I’m currently visiting my best friend in New York, and it’s sort of a tradition when we get together to get mani/pedis together. I had checked out the spas and everything on Unilocal prior to going, and Pure Spa had originally jumped out at me. So, we decided to go after going to Foxy’s Diner [AMAZING by the way]. We found Pure Spa, liked the atmosphere, and so we went in. There were maybe three women sitting in the waiting area and it didn’t seem to be too busy. The woman behind the desk asked us if she could help us and we said that we each wanted a mani/pedi. She asked if we had an appointment and we didn’t, so she said that they were completely booked. But we could certainly take a brochure! Meh. We decided to take a walk down Queens Blvd. and see if we couldn’t find another place to treat us. We saw City Nails and Skin and so we popped in. Their prices were wonderful, and they weren’t busy so we decided to stay! They were SO attentive and friendly, I had a wonderful time. The pedicure was great, very soothing, and very little tickling, haha. They were very helpful, and when it was time to leave, after they dabbed oil on our fingers and toes they helped us into our shoes, jackets, and one woman actually tied my scarf for me! They were so cute, and I put my email address on their list in hopes of coming back next time I visit Sunnyside. The reason for the 4 stars was that my technician was a bit rough when taking off my cuticles and left me with some tiny cuts that stung a bit. Other than that, I loved it! I certainly recommend it.
