Clark Street 2/3 Station

This station is not people friendly in the least. The fact that it gets me to work in 15 minutes is the only positive thing about it. Besides for that, I feel like a piece of cattle being hurried to my death. The platform is narrow and always hot no matter the temperature outside. The only way to get to the platform/​street is by taking one of the 2 elevators, which for some reason would be the perfect size for a cow. The elevators are even hotter than the platform and painfully slow. There’s got to be a better way.

This is the first stop in Brooklyn of the 2 and 3 subway. The only way in is via elevator, although the station itself isn’t accessible, being that there’s a flight of stairs down to the platform. Being strictly for the old IRT trains, the platform is pretty narrow.
Also, the middle elevator was out-​of-​commission for at least six months within the past year, because they needed to fabricate a custom part for it. I had the impression that this elevator would let out directly on the platform when it was repaired, but no such luck.
I’ve always found the gated stairway near the elevators to be quite tantalizing, but alas, the gate has never been open. You would need to navigate a whole extra level, since the elevator goes down two whole levels to the platform. You see, I’ve thought this through.
Best thing? It lets out in beautiful Brooklyn Heights.

This station. I have lived in Brooklyn Heights for around 2 months… and already I have had much entertainment here.
— The lack of stairs. The elevators are a PAIN IN THE ASS. The elevators are an impediment when you are running late. As is the hallway you have to walk (I usually run down it) through to get to the trains. Especially painful when it’s 2am, you are waiting for the elevator, the train is arriving, and the next one won’t come for 18 minutes. Torture.
— The elevators. My friend informed me that one time she was in the elevator when a girl proceeded to calmly pee herself, and her boyfriend nonchalantly asked, «Are you alright?»
I think of this every time I’m in that elevator.
— Some good however. A few weeks ago, I was in the packed elevator. There was a drag queen, already very tall, wearing extremely tall heels. This was at about 10am on a weekday. He looked fantastic. People were deliberately not looking at him but I shamelessly checked out his outfit & makeup. He complimented my bright purple lip gloss. It made my day.
— Another time, I was heading home late at night (dressed rather fabulously I might add.) I saw two little girls alone in the station. I wondered, why are there children alone in the subway at night??? They said to someone, «Nobody is there.» Then, when I was waiting for the elevator, the girls, a 30-​something neckbeard type guy, and this old lady all came up to me. I was very confused. The neckbeard guy pulled out a clipboard and proceeded to ask me, «Are you homeless?»
I was offended. I do NOT look homeless. He then proceeded to ask me my age, whether I had a place to sleep, the last time I showered, and whether I had ever been homeless. He made markings on the clipboard and thanked me. The whole situation was very odd. He claimed it was for a survey but I don’t think I believe him.
At least I have never encountered weird bodily fluids in this station? They need to put some damn stairs in here.
