Citibank

Citigold, you are a far cry from HSBC. Service with a smile? No hidden fees? A user friendly Internet banking platform? A private lounge with books, tv, charging stations and nespresso?! Sorry it took so long to find you! Met with Alexis earlier today and he was such a charm! I love the relationship, single point of contact model! This location looks renovated.

Has to be the longest way to travel to see a teller. Around the corner, down the stairs, around another corner, down another set of stairs and then you have arrived. Sounds like a journey. Then with only a line of a few people the teller service took forever and a day.

This branch sits on New York’s prestige Fifth Avenue with a fairly good banking operating hours of Mondays to Fridays 8am to 6pm. There are two large plasma TV fending news nonstop to patrons while waiting for service or ensure the continual decline of this economy in a abject misery state. Service is with a smile and proficient without grinding agita or the typical rude scowl profile look. This location is minutes away from Madison Avenue and is a tourist trap nearby St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

I have always been a fan of Citibank. From being one of the first banks to have ATMs, Mileage reward programs, weekend hours, they have always been a great bank. Heck, they even have an exclusive deal putting their ATM machines into all the 7−11s that have ATM machines.
The reason why I chose to rate this particular location was because they helped me out BIG TIME. Due to a banking mistake I had made, my ATM card had been disassociated with my account. I was unaware of this and lost my card in a machine in Virigina. Unfortunately this happened after weekend banking hours, so there was nothing I could do there. Citibank said I had to address the situation ina branch because i had to give visual proof I was who I said I was.
Unfortunately Citibank had not moved up to Boston yet, so I was stuck with the closest locations being Westport, CT and then NY. (They now have 5 in the Metro Boston by the way! Yeah!) So when I came home to NYC for Thanksgiving last year, I went to Citibank to discuss the problem.
Not only was I seen by a CS Representative in under 5 minutes, but they apologized for any inconveniences (which were not even their fault) and provided me with a temporary ATM card right there and then to tide me over until my real Debit card came in the mail.
