Central Park Women’s Imaging – New York Radiology Partners

I have to get routine ultrasounds every six months and I have been coming to this place regularly but I am now searching for another place because I can’t take how rude they are anymore. The ultrasound techs who perform the exams are super sweet and gentle and understand how nerve racking an experience like this can be because you’re scared of the unknown.
But the women at reception are so rude and act like they don’t want to be there. They don’t have a welcoming presence at all and as the first faces you see when you enter the office, it is a bit unsettling and really destroys my energy. Also, the people on the phone are rude as well. I’ve been calling for a week straight trying to get some help and they’re just passing me around and nobody can help me.
3 stars for the sweet techs, atmosphere and efficiency once you make it past check-​in.

This place isn’t anything to write home about, but definitely serves it’s purpose. The ladies at the front desk are not overly friendly — actually sort of rude but if you’re super nice to them they reciprocate.
I had an 8am appointment and was in by 8:15 after filling out some paperwork and out by 8:40. Pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of the appointment. I had been one time before a little later on in the day and they seemed to be a bit backed up so I’d recommend taking an earlier appointment time.

My Dr, had requested a sonogram along with a mamogram. They received that request days before I arrived on Thursday November 5h.
I was called up to the desk and questioned about the sonogram. I explained the reasons for it They Had not requested my records until I brought them in on November 5^th. The Nasty Janette in my previous review stated that I was not allowed a sonogram based on their assessment. They should have informed me that they could not preform a sonogram

Professional from the beginning to the end. I had an ultrasound, mammography, and bone density all on the same day. Of course I was late and forgot my referral. The receptionist, Marilyn, was super kind and patient. The minute they received the referral by fax from my GYN, I was given all three diagnostics by very skilled and professional techs. Great place.

After years of using another facility, a change of insurance & Dr. brought me here.
At first, it was not so bad. I filled out the required forms and waited. My appointment was scheduled for 10:15. I showed up early to get the paper work done. Silly me. I sat in the waiting room for until at least 11:45. Once my name was called, the process was swift. At least there was no secondary waiting room, after that i was in and out. The front desk was nice enough. Its not a pretty place but it functions.
The issues did not crop up until after my appointment. Shortly after my mammogram, I left for vacation. When I returned I had TWO letters from them requesting that I contact them immediately. One of the letters stated they needed additional imaging. I also received a phone call from them the day I returned (coincidence) requesting that i come in. So you know, this created sheer panic for me. Three contacts from them in such a short period of time. I returned the woman’s call right away. crickets. two days passed before I called them again to schedule a second appointment.
I let the woman know that when you request some one to come back THREE times it might me a tad unsettling. She apologized. She also asked me to get my old mammograms from the facility where i used to go and book the appointment. I got the films and booked the appt. She informed me that there was no need to panic that the explanation might be is they had nothing to compare the films to.
In order to facilitate the process, i personally dropped the disc off once i received it from my old Dr. The woman at CPWI told me they would have plenty of time to read the films before my appointment and they would call me to cancel if they saw nothing on the films. I dropped them off TEN days before my appointment.
I started calling three days before my appointment because i had not heard back from them. On Monday they said they would call me back. On Wednesday morning when i had not heard back, i called again (my appt is for Thursday) Wednesday morning i was told the Dr. has not read the films and yet and with vacations and it being summer and all… REALLY??? summer is your excuse? At that point she said she would call me back in ½ hour. Two hours later someone else called me and said they would call me back soon and hang up.
When i called back at 3:30,nobody had read the films yet.
I am so glad i got my old mammo’s there way ahead of time to prevent this from happening. As of this review, i still have not heard back from them but just my luck the Dr. is too busy seeing patients all day to take the time to read the films that have been sitting there for 10 days.

I checked in 15 minutes early for my mammogram that I had a script for but left at home by accident. I marked that I had found a lump in the past week. After an hr and a half I realized how much time had passed and went to ask the receptionist the problem.
Her response was delivered in such a nasty way that I left. No one communicated the entire time that they were waiting for a call from my Dr. I could have walked across the street and taken care of anything they needed.
I am extremely intolerant of poor attitudes in Dr.‘s office so some are probably more tolerant. My mother worked for 50 yrs in the medical field and I believe everyone should show compassion.
A small smile and communication go a long way. There are plant of options out there and I refuse to spend one dollar going towards a less than pleasant office.

Aside from One Medical Group, this is the best experience I’ve ever had with a medical office in NYC. I was able to get a fairly last-​minute appointment for a time-​sensitive lady-​bits procedure, and everyone I dealt with over the phone and in person was simply delightful.
The office is large, clean, and comfortable. After filling out my paperwork I settled in for what I assumed would be an endless wait, but I was called almost immediately. Pat, who assisted me with everything from checking in to the procedure itself, was so sweet, warm, and friendly: she collected a urine sample and showed me to a small changing room where I changed into a clean gown and socks that came in their own plastic wrap; she told me to keep all of my items in there, and that it was locked and only she had the key.
My radiologist was a friendly, approachable woman who explained in detail exactly what she was going to do and how it would feel. The procedure was, as advertised, somewhat painful (both she and my gynecologist had warned me, so I was prepared), but the radiologist talked me gently through the entire thing while Pat literally held my hand and stroked my arm. Just as it started to really hurt, it was over, and I had results immediately: the technician showed me the X-​rays and explained exactly what everything meant while I lay there and recovered. They made sure I was okay and told me to take all the time I needed before Pat helped me up and took me back to the changing room.
I’d been told to allocate an hour to the visit, but I was out of there in about 35 minutes: basically unprecedented, in my experience, for any non-​concierge medical service in this city.
Honestly, this could have been such a scary, crappy experience, and the wonderful technician and staff at Central Park Women’s Imaging made it … gosh, almost pleasant! I was totally blown away — I wish all medical offices treated patients with this much humanity and respect.

I’ve been getting mammo’s here for YEARRRRRRS. I swear I feel like I’ve grown up with central park imaging. I can’t compare them to anywhere else, but I can tell you that every person I’ve interacted with here has been more than pleasant. I just had a mammo here last week and I remember thinking how challenging it may be to deal with the clients sometimes, given the nature of the visit, you know? I’m grateful that each of them has chosen to do the work that they’re doing.

Upgrading my rating for this office – after I wrote my review, they called to apologize for the long wait. When I went in for a follow-​up, everyone was much nicer. The wait was much shorter (though it was still a 15-​minutes).

Great location, very comfortable, big space. Not loud TV or old dirty magazines, just what you need to feel in pace an relax moment before you have your mammography.
Very convenient bathroom inside your waiting area and a plus: a filterer water dispenser! What a dream…

The best experience by far I have ever had in more than 40 years of tricky testing. I have used Central Park three times now and each time I am seen at my scheduled time, the tests are very professionally carried out and I was treated warmly all throughout. What a change from my last factory — er — medical office.

Very professional. Had my first mammo and I was not looking forward to it but I must say the initial technician was so forthcoming explaining things to me and even showed me the images. I became more comfortable. Even when I got notice to come back again because they found something and had to have another image and an ultra sound, the technician for the imaging was great. The only thing I didn’t like was the trainee helping out for my ultrasound ~ nothing personal but I asked the other girl why were there two of them and she explained she was a trainee. Fair enough but I told the senior person let’s get this right because I am not coming back again. Handled profressionally and pleasantly.

Overall, really great experience here. It’s very frightening to be a pregnant, early-​30s woman who has been referred for a mammogram, but CP Women’s Imaging made the experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. My technician was Marina and she was lovely. Kind and gentle. I can’t say enough positive things about her. I waited for about 10 minutes for the results of the ultrasound. My only complaint is that I arrived at the Broadway location listed on my referral form and was told that I was in the wrong location. I had to walk a few blocks over to the 59^th Street location. Overall– reasonable wait time, kind staff, nice office. Highly recommend.

Not horrible, not great. Yep. Damning them with faint praise, I guess.
Last year, they misplaced my mammogram films. I got some attitude from them, which evaporated when I coughed up the Fedex info noting the name of the person at their office who had received the films. Similarly, I got some attitude at the front desk when they couldn’t find the doctor’s note that had been faxed to them… by the office manager in another office who also worked for them.
This year, I called ahead, and learned that they did not have the doctor’s note that had been faxed to them in April. My doctor’s office kindly re-​faxed three times and then followed up with phone calls until they could determine that the note had been received. Why this drama was necessary, I don’t know, since apparently faxing it in isn’t enough — they expect you to show up with the note in your hot little hand as well. Not that this is actually conveyed to you before you arrive, apparently, unless you call them and ask.
The waiting area is a smidge dim and depressing, and the front desk staff have a bit of that unfortunate chip on their collective shoulders that so many medical staff seem to have in NYC (although nowhere near as bad as some offices). I’ve not really experienced this anywhere else in the country, by the way. It seems to be a strictly NYC thing.
Once you get past the office staff, however, it’s all good. The techs are great — efficient and really kind and patient and as gentle as can be expected given the reason you’re there. Even the waiting area back there is nicer.
So, in a nutshell: great experience? Not so much. Adequate experience? For the most part.
