t impressed, despite it all is because of the costs of the silk flowers. Of all the shops I went through, this one was the most expensive. At least $ 2 difference and some were almost double the price. This immediately turned me away. Even so, I liked how the Chinese lady in the desk was helpful and kind.
They do check your bags so keep all your shopping bags in your purse unless you don’t mind the sort of thing.

Let me begin by saying that I hate the thought of fake flowers, but in certain instances I have to admit it makes sense to have the long lasting durability of silk flowers as opposed to the fleeting presence of the real thing. I wanted flowers that looked as close to the real thing as possible, and Center of Floral Design & Supply pride themselves on offering a large selection that do just that. They also have an extremely helpful staff. I gave the woman that helped me my budget guidelines and exactly what I wanted color and size-​wise and she created a beautiful arrangement for me.
I highly recommend CFD. May even go back and get some of the cherry blossom branches to use at home.

I came here looking for some plants to spruce up my lifeless office. Because we’re not able to maintain real plants due to our schedules at my workplace, silk flowers were the next best bet.
CFD came highly recommended by a good friend who works with flowers and is familiar with the businesses in the flower district, so it was my first and only stop. I was really impressed with their selection of silk flowers, all which looked and felt incredibly realistic. These are definitely not your grandma’s fake plastic flowers.
Miranda, the manager/​owner, helped me with my selection, and I ended up purchasing several plants, trees and flower arrangements. She was really nice, patient, and knowledgeable. Everyone at the office thought the plants were real!
