If you’re a fan of Chesapeake Bay-​style seafood, this is as good as it gets withouth driving 250 miles.
I’ve been multiple times and prefer to sit at the «dining bar» in the back. They will put old bay seasoning on anything for you.
And the also make a great dark & stormy knock-​off called a light & mildly.

So sad this place is closed for now. It had the best oyster happy hour in Manhattan!
It looks like there is a lawsuit between the owners… so hopefully, they can resolve it and bring back the oysters!
They also had Purple Haze beer… a favorite from Louisiana.

El Queso Grande and I both got a bit lost whilst navigating the curvy, slanty streets of the West Village, but we managed to unleash the walkie talkie functionality of our cell phones and, merely 5 minutes past our 8pm reservation, we found our way to Choptank. The interior was dimly lit and warm, and although the place was packed with other diners questing to use their BlackBoard Eats deals on the very last day before expiration, our table was ready and waiting.
SERVICE
From the get go, our waiter was extremely warm and friendly. He was unfazed by our coupon and generous with his time throughout the evening. To skip ahead a bit, when the check came, our waiter was nearly apologetic about the obligatory tip on pre-​discount price. Other diners, it seemed, had been offended by the concept of tipping on the full value of the meal. Given the exalted service provided by our waiter and the excellent meal deal, I was very happy to tip on the original prices and I despair at the mannerless and idiotic boors who would dare quibble (particularly since it was an obvious condition of the discount). Truly the dredges of our society
FOOD
Let me reiterate the Blackboard Eats deal: $ 38 for a three course dinner with wine pairings. Yes, I agree… HOLLER!!! Here’s what we had (along with the typical menu prices for reference):
1. Fresh Chips — chip baskets trump bread baskets just about any day of the week. I could have used more old bay, but that’s because I’m a salt fiend
2. Rock Shrimp Taco ($ 9) — a large and tasty soft corn tortilla taco studded with a generous population of rock shrimp
3. Fried Oysters ($ 12) — generous portion of medium sized oysters fried crispy and served with a dill-​ranch dressing
4. Market Fish A La Plancha, Arctic Char ($ 24) — to say that this fish was perfectly cooked is almost an understatement. This was the best arctic char of my life, completely transcendent, and if I was the sort to cry over romcoms and puppies, this would have moved me to tears of joy. Simply stunning
5. Jumbo Lump Crab Cake ($ 25) — she was a big mother, but we got her down, and if we were a bit stuffed after that, it was worth it because this was mostly luscious lump crab meat, and if you’ve ever tried your hand at crab picking, you’d know that a lot of effort went down to get the crab meat necessary to make this crab cake happen
6. Charred Corn ($ 6) — this was good, but pales in comparison to Café Habana’s corn
I regret that I did not find the desserts memorable enough to remember, but that may be more due to my advanced age and overall gluttony than the caliber of the desserts in question
WINE PAIRINGS
Our wine pairings were very satisfactory and generously dispensed. The whites complemented the seafood quite well, and it would not be an overstatement to say that we teetered out into the evening
BEST SEAT: The corner tables, although they are probably usually reserved for parties of 3. The bar looked pretty spacious as well
PARTING THOUGHT: This is one of the best restaurant discounts I have had pleasure of enjoying so far!

If you love steamed crabs or are from Maryland this is the place to come. My boyfriend who was raised and grew up in Maryland swears that these crabs rival some of the best steamed crabs back home and I would probably have to agree. Unfortunately, they ran out of crabs the Sunday night we came and he didn’t get to have his fill of crabs that he ordered but we were impressed by the management there. They actually wanted to comp our entire meal because they ran out of crabs.
We also had a salad to start and that was pretty good but can’t attest for the other food really. If you want the steam crabs though — they only have them Apr — Sept.

This was my second trip to Choptank. The first was a spontaneous pop-​in during the summer (didn’t have a reservation, but it didn’t seem to matter). We enjoyed it so much that when the BBE deal came up, it was a no-​brainer to go again.
A big surprise was when our waiter told us that because we hadn’t specified «BBE» when we made the reservation, he might not be able to honor it for us. Turns out that there actually is some fine print somewhere that says that you need to inform them at the time reservations are made, so we’ll keep that in mind going forward. However, after conferring with the manager, he was able to give us the deal. Hurray!
Because there were three of us, we tried all of the appetizers that were available under the deal: the shrimp taco, crab dip, and Choptank dog. I know some people have found the shrimp taco on the small side, but I thought it was nicely proportioned for an appetizer. And because it comes with two tortillas, it’s easy to reconstruct it into two tacos for sharing. The crab dip delivered as advertised, but that type of thing really should be a slam dunk for any restaurant worth its salt. Anything that rich has to be good. And it was. But the appetizer we really got a kick out of was the Choptank dog. Seriously, who has a hot dog on their menu as an appetizer? It comes with crab dip on top, to get it into the spirit of the restaurant, I guess. We cut it into thirds, each about the size of a cocktail weenie, and it made for an enjoyable little bite.
Main courses were the crab cakes, fried chicken, and the market fish, which was swordfish. Both the crab cakes and fried chicken were solidly executed. If you order these and don’t enjoy them, you probably don’t like crab cakes or fried chicken. The standout here was the swordfish, something I usually wouldn’t order because I expect most restaurants to serve it overcooked. I chose it because I really wanted to try their fish. And, guess what, it was cooked perfectly, the most enjoyable piece of swordfish I’ve had in years. I haven’t eaten here enough to say that it will always be cooked that well, but it was great to have it that way at least once.
Desserts were bread pudding, some sort of red pepper ice cream, and Berger cookies. The Berger cookies were intriguing, because I know they are regional to Baltimore and I have wanted to try them for a while. So now I can say that a Berger cookie is essentially a New York black-​and-​white style cookie without the white, i.e., the glaze is all chocolate. Of the three, I enjoyed the bread pudding the most, but the Berger cookies had the votes of my companions.
The service was pretty good, except that we had a comedy of errors ordering our wine pairings. Our waiter explained the wines as being «either full-​bodied or lighter», as in «you have a choice of either a full-​bodied wine or a lighter wine with all of your courses.» After we requested more information, he explained that the full-​bodied wine was a syrah and the lighter wine was a pinot noir. Only after we expressed surprise at the red-​only selection did he inform us that there were whites as well, which were also described simply as «either full-​bodied or light», but without any more detail. Finally, after all of this, he said, «Would you like me to just bring you the chef’s recommended pairing for each selection?» Well, yes, that would have been nice to know before spending five minutes trying to sort it all out.
In the end, the wine pairings worked out fine and the dinner was very good. And in addition to the quality of the food, with the BBE deal, we were pleased with the cost as well.

I too dined at Choptank thanks to the BBE deal offering a $ 38 3-​course prix fixe dinner with drink pairings. Our reservation was for 6:30 and the place was pretty empty when we arrived. By the time we left just after 8, it was absolutely packed. For those who are worried about waiting or the restaurant running out of some options, try going a little bit earlier as we had no problems.
I started out with the Rock Shrimp Taco which I’ve seen some poor reviews on. I absolutely loved it and didn’t find it small at all. In fact, it was so packed full of goodness folding it was out of the question and I had to use my knife and fork to eat it. The salsa it came with was very flavorful and very spicy which was an unexpected bonus.
I was disappointed with the the options we were given for our entrees. I see a lot of reviewers here had the crab cakes but unfortunately that wasn’t on the list of items we could choose from. I don’t eat red meat so the burger was out. The 2 fish options (char and skate) didn’t interest me at all. That left me with the fried chicken. I found it incredibly underwhelming. It was all dark meat which I truly dislike so I ended up picking at the fried coating, which didn’t taste like much of anything, and leaving the meat. It came with a Celery-​Celeriac Salad that I enjoyed but it definitely wasn’t enough to be meal-​worthy.
Our dessert options included a scoop of vanilla ice cream, the berger cookies or a homemade cheesecake. After a very detailed description of the cheesecake by our server, I went with it. It came with a blood orange sauce on the side. The cheesecake was served in something akin to a crème brûlée dish and it was very creamy. The consistency was more like a thick pudding than a standard cheesecake. The graham cracker crumble on top brought the whole thing together.
I wish I could remember what drinks I had with each course. I had the white wine with my shrimp taco. I am not a wine drinker by any stretch of the imagination but I truly dug this one. I may need to call the restaurant and see if they can tell me what it was because it is driving me nuts! I had the beer option with my chicken and, while I don’t know what it was exactly, it was light and palatable. Our dessert came with a port which was a bit too sweet for me but it paired nicely with the cheesecake.
The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. When my dining companion accidentally spilled her blood orange sauce all over her cheesecake plate, they immediately brought out not only another cup of sauce but a clean plate as well.
The bill came with the tip already included and was just over $ 51 per person for the meal. It was definitely far less than what we would have paid for the same meal without the coupon, especially considering the alcohol alone made up nearly half the bill. As other reviewers have mentioned, I’m not sure I would go back and pay full price for the food that I got, however I would most certainly visit the bar and try another glass of white with a rock shrimp taco or two!

I came here with 2 friends to use my BBE coupon. As another reviewer mentioned, for $ 38 you get a «nibble,» entrée, dessert and a pairing of wine or beer with each course. I absolutely love the décor of this restaurant. It is so cute and the back dining area is separate rooms that are divided with glass. It’s just gorgeous. I especially loved eating at a high top.
I started with a very well made dark and stormy cocktail. For the first two courses I had the Cabernet. It was absolutely delicious. However, I had a white wine with dessert and that was pretty disappointing. Oh well.
For the nibbles, we split Classic Maryland Crab dip, fried oysters and the Rock Shrimp Taco. The Maryland Crab dip was a bit of a disappointment. Yes, it was delish, but I didn’t taste any crab. It just tasted like a very good cheese dip — not what I was looking for. The fried oysters were very plump and juicy, very delicious. The rock shrimp taco was good, but it was not easy for sharing and was way too small.
For my entrée I had the crab cake. This was delicious. It’s a legit Maryland lump crab cake, not «Maryland style» like so many places try to pawn off. However, if I didn’t have the BBE deal I’m not sure I would have paid $ 24 for it. I would have wanted two for that price. I guess there’s a mark up for importing onto the island of Manhattan from MD. I also sneaked a bite of my friend’s fried chicken and it was very tasty!
For dessert we all split the fried apple pie, peanut butter ice cream sandwich and some sort of chocolate cake. These were all fantastic. They seriously should put the dessert options on their website because they all sounded so great. The fried apple pie was not too sweet and not too overly fried, just perfect. The homemade ice cream sandwich was also incredible, as was the chocolate cake.
A solid 3 ½ stars, but I’ll round up for the great BBE deal.

My girlfriend and I came for the Black Board eats prix fixe special. This was all in all a pretty miserable experience.
Service:
–15 minutes past our reservation to be seated.
–20 minutes before the waitress even stopped by for the first time.
–25 minutes the amount of time between courses.
I enjoy lazy laid back meals as much as the next person, but this was ridiculous.
Food:
–Appetizer — Rock shrimp tacos, pretty tasty. One taco with enough filling for 2.
–Entrée — Crab cake and butternut squash with herb salad. Passable, but unimpressive. A nice creole aioli would have done wonders for this dish.
–Dessert — This is what eliminated any chance of a 2 star rating. Orange Crème soda float… while it was good, it was my 3^rd choice as they had run out of any good desserts. My girlfriend had to order 2 shortbread cookies with chocolate frosting slathered on them. Cheap frosting out a can on stale, mushy shortbread cookies. The chef should have been ashamed to put that if front of a paying customer.
Even with the prix fixe, for 2 people it still came out to over $ 100. For that price, you can find me at the Mermaid Oyster Bar.
On the plus side, they have a pretty decent selection of beer.
I’ve heard a lot about this place. They seem to have pretty decent specials for brunch. Maybe we just hit it on an off night, the waitress indicated that they had not expected any sort of crowd, but the place was slammed. Perhaps that can account for some of the poor service and running out of desserts, but only part.

Yum, yum, yum. And if you can still get the Black Board Eats price for $ 38, the meal will be even tastier! We each got an appetizer, entrée and dessert that included a pairing of beer or wine with EACH. In the words of my good friend, «That’s 3 boozes!» Indeed.
Our waiter was really attentive and took time to answer our questions. He was cool but also professional.
The crab dip. Please, get it. It looks and tastes absolutely delish. Creamy, warm and meaty. The complimentary chips go well with it, too.
I wasn’t as impressed with the rock shrimp taco. It was probably the most disappointing of all the food we got. It was really small with a few leaves sticking out and ⁵⁄₆ little fried shrimps just chillin’ on the taco. But it wasn’t pathetic. It just looked like the Little Engine that Tried.
I absolutely loved the fried oysters, though. I usually don’t. But these babies were so fresh and plump!
I got the Artic char (like salmon) with littleneck clams entrée. Very good. The skin of the char was just enough crispy and not tough. And I thought the little strips of Canadian ham was just a distraction. Shoo.
For dessert, I got the apple pie. It was warm and covered with cinnamon sitting next to a scoop of vanilla ice-​cream. It’s like the apple chimi-​cheesecake from Applebee’s! Don’t know if they still have it. It’s been eons since I’ve been there.
Oy, this meal just brought all smiles to our table =D

Amazingly great food with really charming rustic décor.
I’m a big fan of rustic, barnyard chic and this was kinda that with some gentrification thrown in. Somehow you feel like you’re in a really relaxed part of New York and the restaurant is a lot bigger than it seems.
Appetizers: Crab dip (Yumm, more creamy and less cheesy than I would have preferred but still very good). Fish taco (delicioso).
Entrees: Skate (delicious, lightly battered and fried, best one I’ve had in a while). Char, also very good. Crab cake was delicious but there’s just something abt my taste buds that I couldn’t stomach a whole crab cake for dinner.
Desserts: OMG, this is where it gets realllllyyyy good. I had a molasses cookie with homemade pumpkin ice cream. I could not have DREAMED a better dessert. Banana ice cream and peanut butter cookie tasted really good along with the puff pastry apple pie.
Waitstaff: I think we were stuck in between shifts but both the guy and girl were adorable and nice as could be.
Overall, thumbs way up.

If you can still get it, get the BBE deal for $ 38 three-​course meal. It’s totally, totally worth it.
Our waitress was very chill but professional. She admitted this was the first day of the BBE deal. However, she easily explained our choices and that there’d be a matching beer or wine for each course. Score!
My friend and I started off with the rock shrimp taco and the fried oysters. The oysters were pretty standard but definitely fresh. I liked the uniqueness of the taco, including the side salsa.
Our entrees were excellent. I got the arctic char with kale and guanciale, and my friend got the crab cake. We both agreed it was the best crab cake we had had in a long time. The arctic char was also very good, especially with the buttery sauce and crispy skin.
To top it off, our 10-​layer cake and peanut butter and banana ice cream cookie were really excellent. I was blown away by the ice cream cookie, even in the banana ice cream’s taste alone.
The wine pairings were excellent, including the sherry at the end. Overall, this was an awesome experience. I’m not sure I’d say this place emanates the Chesapeake atmosphere, but it’s classy while still maintaining a chill vibe.

The burger tour of the Northeast continues and Choptank has landed at the top of my list!
Stopped in for lunch, and had the whole place to ourselves. Typically a bad sign, but I was happy to have the opportunity to get to know the staff and the new chef, Kevin.
The ULTIMATE CHOPTANK burger was tremendously tasty; meat, scrapple and a fried egg on a sesame seed bun! Homemade fries were a plus! (two other recently reviewed burger places had terrific burgers, but stringy fries, hence, Choptank’s superior rating).
Also on our table was Arctic Char and a salad with crab; both excellent. And the menu has plenty of oysters and shellfish, so seafood lovers, take note!
Service was warm and friendly and made me want to go back. And I will. soon!

Went last night with freinds and had a really great time. The interior is unique with a quaint bar and an adjacent raw bar with an assortment of raw oysters. The back of the restaurant is tiered with old barn siding at the ceiling. On one tier, it is an outside attrium. Very nice. You don’t feel crowded even with a lot of people dining.
The food was interesting with a starter of Old Bay seasoned potato chips with a crab dip (yummy) and an assortment of 3 wursts (October fest fare) and the best sour kraut I have ever had out! Also had some fine German beer to go with those wursts.
Then a dozen mixed oysters. All fresh and sweet!
I ordered a hamburger which was cooked perfectly (med rare) with a bacon/​onion jelly to smear on top. This was a wonderful treat to my pallet.
One of our guests ordered the crab cake and there was no cake that I could see or taste, it was all fresh crab. One of there specialties.
If you are anywhere near this place, don’t miss it.

T have been wanting to come here for the longest, since T has sent me their menu 3x times now. (Their website never works for me!)
Their menu on menupages looks really good and interesting, so I definitely wanted to try this place out.

T and I both wanted Choptiki — appleton estate rum, pineapple, lime juice, simple syrup, prosecco — but I didn’t want to get the same drink so I decided to wait and try T’s before making my final decision.
The Choptiki arrived and for something that I thought would taste really fruity ended up tasting like pure alcohol. This drink is really strong and you could totally loose your mind after only drinking two of these suckers. I opted for Hot Green Tea instead.
We glanced over the menu and I was tempted to get the All You Can Eat Crabs but I decided not to since I am not a fan of high sodium food and totally turned off by the sound of Old Bay.
We ended up sharing the following items:
Jonah Crab Claws, Old Bay Vinegar — Good but I would had prefer cocktail sauce with it.
Virginia Ham Plate, Biscuits, Butter, Honey — Yummy and fluffy biscuits! The ham was really good too and I am not a huge fan of ham but I love the fact this tasted similar to prosciutto.
Rock Shrimp Taco, Cumin-​Lime Slaw — This was my favourite by far and it was so freaking good. I definitely would come back for this alone.
White Gazpacho, Maine Crab Salad — This was okay, I couldn’t really detect any crab in here and the flavour of this soup just didn’t really cut it for me.
Middleneck Clams, Garlic Butter, Herbs, Country Toast — This place did an awesome job at cleaning these clams because I didn’t taste any grittiness in them. Though the clams tasted clean, I wish they prepared these clams in a better way, since I couldn’t really taste much of the seasoning.
The Choptank Burger, Pickled Pepper Mayonnaise, Aged Wisconsin Cheddar, Bacon Jam, Fries — I skipped the pickled pepper mayonnaise. It was a bit too strong and I wasn’t sure if I tasted the Bacon Jam in the burger. We were stuffed and both of us couldn’t finish this plate. I have to say the meat tasted a bit too fatty for me.
I would have to say the service here was awesome and our waitress was exceptional.
I would come back just for the Rock Shrimp Tacos and service.

This place has a great youthful vibe, and incredibly friendly service. Our server checked on us with the perfect frequency, and our water glasses were constantly getting refilled.
My friend and I weren’t too hungry and only wanted to get a couple of things and the hostesses recommended the octopus and the burger. The burger surprised us. at a seafood restaurant? But it was worth it.
Here’s what we got:
31^st of August (cocktail) — watermelon, jalapeño — really really good. Like watermelon juice with a fairly strong kick from the pepper. Adds a good strength to the drink.
Chips w/​shrimp/​crabtail dip (free) — best «free» chips in the city. They are like kettle chips, with a slight burnt crisp. The dip is great, with a cream cheese-​like consistency. But the flavoring on the chips was a little inconsistent. Some chips are just perfect, some way too salty, some way too peppery.
Octopus (starter) — the two hostesses were all about this dish & raved about it, so we had to get it. But it was nothing very memorable. and the chickpea paste (I guess that would make it hummus?) didn’t go the best with the octopus, which tasted steamed and plain. Not much flavor. We didn’t even finish the dish (if you know me that is a rarity).
Burger — OMG absolutely amazing. The meat has such a fresh flavor to it. I can’t describe how perfect every bite was. Different in that no tomatoes/​lettuce, but instead thin crispy fried onion (excellent, excellent touch), and the mayo was sooo good. Every bite was just so juicy and wonderful.
Also have to note that I loved the music. Heard the likes of Modest Mouse, Lily Allen, and Passion Pitt.

After catching a Finish film about Saunas at IFC, my coworker brought me to this place as in a previous life it had been an Italian joint which she had absolutely raved about. We were a bit too lazy to pick one of the many other restaurants on the block and the crabs that people were hammering into looked pretty good, so we decided to try it out.
The inside of the resturant is quite modern and nice looking. They have a beautiful indoor/​outdoor garden which is a bit of a maze to access, but was a pleasant little spot to relax. The crab deal we had seen everyone participate in was $ 65 (per person) for all you can eat crabs. Being cheap, we decided just to order entrees.
I had the softshell crab sandwich with chipotle mayo and a side of Mexican Corn. Both were decent and the crab was pleasantly large and juicy. The waitress brought out some complimentary potato chips and crab dip which were the tastiest part of the meal.
My coworker’s shrimp cocktail was miniature and a bit overpriced by my standards. The wine was decent and reasonable in cost.
Over all enjoyable but not particularly outstanding. A good place to go if you feel like spending a whole afternoon and stuffing yourself with as much crab as humanly possibly.

I’ve always maintained that I hate fish. But recent experiences at places like Esca have made me realize that what I actually hate is bad fish. Good fish… can actually be quite good. And as far as Choptank is concerned, it can be great.
We were a large group, so we got to put a serious dent into the menu. A menu, which is actually kind of strange. Fish is definitely the prevalent theme, but with dishes like fried chicken thrown into the mix there was a definite southern flare to it all. Mixed with a kind of New Englandy thingamajig. It’s a weirdly defined menu, but it works.
We started with an assortment of starters including the fish sticks (which were an awesome updated throwback), shrimp tacos (EAT THESE!), clams (my first time with them — pretty good), oysters (my first time with them — couldn’t bring myself to do it though. Small steps.)
My main was the Jumbo Crab Cake with spicy potato salad. Or as I like to call it: A complete victory of food. The crab cake was spectacular, and the potato salad was the perfect, and perfectly spicy, companion. The other standout on the table that I got to sample was the misplaced fried chicken. Which was awesome. And it is served with a cracked pepper honey to dip into that is spectacular.
High five Choptank. You’re awesome.

I came here last week and I thought it was really cute and made our meal end up being a little interactive and fun. The atmosphere was casual, but still managed to be intimate.
We started with the German sausage, saurkraut and pretzel and shared the crabs as an entrée. It was fun hammering the crabs and just getting messy with our food. I had a great time, but I would probably advise not to drink too much if you have to work for your food. the alcohol can sneak up on you!

What is a choptank? A top secret US military vehicle that runs on chop’t salad? A fish tank filled with pork chops? How about a restaurant named after a river in Maryland that serves cuisine inspired by that region?
I’ll work with the latter.
While Choptank’s menu does offer a fair sampling of Chesakpeake seafood, it’s not just about the life aquatic here. There’s also the life alcoholic and I was pleasantly surprised by the cocktail and beer offerings. You’ll find the Green Preservation Society (The Davies brothers of the Kinks must have prohibited use of the word «Village») which consists of Hendricks Gin, Fresh Cucumber Juice, Simple Syrup, Lime, Cracked Grains of Paradise. Ask for this drink and you’ll receive a glass of green that’s perfect for summer weather. There’s also the Light and Mildly Inclement (as opposed to Bermuda’s Dark and Stormy). On the beer front you’ll find Abita Purple Haze, Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA (from Frederick, Maryland), Kapuziner Weissbier and more on tap.
While drinking is fine, you may want to actually eat as well. Choptank has you covered and will just give you a serving of homemade potato chips seasoned with Old Bay and crab dip while you wait for your entrée. The chips were a welcome change from standard bread and the Old Bay seasoning could make cardboard taste great.
We started with two appetizers, the jonah crab claws and virginia ham plate. The claws, all 6 of them, were of moderate size, already cracked and fairly meaty but not meaty enough for us to regret a second appetizer. The second appetizer of virginia ham was a success as it came with two biscuits, honey and butter. The ham was thinly sliced, almost prosciutto like but drizzling honey onto a fresh biscuit was the experience I’d most like to repeat from the appetizer scene.
My main course of skate came with spaetzle, a welcome treat that illustrates a German influence on Maryland cuisine. For instance, we could have ordered a sausage and pretzel as an appetizer as well.
The skate did not over or under impress and was on the light side… which enabled a dessert feast I’m still thinking about.
10 layer cake! Don’t worry, the layers are very thin but there are ten layers separated by chocolate icing, with more chocolate icing surrounding the cake itself. But wait– it’s topped with a scoop of homemade vanilla iced cream! And if that isn’t enough, order up two berger cookies! Thick, creamy chocolate covering a small vanilla cookie. I’d venture to say that the chocolate covering is thicker than the cookie and that is quite all right.
All in all, choptank’s drinks, dessert and appetizer are the weights that earn the 4 stars. And, lest I forget, our waitress was genuinely friendly, helpful and all around enthusiastic. There’s a large bar area and then the main dining room. AC was pumped up rather high which actually helped on a hot Friday evening. Extra points are earned for playing two more obscure Clash songs («Brand New Cadillac» and «Career Opportunities» harpsichord version from the Sandinista album) along with David Bowie. (Beatles, Beach Boys and Chuck Berry too)
Excluding drinks, our bill was in the $ 80 range. Two appetizers, two desserts, two entrees and not that much damage. Cocktails will range from $ 9– $ 14. It’s obviously more expensive than in Maryland proper but think of the travel savings.

Fish shackish… spot with a Maryland style flair. Knowledgable and friendly staff, Waitress gave a perfect explanation of deifference in burger doneness (kudos). Nice outdoor space to pretend you are somewhere else.
Start off with housemade potato chips with old bay seasoning with a crab dip served at the table.- yum.
No crab chowder this weekend (seasonal) so I went for the white gazpacho with peekytoe crab. Almonds made this gazpacho ($ 12) white and a fair amount of spice made it extra TASTY.
My companian had the steamers which looked like steaemers with drawn butter and lemon.
Main…scottish salmon with asparagus, sunchoke purée ($ 22) was seafood perfection.
My companions burger– he opted out of the spicy pickled may (oshucks) looked delish and the skinny onion rings I tasted were. They make their own ice-​cream which I will try on a return trip to Choptank.

What’s up people? This place is ON POINT!
They’re friendly, the food is excellent and the prices aren’t killer. Oh and they serve a complimentary basket of old bay seasoned potato chips with delicious crab dip to EVERY table!
We had a drink at the bar before hand and I asked the bartender what was best on the menu and when he told me to get the fried chicken, I was like «aren’t you guys known for your seafood?» Apparently that is a common misconception for them.
I took the tender’s advice and ordered the chicken and boy was he right! I know this is bold, but I am going to say it’s better than Clinton Street AND Blue Ribbon’s (dont worry BR, your collards are still número uno to me). The chicken was crispy, fresh, moist and they give you a massive 6 piece portion for $ 20.
We also ordered the crab cake which was 99% fresh lump crab meat which is nice to see — but it was a little bland and became slighted by our love for the chicken.
We were too full for dessert, but I will definitely be back!
