City Eye Optical

Service is very bad. The sales has no manners and disrespectful. Will never ever recommend this place. When I pick up my glasses they didn’t even help us to adjust it. Never been to an optical store with this bad of service. I am very disappointed.

Cecilia is a great sales lady and wonderful to work with. I went in there to get new frames and in less than 10 minutes she gave me 5 frames that fit me perfectly when I tried them on. Needless to say, she knows her stuff. And if you aren’t too indecisive or here to pick stuff up, you could be totally in and out in minutes, which is why I particularly like to come here with my parents.
I’ve come in for an eye exam, check up, and mostly for my new frames this year and the previous year. On the times I’ve visited, she’s always around but her assistants seem to change sometimes. All of the times I’ve went, everyone’s super nice. They’re also all trilingual so they all can speak Canto, Mando, and English (at least from what I’ve heard).
Lots of frames, always some sort of discount that month, and quality frames.
Well actually that seems to be a hit and miss and here is why I almost want to give this place 3 stars. Not only has my dad’s frames somehow unscrew themselves at one point, but sometimes when I’ve stepped in I’ve seen guys come in telling them, «hey one screw on my frame just popped off on its own». Hm. I’ve had frames that last years without having a side pop off or get loose. I see that they sometimes tighten the screws for the customers themselves. Except when my dad came in at one point, that old guy there wanted to charge him? I don’t know what was up with that. Plus if you read my tip down there, that old guy also accidentally burned the sides of my head after he molded my new frames. Yeah, I wasn’t paying attention when he was done molding, and he put my frames on after heating the sides up. I just felt this intense burn on both sides and just went OW really loudly. I dunno, as a person, I’m not very fond of neglectful people.
He also laughed (right in front of my mom mind you) and said sorry in between laughs. I like coming here and getting frames from Cecilia, but I definitely want to stay away from that guy if I could.

I have had eye glasses made in 10 different places and I never got the treatment that I received from City Eye Optical. The whole staff were very friendly and helpful. The manager Cecilia was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I walked in and got my eyes examined, chose frame and type of lens. Cecilia told me the eye glass will be ready in one week. Within two days, I got the call that my eye glass was ready for pick up. I would definitely recommend City Eye Optical to everyone.

Great customer service and got a good deal on my glasses. There was a 20% discount on certain frames and you get to use your vision insurance too. The purchase of glasses came with free eye exam, anti-​glare and adjustment. The doctor was very professional and cleanly; he sanitized and wiped down all the equipments right in front of me. I felt comfortable to put my face on the machine and the room wasn’t cramped like the ones i’ve been to in manhattan. He usually leaves at 6pm and come on certain days. The store is open all seven days and closes at 7:30pm.
There was a wide selection of brand name prescription and sunglasses to pick from. The staff members here speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Cecilia was very helpful in explaining everything clearly, she was very accommodating and friendly. I am usually very picky when it comes to shopping yet she had a lot of patience and kept her professional composure. It was a enjoyable experience selecting a pair of fashionable eye glasses with her because she offers great suggestions. The boss is lucky to have such an exceptional employee like her. Everything went smooth, quick and easy; I picked up my glasses the day after my eye exam. I am very happy with my purchase and got two other people I know to come get their glasses here. I highly recommend this place.

I was here with my friend who just needed an eye exam for her DMV renewal. The equipment in the exam room was so nice and clean. the eyeglasses collections are wide. I bought a pair of sunglasses when my friend was doing her exam. I love this store. And I believe it’s the best optical store in this area. Thanks.

Saw this store on my meeting up with some friends. Since I had time before my friends came. I stop by the store just to check it out. The sales and doctor there was very helpful in examining and choosing a frame. I came out with 2 pairs of frames. One everyday and one sunglasses. I would recommend this places to friends.

1 week ago i came here because i am working nearby. they have professional staff answer ur every concerns and issues，a manager called ‘cecilia’ was really helpful and professional. she suggested the best pair of eyeglasses fit me the most. and they carry most of the big brands u can find in the market. they also have doctor in store to do the examination before u want your prescription eyeglasses. the price is reasonable and lovely. excellent services and atmosphere makes u feel comfortable to get in. although is a small optical store but is the one you don’t wanna miss out。

I just had a great experience at this optical store, Cecilia was great, very friendly and talkative. I didn’t made any appointment and was in the chair right the way. I actually brought my own frames and they did an eye exam and installed my lenses within an hour! great job! now I can see everything

Came here for contact lenses and had a great experience. The doctor is very thorough and made sure that the contacts were comfortable. She even went as far as staining and dilating my eyes to make sure that I didn’t have any damage because I mentioned that I sometimes see floaters. The staff is helpful and there is also a great selection of eyeglasses that I plan on going back for.

Heard about this place from my boyfriend and he said it was good so I went there for an eye exam the other day and picked up my glasses today. I picked rayban frames. The sales lady Cecelia is helpful and nice. The store is small but has a variety of different frames and the prices are decent. I also checked in for 30% off the frames I picked.

After losing 2 pair of glasses within a few months, I was down to my last pair so I decided it was time to get an extra pair before I have to find my way around NYC using my other senses. City Eye Optical is a small hole in the wall kind of store but they had a wide selection of designer frames. I decided to walk in because they took my insurance and I lived nearby. The saleslady (I forgot her name) who greeted me was very helpful and friendly. She helped me select a variety of frames to try on after I described what I was looking for. The whole time I felt at ease while trying on the different frames. I did not feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. Total, I paid less than $ 100 for the eye exam, frames and anti-​glare scratch resistant lenses. I’m a happy customer. Another plus is that they have staff members who speak Chinese, English and/​or Russian.

In the last 3 days I had dry eyes and couldn’t see well from near of far. I suddenly lost vision! My eyes hurt and wasn’t able to write my phd for more than 30 minutes without making a long pause to rest my eyes. I was really worried. On a sunny Sunday after July 4^th I called Cecilia who assisted me carefully once I got there. And received then great attentions from doctor Michelle D. who checked –with all the machines possible– my poor eyes. She sent me for more exams to another good doctor they work with, faxing her all the medical informations possible. I payed 30 $ and got even a discount on new lenses without pushing me to buy anything. I’m really satisfied and thankful.

Best, cheap, and wonderful collection of glasses. I just got my A/​X glasses and paid very little compare to the other store prices. They also take insurance and there customer service is 100% friendly. I recommend this place for anyone who wants to afford good quality for low price.

Really great selection of designer labels, wide variety and styles, and fair prices. Very stylish and unique as well! I purchased a fabulous pair of Miu-​Miu vintage/​old Hollywood style eyeglasses last year, and I do not stop getting complimented on the street. It is a fashionista’s dream for those with have the misfortune of imperfect vision.

I recently purchased a new pair of glasses from City Eye Optical and they are now my favorite pair! I was so impressed with how friendly and attentive the staff is. They have a huge selection of frames and the sales person was really helpful in choosing the right pair for me. I will definitely be recommending them to my friends!

I’ve been to many other optical places before but this is truly the best place– the staffs are warm and the products are stylish and IN!!! Cecilia helped me when I was there– she is so patient, friendly and professional! This place changed my normal point views of optical shop!

I have been going to other places but this store is affordable and the people are nice. The prices here are really good. The selection of frames is smaller but that’s because the store is a bit small. Unlike other stores that I have been to, this one has promotions from time to time. Most recently I saw that they had 20% off Ray Bans.
I have only bought contacts here last year and I have been coming back ever since.
The staff members here speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. The service here is great. They are very quick and are not that pushy.
The doctor only comes in on Saturdays. The wait can be long but if you come early enough the line is short. If I recall correctly, the doctor comes in at 11am.

I usually don’t write reviews (too lazy) but I will do exception. This place deserve high traffic! I spent some time looking for a prescription frame for my husband. We got his previous couple of frames and exams in the Cohen’s Optical in the city. We moved to Bensonhurst recently so we tried to find something local. OMG what a hustle. There are quite few optical stores in the area, but all of them are so unwelcoming with high markups! City Eye Optical just the opposite. Its a very fresh place, with friendly hip staff, great selection of frames and unbeatable low prices. After getting two frames done in this place we realized how much extra money we spent in Cohen’s previously!!! I highly recommend this place if you need exam, want new pair of glasses, contact lenses or shades!
