Last year my exam was $ 25 — my copay. This year I’m greeted at the door with a form saying the charge is $ 75 for refraction — when they ask you 1 or 2 — and it’s too late to walk out because they charge a fee if you cancel in under 24 hours so I sign and complain. Instead of the optometrist doing the exam — like every other year — it’s an assistant. Why am I paying more? To add insult to injury when I checked out it was $ 115 because that $ 75 was in addition to my now $ 45 copay! If they’re going to charge patients for the new name and paint job they should warn you more than 24 hours in advance. My husband’s optometrist costs the copay and the entire exam is done by an optometrist. Dishonest and not worth a dime more than any other!

All I have to say is that Chelsea Eye made me completely comfortable with having my eyes operated on (LASIK). Christine is an amazing person who literally walks with you through the entire procedure, assisting Dr. Coad when the surgery itself is done, answering any questions or concerns at any time. Unlike other places, Chelsea Eye made me feel like they really cared about me and making my life a better experience for me. I wasn’t just another person on their assembly line and they treated me with a care and expertise that is second to none. It’s been a little under a month since my surgery and I have to say that I’m nothing but 100% satisfied with my experience at Chelsea Eye. I would and do recommend them to anyone even thinking about getting this life-​changing procedure done.

Even though Dr. Code is phenomenal, I give a low rating because it’s impossible to get past the receptionist (whose ENGLISH in NON-​EXISTING), who does her best to shoo you off and is less than cooperative !! Not acceptable

Waited 55 mins for my 9:30am appointment. They couldn’t be that backed up so early. Staff was friendly but that doesn’t give me my hour back. I have to be at work too!

If I could give this facility more stars I would.
I have had several issues with my eyes and have needed an emergency doctors visit on several occasions. Everyone in this office is beyond friendly and very accommodating.
Yesterday I called and needed to be seen, explained my situation and they scheduled me in right away to see an ophthalmologist. The doctor that took care of me was so incredibly nice, explained everything very clearly and made everything easy to understand, i felt super comfortable and knew I was in great hands. The sense of relief was overwhelming.
I also will be going back for a consultation for corrective surgery as well.

LASIK EYE SURGERY
It’s your eyes… it’s kind of a big deal. When I decided that I wanted to pursue the perfect vision journey I did A LOT research. Through my research and a friend recommendation I stumbled upon Chelsea Eye. I scheduled a no charge no commitment consultation. They scheduled me for about a week later (I was surprised I could get an appointment that soon) and BAM I’m sitting for a LASIK consultation with the LASIK specialist Christine who is just about the nicest (and very fashionable) person you could ever meet. My husband came with me as he wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to put myself at high risk for something that could possibly make me blind. Christine and Dr. Coad addressed all of our concerns and sent us home under no obligation and with a bunch of information. I knew I wanted this surgery for a long time and decided basically upon departing the office that I wanted to proceed with the surgery. They were able to schedule me the week of CHRISTMAS. There is never any issue getting through with them on the telephone but if that was an issue at all I had Christine’s cell number to text her. TEXT HER! Is that even a thing? All of my concerns and arrangements in a text? When did life/​the doctor get so easy? They went over everything a MILLION times. Everything was word vomit by the time we reached surgery and I felt extremely comfortable. The entire procedure is only about 10 minutes (about 7 minutes of it being prep) my husband was able to sit and watch my procedure on tv and immediately after I was out the door with some medication goodies in an über on the way to my warm bed. That next morning back at Chelsea eye I got a post op check up. After a month I received a one month checkup and my eyes are fabulous. Oh did I mention they gave me a surplus of free eye drops and TWO champagne glasses with a HANDWRITTEN note! I won’t ruin the cuteness of the note if it’s the same for everyone I know that generally these procedure are all the same as well as the testing that goes along with them so please note this review is not about LASIK. This review is of the stellar staff at Chelsea eye and the personal touch to their practice that makes you feel comfortable and at home. I wish more doctors in all specialization would adopt a friendlier approach equivalent to the amazing service I received at Chelsea eye!!!

Im a research fanatic. Before doing my lasik surgery, I went on Unilocal and searched the top lasik offices in NYC. I literally had a consultation with ⁸⁄₁₀ from this results list. It was so obvious to me the minute I walked into this office, that this would be my center of choice to get my surgery.
Christine is the best! She instantly makes you feel at ease and walks you through the whole process. She is quick to get back to you regarding questions, amazing manners, and overall just a wonderfully sweet woman. Dr. Coad is very friendly and is also helpful with answering all questions. I picked them because they made me so comfortable with the entire process. I wouldnt have gone anywhere else!
I got my Lasik Oct 2015. I was –5. Today is 3 months later at January 2016. And I have no side effects other than dryness. My vision is great. I can see clearly. Overall, Im happy with my results. I recommend Chelsea Eye to all my friends and associates. Do yourself a favor, and go to Chelsea Eye!

I had a lower eye lid surgery early last year with Dr. Eviatar.
While he seems like a nice guy and may be very good with simpler procedures such as fillers, the more complicated surgeries are clearly not his primary area of expertise:
1. A few months after the first surgery he examined me and agreed that the results aren’t good and offered a second (free) surgery.
2. A few months after the second surgery he re-​examined me and agreed that although things look much better than after the first surgery, one eye still has this extra piece of fat that shouldn’t have been there.
3. He also promised that there will be no scars left, which unfortunately wasn’t the case.
Irrespective of the surgeries, this place is clearly mismanaged: I must have gone there 8 – 10 times and my average wait time has been 30 min, passed my scheduled appointment time. There have also been several late re-​scheduling on their part.
If I ever need to get another plastic surgery, I’m going to a Dr. who specializes in that and spends most of his time doing them.

I decided to save my DUNDUNDUNDUN 600^th (!!!) review for something that truly was life altering: new eyes!
Well, not new eyes exactly, but a better version of my old ones with Lasik! I had to really stop myself from writing this 5 star review the day after my surgery, but now that over a month has past, I’m ready! It’s really changed my life for the better.
I always knew that I would eventually get Lasik surgery: years upon years of –8.50 contacts and thick-​as-​soda-​bottle glasses were just not cutting it. Once my eyes stabilized in early 2015, it was time to take the plunge.
I did my due diligence and went around to three Lasik places, armed with a page full of questions:
1. Chelsea Eye & Cosmetic (recommended from Andrew M.!)
2. A factory-​like shop that I later found out post-​consultation was on Groupon (eek!). They had used forceful sales tactics to make me put down a fully refundable $ 500 deposit — which they only returned after excessive arguing.
3. An office in LI, with an extremely well-​known surgeon at its helm (although I would not meet with him at all until the day of surgery).
After three consultations, the choice was clear (hehe) to me. Chelsea Eye — and Dr. Coad and Christine, specifically — was informative and supportive from beginning to end. There were no pressure sales tactics used and they allowed me to schedule my surgery a few months in advance (timed to when I would run out of my contacts!). During the consultations, Christine explained every single machine and/​or testing done on me in extreme detail and really put me at ease. Dr. Coad made sure to see me during each visit too — something surgeons rarely do — so you can really tell he cares about his patients. If I’m going to undergo a surgery for my eyes, I’m going to want to meet the person doing it!
Pre-​surgery, you are supposed to be out of soft contacts for a week or so, but since I don’t like taking chances (aka am super anal), I was in glasses for close to 3 weeks! The surgery itself is held on Wednesdays only at their Midtown office (they share a space with shop #2 mentioned above — but they are separate companies, whew!). The procedure was quick, and I knew exactly what to expect because both Christine and Dr. Coad were so thorough in walking me through each step. A few minutes later, I could see! Granted it was akin to opening your eyes under water — but it made a huge difference! They sat with me until my ride came (15 minutes late, thanks Lyft) and sent me home with a bag of eye-​drops and fancy eye gear!
I tried to rest the moment I got home but the numbing drops did wear off due to my late ride, and my eyes felt like they were cutting about a gazillion onions at once. Luckily, the sleeping pills and painkillers helped with that! After about an hour, the pain did wear off and I was able to peacefully drift off into sleep. The next morning, I could see, albeit not entirely clear. My post-​operation appt revealed ²⁰⁄₃₀ vision and at my one month check-​up, I was deemed to have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision!
Now, almost two months later, life is GOOOOOD! I no longer have to stress out about removing contacts before going to sleep, and even better, forgetting to pack extra contacts/​solutions/​contacts case while traveling! My eyes are still semi-​dry from time to time — and to be expected — but I only use drops about twice a week, right before bed. Christine also makes herself available ²⁴⁄₇ by phone in case I have any questions or concerns.
And really, with the superb staff at Chelsea Eye — there are barely any questions or concerns left! They took all the guesswork out of the surgery and I highly recommend them if a competent staff who truly cares about their patients outweighs the cost of surgery. But really, aren’t your eyes work a few hundred dollars difference? Thank you to the team at Chelsea Eye & Cosmetic! Happy to answer any questions regarding the surgery if needed!

I came to Chelsea Eye and Cosmetic in 2015 for Cool Sculpting on my arms and after spending $ 1,500 and almost a year dealing with a nightmare, I have seen ZERO results. Let me start off by saying that arms are not fda approved and are considered an «off label» area. I signed a contract knowing this and took the risk, which is my fault. This review is for the terrible, and lack of customer service I have received at Chelsea Eye and the obnoxious and dismissive owner manger/​Tony Forza.
Other than in the contract I signed, I was not warned by the people at Chelsea Eye that there was a good chance the procedure wouldn’t work. The entire time during my consultation the attitude was EXTREMELY positive and reassuring that it would work. We never had a conversation about the possibility of it not working and I was told they’ve seen amazing results on all other arm clients. I was also considered a «perfect candidate»; healthy, not at all overweight but with excess fat in my arms. She even grabbed my fat in the consultation and said, and I quote «all of this fat will be gone.»
After months of no results and concluding the procedure didn’t work, they were able to secure another procedure for me for free. After it didn’t work again, I never heard back from anyone until I literally left 4 messages with the front desk to speak with the owner or manager, Tony, who, by the way, never through this entire process contacted me directly. Apparently the messages never got to him, which boggles my mind. I asked Tony to do the right thing and refund my money or meet me half way after paying $ 1,500 for a procedure that didn’t work.
After two weeks of radio silence, I called back 3 more times because I had a feeling Tony wasn’t going to follow up. (The front desk seems incapable of getting him a message.) After finally getting him on the phone, he told me that was nothing they could do and he was extremely rude and dismissive to me, even as I was calm. Tony clearly has no idea how to deal with situations like this and as I got off the phone I was even more angry than I was before. I am disgusted by the way he spoke to me and how dismissive he was of me telling him that it’s absurd his front desk can’t even get messages to him.
The establishment should be ashamed to offer a procedure that isn’t approved by the FDA and they should do a much better job of managing expectations of an overly excited (read:me) patient. I feel mislead, left with no where to turn, and out a massive amount of money. $ 1,500 is obviously nothing to this company but it is everything to me.
I am not some stupid girl who, on a limb, did this procedure and paid with mommy’s credit card. I am an intelligent young person who did her research, saved her money for a year and chose this establishment to give my hard earned money to. I am beyond devastated and do not recommend Chelsea Eye and Cosmetic to anyone because If something goes wrong, you are screwed. Additionally, Tony Forza should be ashamed of his attitude and lack of customer service skills. He should be ashamed that he doesn’t know how to talk to customers who have lost $ 1,500 to his establishment and are deeply saddened and feel hopeless.

I did a lot of research re facial fillers and, based upon all the rave reviews I came across, I decided to make an appointment with Lynn Wojton to have some work done. After the very pleasant experience of meeting her, she did the work, and I walked out of the appointment looking 20 years younger, yet still looking exactly like myself. She is the very best, and I can’t recommend her enough!

Dr. Eviatar’s experience and expertise makes him as good as it gets. He will not overdo it. The goal is for you to look natural! He will be honest with you about requests and procedures which you may want but are not necessary. You certainly will be happy with your results.

I’m 25 years old and have suffered with acne for a long time. Within the last year my acne has been more under control but the scars still remained. I looked into laser Reserfacing and found Rebecca Weston at Chelsea Eye. After the first treatment I started seeing results, my skin became smoother and the redness and indents became less visible. I did one more treatment 6 weeks after and recently followed up with a chemical peel. I feel like I haven’t seen my skin glow and be so smooth like this in years. Rebecca definitely took the time to really help me. From the time I came in for the consultation to my treatment (s), she made me feel comfortable and reassured that the procedures I was receiving would have the results I wanted. I’m very happy with how my skin is looking and feeling!!!

I had CustomVue, Wavefront LASIK at Chelsea Eye & Cosmetic Surgery. A few years ago I flew club/​first class a lot for business and can only liken the service in the first class cabin to that provided by Christine and Dr. Coad at Chelsea Eye. Their care and service was exemplary start to finish. From the first consultation to the post operation care. They really do make it an easy ride and any anxiety I had prior or through the procedure was made all the much better by their excellent service. All my questions were answered and they gave me the time to do my own research and consider my options before moving ahead with the surgery.
I did go to another clinic prior to Chelsea Eye but got the ‘conveyor belt’ feeling whilst in the waiting room awaiting my consultation. When I went to Chelsea Eye I could see the difference in the attention they give you in not just making sure you’re right candidate but also ensuring you have all the details you need before you committee.
The surgery itself was a breeze. Prior to the surgery their assistant Tim lets you relax in the lounge as he explains all of the post operation care procedures and give you your care package for home. My actual surgery was on the long side in terms of laser time (50secs+), however I felt no pain or discomfort during the procedure and to be honest it was rather meditative! I took my shoes off, laid back and they went to work, talking to me the whole way through so I knew what was going on with each step. It was all over in 10 or so minutes, no longer. I stepped off the table and looked at the clock on the wall then my watch and I was speechless! I could see!
Tim the assistant was nice enough to walk me to my Über Black Car in my sunglasses so I looked very celebrity and made sure I was off and away home to rest up. I was a little scratchy that night but slept through most of it. By the time I woke up there was brand new world before my eyes! I walked down for my early morning post-​op appointment at Chelsea Eye and marvelled al the buildings with bricks and cracks in the road, things I’d never really seen before even with glasses. For my appointment I recorded ²⁰⁄₁₅ on my reading and about ²⁰⁄₃₀ on my standard eye chart but well aware distance vision will come into view much better over the coming days/​weeks.
I have my follow up one month appointment soon so I’m looking forward to ascertain my new results as everything has been progressing nicely and distance vision has really become crisp. I’ve not had dry eye since day 5 and halos are at a minimum and now just about gone on one month.
If you are an candidate and trying to work out the best Clinic, I can only recommend Dr. Coad, Christine and their team at Chelsea Eye, I have no regrets on the procedure itself or the clinic that I choose.

I had lasik done here last month and its been amaziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. I’ve visited a few other places for consultations and this was by far the best experience. They have great hours for making appointments and it’s been a while since I’ve seen companies put individualized attention on their customers, especially here. They’ve worked with me through concerns and schedule and I feel like I’ve gotten more than I expected. The staff is very sweet and personable and can be some first hand knowledge of how everything goes.

I had a wonderful experience. I found Doctor Eviatar and his staff to be very attentive to my specific cosmetic needs. The results were fabulous, so much so I am going back today to have some more fillers in my face.
I found that Doctor Avitar does not overdue the treatments, giving you a more natural look that will leave your friends wondering, «how did she look so damn good for her age?» Art which point I whisper in their ear, «it’s part genetics and part Doctor Eviatar.»

I’ve noticed that the majority of the Five Star reviews on this clinic are for typical LASIK and cataract surgeries, which tens of thousands of doctors can perform with equal ability. Believe me, that’s no big deal. But my personal experience with the folks at «The Chelsea Money Factory» has been essentially, a waking nightmare.
First, the office. It has all the warmth of an inner city gym. Cavernous and covered with excessive adverts of their own doctors, it didn’t look like any medical office I’ve ever been in. The receptionists are not people you’d want to talk to, unlike other medical staff I’ve worked with all over NYC who were friendly and talkative. But the doctors remain the most important part of any medical operation, and they have some good ones… IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT JUST WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO WORK WITH YOU. They have such a bewildering array of specialists, that it could take you hundreds of dollars and as many weeks just to find out just who your doctor will be, costing perhaps MONTHS of expensive and preliminary visits first, AND EVEN THEN you have no idea who’s eventually going to be your attending physician. That’s the «good news.» If their physicians could ever get over their monumental EGOS, perhaps the experience would be far more palatable– like Dr. Eviatar, who is either «no longer doing» the precise procedure you specifically went to see him about in the first place, booked up until Jesus returns, or is getting «shoulder surgery» that put back my appointment ANOTHER month, after I waited an intolerable FOUR MONTHS for the initial surgery. One of the procedures he recommended for me, «would be potentially disastrous for my condition,» I learned from another eye specialist today, and I believed her. He came off to me more like a used car salesman, not a qualified professional.
This place’s only booker, «Vace,» is as non-​performing as the rest of their topsy-​turvy staff. She rarely returns her calls, and rarely EVER picks up. This clinic represents a classic case of, «the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing,» or «take a number and maybe we’ll get back to you.» They certainly could use more people to help you over the phone, leaving messages is not something I look for in an efficient professional medical clinic, and I’ve often had to wait DAYS for a return call. But most often, THEY NEVER CALL BACK AT ALL.
During my simple out-​patient procedure with them, after suffering FOUR MONTHS of lengthy delays for my minor eye problem, at the very last minute they insisted that I have a personal escort to take me home, the equivalent of requiring a stretch limo after getting your teeth cleaned. I got so mad at the militant representative at the other end that I hung up on her in total disgust and frustration. They put so many ridiculous rules and regulations upon working with them, that at the last possible moment, while actually sitting in my surgical gown, I very nearly was denied service on this petty issue alone! I could hardly believe it. Then, the attending nurse, looking about as gracious as a concentration camp matron, asked me if «my underpants were 100% cotton.» Apparently, my cotton/​poly blend wasn’t good enough. «IT COULD CAUSE SPARKS,» she said. I thought it was some sort of crazy skit from Saturday Night Live. I could just see myself running down the aisle with my underpants on fire!!! Instead of walking into the surgical area butt-​ass naked, I LIED, and kept my shorts on. This routine procedure was turning into a tedious, unbearable experience in bad judgment.
I cursed out the physician who recommended them to me, and I’ll be looking for another eye care facility without delay.

BAD! DONT VISIT THIS DOCTOR! This doctor was the third doctor I had seen about my eye problem. His advice sounded way off base from what the other told me. My primary eye doctor said if I followed his instructions there is a chance I’d be permanently blinded.
THEN before ever sending me a bill for the visit, they put it into collections. I’m now fighting with the collection agency. Don’t see this doctor. What a horrible experience.

A thank you message for Doctor Coad. I have been wearing glasses since I was eight — highly myopic, almost blind — plus., astigmatism.
Every doctor I went to told me I am not a candidate for Lasic — my retina is too thin, there is noting to slice off — I am destined to wear thick glasses for eternity.
Not so, per Doctor Coad: he recommended and performed a procedure three years ago that completely restored my vision.
I am not wearing any glasses now — I don’t even need reading glasses after surgery although I did need them before — he fixed that, can swim with the fishes, ride camels, read tiny script on my iPhone, jump out of airplanes now — all without glasses!!!
The surgery lasted less than an hour if so. I took public transportation home after it and went to work the next day. No pain, no discomfort — my eye looked completely normal after it (you have to do one eye at a time). Doctor Coad is an absolute angel and a sweetheart, and the whole process was a breeze from start to finish thanks to him and his competent staff.
I will never find words or be able to thank Doctor Coad enough for what he did for me — it is a miracle being able to see so perfectly after a lifetime of disability — that’s how I look at my past life now.
