Clinilabs operates two state-​of-​the-​art research facilities in midtown Manhattan and Eatontown, NJ. Our goal is to facilitate efficient, expedited drug development that ultimately may provide those in need with new and effective therapies. Performing clinical research studies is imperative to this mission.

All research activities at Clinilabs are performed strictly under federal regulations and with respect to the Good Clinical Practices guidelines. Our research staff empowers study participants by educating them about clinical research and subsequently enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their study participation.

Meet the Manager

Gary Z.

Manager

Gary Zammit, Ph.D. is the President and CEO of Clinilabs, Inc., a specialty contract research organization he founded in 2001. Prior to assuming his current position, Dr. Zammit served as President of Pharmasys International, a clinical drug development consulting firm he founded in 1995.

Dr. Zammit currently is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychology (in Psychiatry) at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He earned a PhD degree in clinical psychology from the University of Toledo (Toledo, Ohio). Dr. Zammit completed an internship and fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at the New York Hospital — Cornell University Medical College, where he won the Alumni Award for Excellence. Dr. Zammit is widely known as a key opinion leader in the field of clinical drug development, has authored more than 80 original reports and two books, and currently serves as an advisor to several pharmaceutical companies.

I previously reviewed this facility on 12÷9÷2013. Apparently they have upgraded the waiting room since then (I’m happy to have had an impact), but virtually all of the other problems remain. I have no axe to grind, no ulterior motives. I just feel people should know what they are getting into if they sign up with Clinilabs. Please check my previous review for more details. Incidentally, I don’t buy their argument that patients all have wear color-​coded surgical scrubs to avoid getting soiled, e.g. from a blood test. I have had countless blood tests in doctors’ offices over the years, always in my regular clothing. A simple color coded wristband, like the patient IDs in hospitals (which handle countless patients), would be effectively identify patients without dehumanizing them.

Recently participated in a study with this lab. There were many problematic issues — no callbacks, improper forms, vague quality assurance, poor record keeping and no confirmed appointments. Both front staff and administrators showed poor professionalism and ethics dealing with clinical patients. A lead researcher at Mt. Sinai expressed their reservations about Clinilabs and I could see why. I would not recommend this facility to people seeking medically necessary treatment, evaluations or testing. Since healthy volunteers would not be bothered by these issues, the review is two stars.

I recently met with Dr. Lund, medical director of the sleep disorders clinic. I found him to be warm attentive and thorough. I then met with Pinky who was a delight. She fitted me with CPAP mask and processed my paperwork on an expedited basis so that I could have my equipment immediately. These people truly go the extra mile. The one improvement I would suggest is to the reception staff. When I arrived the receptionist was in a brutal argument with her boyfriend on the phone. The conversation was clearly audible to everyone in the waiting room. She should’ve been speaking from a private area or taken it out to the street where such conversations belong.

I was referred to this facility by my cardiologist. After confirming my appointment the day of the appt. I received a phone call to confirm the appointment. The rooms look like a cheap motel and the walls are thin. While waiting for the tech to make me into a circuit board, everyone that passed my room would look in. I was starting to feel like a fish in a bowl. Finally, after being plugged up and ready to drift off to sleep I could hear the «techs’» conversations and chairs sliding across the floor of the observation room. Then either one of the machines kept malfunctioning or I am very close to dying, but alarms kept going off in my room every 15 — 30 minutes. They finally moved me and my belongings to another room. Everything seemed fine for about 4 hours then the alarms started again. (Now I am convinced that I am close to death). Everything else went according as planned until it was time to leave. There was no personnel in sight to actually let me out of «The Bates». Finally a staff member was walking by and I asked her to let me out. She asked me to wait by the door while she checked on her «patient». After a minute I went backed to her to ask her to open the door again. Apparently I wasn’t going to be let out until she finished her final consultation. So I walked off looking for someone else to open the door so that I could leave… ghost town. Finally asked another woman that worked there and she called out to the 1st snotty «consultant «to see if I was her patient. Oh by now she was ready to release me. While following her to the door I heard my tech’s voice come from nowhere to say goodbye. (Where was he when I wanted to leave?) He was a very courteous guy. I’m just glad it’s over. I hope I do not have to do that again. If so, I will look into using another facility.
Oh forgot to mention the Wi-​Fi didn’t work either. It didn’t work the 1st time either. So confirm before checking into the motel to save you the trouble of lugging in your laptop.
