Nooooo goooood today. First time here, bored at Grand Central. Stopped for quick order of truffle fries(10 min wait). The experience was bizarre. The one man pulled a pocket knife out and jokingly swiped at a younger coworker, who jumped back and exclaimed. Yeah, it was a joke, but seriously? How is this funny in front of customers? Oh wait. It’s not over. The young kid behind the counter asked me if I wanted ketchup. I agreed, and he asked«how many?» — I said«3 or so please» so he starts with that really annoying–«30? 32? 35?», which I guess he thought was cute. Keep reading. He then says, «miss, your face looks a little shiny, want a napkin? Want a towel? Want me to rub my forehead on yours?» — And took his hat off and mock leaned over the counter towards me. Go ahead. Read it again. Yes, this really occurred. At times like this I wish I was Ray Donovan. This kid. Thank God I was just leaving church. So if for some reason you are still on the fence about this place: the fries came out hot, fresh and totally bland and flavorless. This place made McDonald’s look like the Taj Mahal.

This place gets 5 stars from me. I’ve visited twice so far and both of my sandwiches have been delicious! The first time I wasn’t planning to visit there I was just looking to see I could get for lunch and I stumbled across the market grill I took a look at the special they had listed for the day and it was pork belly sandwich one of the workers saw me looking at asked if I would like to try a piece so I said sure, I took one bite of it and I was sold! It was so flavorful and crispy and tender so i went ahead and ordered the sandwich. It’s definitley a good size sandwich I couldn’t even eat my second half cause I was full. The second time I went I again tried a sample of their steak for the day and again it was delicious! so I went ahead and ordered the sandwich and was not disappointed. Not sure why the so so reviews, I’ll try some of their other items and see how they fair but for now I’m loving their specials of the day but I do have my eye on their ham and cheese sandwich next. yum! Granted their sandwiches are not cheap but for the quality of the meat and sandiwch overall plus the size I think it’s pretty fair pricing. I’ve spent money on crap that was more than this sandwich and tasted bad so as long as it’s good quality I don’t mind paying. just not everyday though, maybe once or twice a week ;)

I think this place took over Paninoteca, which is an instant negative in my book. Paninoteca was amazing and was a traditional stop before I’d catch a train back home, and I’m still mourning over the fact that I’ll never have a Panini Americano again. But I digress… I came here a couple nights ago just cause(to get Paninoteca… dammit) and stumbled upon Central Market. Instantly my eyes went to the grilled cheese menu, which contained some traditional options and more gourmet ones(brie and strawberry melt??? Huh???). I opted for the mozzarella and prosciutto grilled cheese. The verdict: good size for the price(about $ 6.95), but an overall«meh» sandwich. The cheese wasn’t fully melted and the salty prosciutto overpowered everything. The bread was nice and crispy, but they definitely didn’t keep it in the panini press long enough. They do have other options here, so I may come back for a follow-up, but overall, I was unimpressed. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go pay my respects to the Paninoteca family…

I wasn’t sure if I found the right place when I saw that it had one star. I thought it was great! I stopped by the Central Market Grill to grab a sandwich to take to JFK before my flight. I ordered the Milano sandwich, which came out hot in a few minutes. I didn’t get to eat it until about an hour later, but it was still fairly warm. The sandwich was delicious. I’m not the biggest fan of pesto, but this was very mild and brought out the flavors of the chicken, cheese and roasted red pepper that came with it. I can’t remember what type of bread I had, but it was soft and yummy.

Visited the Grand Central Terminal during my visit to New York, and while I was there I grabbed a quick breakfast from Central Market Grill. It was only 10:30am and I really wanted to order hash browns for breakfast. I proceeded to order my hash browns and their Central Market Egg which is actually a cheese and sausage English muffin. First they tell me they’re out of hash browns. Ok fine, I’ll just get the muffin then. First bite into my muffin and ewwwwwww, it was the worse breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. It was HORRIBLE. DON’T EVER come to this place even if all the other restaurants doesn’t have what you want or crave for.
