Very seedy, dark, unfriendly and not very clean either. I ordered my food from 3 women behind a counter toward the back next to very small buffet bar with 9 choices(and not inviting either). My food order was yelled out and I can see the kitchen staff. My friend went to sit down and the table was filled with crumbs and debris. Luckily I had a few Wet-Ones with me and wiped it down. Our food was called out within 5 minutes. It was sad looking, the fried rice was limp along with a large pieces of onion with hardly any other vegetables. The Egg roll was warm and very greasy. The Chicken with Broccoli was disgusting. The chicken had a gelatinous coating and a very suspicious taste unlike any other chicken I have ever eaten. It was my right to complain, however, I would not want a replacement or anything else from there. I was happy to waste my money and spare my body and my stomach of that horrific meal. Beware! The prices are attractive for TriBeca but the quality is questionable.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced from a New York City Chinese restaurant in my life. The food was ok but the delivery man was horrible he was rude to me for literally no reason and I had even gone into the restaurant the day before and the cashier was a little rude in addition the restaurant was dirty and the food did not look very clean at the buffet

Food here is okay, but not the best I’ve had in the area, and some days are better than others. Items, are on the greasy side at times(especially their soups and fried noodles), but for foods other than soups this isn’t always a problem. To be on the safe side, I tend to stick to dishes like shrimp or beef with broccoli. However, I find that sometimes the coating on the shrimp/meat is a little too thick. As usual, I appreciate the fact that the restaurant has a buffet for those days when I’d like to sample a little of everything. Though its variety isn’t as big as other restaurants in the area. Pickup service has always been okay. I’ve never waited an insane amount of time during the lunch rush for my order to be complete. Can’t say the same for delivery, though. They seem to get swamped and delivery during the typical lunch break takes close to an hour, which doesn’t help when an hour is all you have. At one point, I started trying to order a half an hour earlier, but I suppose everyone else also got the same idea. It worked a few times — delivery came quickly — but eventually went back to the same issue.

I’ve been ordering from them on Seamless. Have never been to their restaurant. I think it’s an excellent option for chinese delivery. It’s the best hot & sour soup and the best fried dumplings that I’ve found that delivers to Fidi. The noodle soup came overcooked. I will ask for noodles to be delivered on the side next time. the broth was very good.

I tried their broccoli and chicken. It’s okay but they are very skimpy about the brown sauce. Rice was great. I was expecting more, but not that great. Go only if nothing else is on your mood.

Two and a half stars sounds about right, although I’m giving it two stars. I love that it’s so cheap, and they have a pay by the pound station. You have to compromise somewhere, I guess, especially since there aren’t very many other fast food Chinese places around.

Yeeesh. I walk by this place every day on my way to the subway, and I figured i would just drop in to give it a try because I needed somewhere cheaper to go for food in Tribeca. I ordered the chicken fried rice($ 4.30 with tax), which i thought would be a safe bet because it’s hard to mess up chicken fried rice. Unfortunately their interpretation of chicken fried rice was simply stir-frying yellow rice, raw onions and strips of chicken mystery meat together. Hands down the worst fried rice i’ve ever had. Ever.

I tried the by-the-pound buffet and found that the real adventure was finding anything I could eat. I gather from the reviews of others that their a la carte items are tasty, but this review is based on my experience with the buffet, which looked extremely unappetizing. I finally came away with three dollars worth of something and took it back to the office, since the seating was taken up with Tribeca bargain hunters.

I had to Unilocal this place because I remember(over)eating here a couple of times as a Stuy student looking for greasy comfort food. I’ll go with four stars but really, I ate here long before I could really tell the difference between good and bad dining. The staff I remember was super nice to stuy students in general. It’s been over ten years since I’ve been here. I’m seriously considering revisiting. I remember the buffet being much smaller than others are describing and chicken fried rice being $ 2.00 for a huge plate of it. Yeah I should visit sometime soon.

Pretty good. I usually don’t eat the buffet and just order out. They have vegetarian mock meats now and they taste really good! The place doesn’t look like anything special but I love their rolls and most of their Chinese food is good enough to eat… lol I’ll be coming back.

Cheap lunch place ever! They have a buffet area(about 30 selections) where you can choose whatever you want to eat. They will charge you by pound(3.75 per lb from 11am to 2:30; 2.75 after 2:30pm) and you get a free soda if you spend more than $ 4 before 2:30pm(be sure to take your free soda because they won’t tell you if you don’t notice it). The food there is okay. It’s definitely not good Chinese food but hey you get what you pay for. I go there almost every day for lunch and it only costs me about $ 4 for a lunch box(full of food)! If you eat lightly, it definitely costs you less then $ 4.

Very good neighborhood takeout. It’s the usual funky fluorescent and formica, but the standard down-home dishes are pretty good and the prices are low. The ma-po tofu and the sauteed string beans are excellent, as is the eggplant in garlic sauce. The Singapore-style noodles are tasty and the texture is right. Stay away from any chicken dish with breading or coating on the chicken meat(but this is true anywhere!) and give the steamed dumplings a try.

This place is one of the biggest dumps that I have ever encountered. Really I feel kind of guilty writing this because the guys used to let us Stuy high school kids drink in the basement, but, really, that’s pretty sketchy too! One night, my only China Red experience personally, one of the workers came down and saw us drinking 40s and we all got really scared, and he started stammering on about giving him some and started laughing hysterically. I think he was more messed up than any of us! The food really was pretty bad. A lot of good options in this neighborhood besides this.
