Cold Stone Creamery

Cold stone Creamery, on paper is a good idea. But whenever you walk into one of the locations, you almost instantly regret it. The store itself had a confusing setup with no direction at all and the service is poor. Other than that, the ice cream is really great. Oh and by the way, for some reason the employees don’t understand large medium or small so instead one must say «like it «or «love it». If you’re looking for good cold stone ice cream, just get it in a container at the grocery store.

Went in tonight with my boyfriend, and roommate. Was not greeted upon arrival and stood in the front of the store for a couple minutes before someone said «If you’re here for ice cream you need to go back there» and pointed us in the correct direction. When we finally decided what we wanted there was a young woman who took our order, didn’t get her name but she was the most UNFRIENDLY of staff at this location. When I said I wanted a simple cake batter ice cream with peanut butter cups she angrily said «we don’t have those» as I was staring right at the «Reeses pieces» and pointed at them. So she responded «Those are Reeses.» as if I didn’t know. She then proceeded to yell at my roommate and ask not once but three times «what do you want??» Not a what can I get you? But a nasty «What do you want?» She didn’t hand us our ice cream either she tossed them on the counter as if we were bothering her. Will not be coming back for the simple fact that the customer service was horrible. If you don’t like people– don’t work in Times Square.

I’ve been several times and I love it each time. It’s great you can choose whatever toppings and flavors you want but it’s simultaneously overwhelming– so many choices, so little time! The ice cream is pure deliciousness with its creamy/​semi-​thick texture. Love it… looking forward to it again.

I came here an I had the best ice cream ever it’s like an organism in your month wow I’m a BIG fan of you guys it’s so good an yummmmmmmmmy I love it. It brings me back to when I was a little boy. Delicious fantastic those are my Big words to describe my love of you guys.

Tasty, nice made, great staff. Go there when your ice cream level is low and get any of the taste they are offering. We got the coffee and the cheesecake ones, delicious.

I loved my ice-​cream! Had the chocolate devotion and it was amazing, chocolate ice-​cream, fudge and brownie!
Only downside to this location is there is no seating. That’s fine if it’s a nice day, but people stand in the small foyer area and hog all the space to stand and eat their ice cream inside, so it always appears really busy and you have to climb your way to the front of the line.

During my high school days, I was a Cold Stone scooper. I scooped and mixed and sang (and ate lots of free ice cream) with joy. I’d avoided the Times Square location up til this week because I figured it would ruin my memories of the good ol’ days. But a friend suggested we visit so I thought I’d give it a shot. Back in the day, my go-​to was Founders’ Favorites, but I forced myself out of my comfort zone and got something new. He got the Birthday Cake Remix and I got the Coffee Lovers Only.
My cup of ice cream was melted halfway down the block. So that was kind of lame. But otherwise, I enjoyed my cup of ice cream (aka soup). Friend liked his too. It was mixed well. Not sure I’d go back because if I’m paying that much, I don’t want it to be sludgy.
And no, they don’t sing at this location.

Terrible service. There are no signs indicating where to order, so there’s just a bunch of confused tourists standing around. They didn’t greet me, and they didn’t honor my Unilocal freebie of free sprinkles. Never coming here again

Well, it’s not cheap, but here you can truly be the creator of your own ice cream adventure :-D you can choose all the ingredients and add as many options as you want. I especially like the fact that all the ingredients are mixed together on the cold stone, makes it easier to eat. Be careful not to mix too many things together though. From the outside the place doesn’t really look like it would have great ice cream… being a tourist I almost went by.

My first time ever at a Cold Stone and it was the best! I got the strawberry blonde. Yummy!!!
Service was excellent and I’m kind of upset it’s taken me so long to step inside of one of their establishments. good job! To the manager, all of your employees treated me and my friend with excellent service. Thank you!

It’s hotter than a tater tot today.
Underwowed by Cold Stone each time I’ve tried it. The quality of the ice cream was particularly melty and sludgey this time. It really was like the equivalent of grocery store ice cream with lots of air mixed in. I am particularly turned off by the artificial colors, I can’t help wondering what kind of harmful food coloring has been added to get those shades of blue and pink.
This store is very cramped and crowded both for employees and customers. It consists of a long narrow space to order the ice cream from. No place to sit and relax at all.

Got the cold shoulder at cold stone.
It was crowded. (No shit. It’s at Times Square, so that’s expected.) Stood in line 15 minutes, then an employee tells us to follow him to a different line. We go with him (losing our old place!) and the new line is longer. We complained and left.
I’d like my 15 minutes back.

Well, I will give them a star because this is in the Times Sq area and things must be very difficult and tiring with the endless tourists and crazies.
Now, in terms of the rating, it is all about lacking of any customer service and a lack of professionalism. The store is nuts. There are two sides. Only one side was being used. The flow of the line is not very clear which leads many to walk into you and try to cut you in line. In terms of the staff, well they are just ghetto, have their music blazing too loud, and act put out when they take your order. Though, if you are a woman, you may get served a lil better, you know what I mean?
Clean up your act. What a mess.

So the ice cream is okay, not exceptional, but it is an experience. I’ve been going there for years and now I always take the same chocolate devotion you gotta have it.
My issue, is that it is too expensive. You can go around the corner to Ben & Jerry’s and get a pint for less… But Coldstone is the experience of seeing them prepare the mess you’re about to eat in front of you.

The service is great and there weren’t any lines when we went (surprising because Times Square is a wreck). So overall it was a pleasant experience. We mostly were motivated by the very convincing and persuasive TV ads recently. We got the brownie and peanut butter and chocolate signature ice cream mix.
Overall, a little disappointing. It was definitely not as thick and creamy as Van Leeuwen or some of the other standard ice cream places. I really think it’s because of the mixing of other additions into the ice cream that makes it a little too thin for my taste personally. I’d definitely go back and try some of the other flavors — I mean it is a creamery right?

I hate, hate, hate going to the Times Square area. My quandry manifested when Cold Stone closed the 2 other locations in my area, leaving me with the decision to either quit Cold Stone or enter Times Square and get me some Cold Stone.
Ok, so I can’t quit the Stone, so I swallowed my pride and entered the West 42^nd Street location. I am glad I did just that. This is a giant ice cream shop and they quickly crank out ice creams. Also, all of the people here are friendly to every guest. I have been here several times since the other locations closed and they have been consistently very good every time.
Need ice cream? Head to Times Square and go to Cold Stone. And once your brain freeze wears off, run away!

Nearly impossible to find where you’re supposed to order at on a late night. It looked like they were closing early when I got here but I did manage to get my ice cream and get going. I think some employees had their friends around since it looked like they were chit-​chatting at 11 – 12 at night.
But the ice cream fix did satisfy (I still can’t eat more than a Like It size). I still mourn some of the old products like the At the Cocoa Cabana Banana creation.

The ice cream is super good here. I’ve been here multiple times and haven’t had a bad experience yet!
You can sample as much as you want. And you should because every single flavor is so unique to Cold Stone Creamery.
I love this place.
I tried 5 or 6 flavors and they were all fantastic. I really couldn’t decide between any of them, not only is it the perfect texture of creaminess but also the flavors will blow your mind away. I got the «Strawberry Banana Rendezvous» and it was extremely filling, fresh and delicious.
Staff here is super friendly and happy, plus always welcoming. Every recommendation was amazing, so don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations!
Let me tell you, Cold Stone Creamery at this location, the staff is the sweetest and gracious people out there!
I will try not to eat so much ice cream again!

You want to eat some really good ice cream? Just go to Cold Stone. It is a little bit pricey, but they make really good ice cream on which you can add whatever topping you want (butterfingers, rainbow sprinkles, m&m’s, etc). The place is well located, close from the Madam Tussaud museum and Time Square. So if you need a break during your visits. Just stop there, you will love it.
Recommendation:
Yellow cake batter mix. My god! I just screwed up my diet.
Weekdays: The shakes are $ 4 dollars on the weekdays!!! Ok, I need to have them on a cheat day. Forget fast food shakes, this spot is the… You know what I am getting at.
Bloody hell, I am almost done withy shake, heading back now! Oh they got them singing catchy songs (beware!)

Man wähle die Eissorte, dann 2 kleine Reeses-​Peanutbuttercups, dann noch Peanutbutter und Schokosoße und Schokofudgekuchen und geröstete, salzige Peanuts und Gurken, Schrauben, Schnürsenkel, Rockmusik und Glitzer dann ist die Schweinerei vollkommen. Gut, ohne den Merchandise ab den Erdnüssen eine herrlich-​geniale Creation! Die schmeckt, die Spaß macht, die nochmalnochmal schreit! Und jetzt Minzeis und Zitroneneis mit Aftereight und Schokosoße und .*

Mein NY-​Geschmackserlebniss! :)
Hier gibt es eine riesige Auswahl von Eissorten und Beilage (Schokolade, Smarties, Aber auch Gummibärchen und Co.)
Man kann von jeder Eissorten probieren bevor die eigene Kreation auf dem Cold Stone (vergleichbar mit dem heißen Stein nur für Eis) zur individuellen Eissorten zusammengemischt und serviert wird. Die Preise orientieren sich nicht an der Zahl der Eissorten und Beilagen sondern an der Auswahl des Bechers, und man kann sagen, dieses Eis gibt es für jeden Geldbeutel.
Waren vom Geschmack derartig fasziniert, dass wir in unsern 3 Tagen Aufenthalt mindestens 5 mal hier waren und man mich bei meinem nächsten NY-​Aufenthalt sicherlich hier antreffen wird: D

Verdammt lecker! Allein die Zubereitung dieser Köstlichkeiten ist schon eine sehenswerte Angelegenheit. Und wenn man dann noch né leckere Auswahl getroffen hat, ists einfach nur noch ein Traum und jeden Cent (Dollar :)) wert.

ACHTUNG: SUCHTGEFAHR :-D!
Das Prinzip:
Man sucht sich seine Lieblingseissorte (n) aus, wählt beliebig viele Extrazutaten, die dann auf einem kalten Stein unter das Eis gemischt werden. Das ganze wird in einer leckeren großen Waffel (wahlweise mit Schokoladenüberzug u. a.) serviert.
Die Eissorten:
Alles, was man sich so vorstellen kann. Natürlich gibt es zahlreiche gewöhnliche Sorten, aber auch etwas ausgefallenere (z. B. Käsekuchen, Plätzchenteig, Minze, Erdnusbutter etc.) und für die sehr Experimentierfreudigen auch Varianten wie Kürbis, Eierlikör, Haferflocken-​Keks oder Wassermelone.
Die Toppings:
Ich wiederhole mich, aber ebenfalls: Alles, was man sich so vorstellen kann ;-). Diverse Früchte, Nüsse und Saucen, versch. Sorten Kuchen, Kekse und andere Süßigkeiten (z. B. Brownies, Vanillekuchen, Oreos, Marshmallows, Fudge, Twix…).
An diesen Toppings wird nicht gespart, es landet davon reichlich im Eis.
Qual der Wahl:
Die hat man in der Tat, wenn man sich sein Eis komplett selbst kreieren möchte. Man kann sie jedoch umgehen und eine der zahlreichen bereits vorhandenen Kombinationen wählen. Diese werden mit kreativen Namen und verführerischen Bildern auf einer großen Tafel vorgestellt.
Kleiner Tipp: Cake Batter Icrecream mit Yellow Cake, Oreos, Peanut Butter, Sahne und Caramel.
Preis:
Eher hoch, allerdings sind die Portionen dafür auch sehr groß. Für das, was man geboten bekommt, meiner Meinung nach vollkommen angemessen (wenn man gänzlich unpassende Zutaten kombiniert, ist man natürlich selber schuld ;-)).
Kann mich nicht genau erinnern, aber in etwa vergleichbar mit den Preisen für durchschnittliche Eisbecher in einer deutschen Großstadt. Zunächst hielt ich die «kleine Portion» für wirklich klein, aber nachdem bestimmt 3 oder 4 Oreos, ein ganzes (kleines) Stück heller Rührkuchen etc. in den Eisberg hineingewandert waren, war sie alles andere als klein.
Wo bekommt man es?
Soweit mir bekannt ist, bis jetzt leider nur in den USA. In Deutschland gibt es seit kurzem in einigen Städten sogenannte «Langnese Happiness Stations», die nach dem gleichen Prinzip funktionieren (an Coldstone allerdings noch lange nicht heran kommen).
Fazit:
Für Eiscreme-​Liebhaber ein wahr gewordener Traum. Frisch, kreativ, unglaublich lecker. Für mich definitiv das beste Eis der Welt!

Lecker, Lecker, Lecker.
So ein Eis sucht man in Deutschland vergebens.
Frische Zutaten und herrlich cremiges Eis.
Das spiegelt sich aber auch in den Preise wieder. Billig ist es nicht. Aber einmal Probieren sollte man auf jeden Fall.
Für deutsche Mägen ist die (!) kleinste Größe vollkommen ausreichend. (Ich hatte die mittlere Größe und habe die Menge nicht geschafft)

So etwas hat die Welt (zumindest Deutschland) noch nicht gesehen!
Hier kann man vor dem Kauf jede Eissorte erstmal probieren. Wenn man sich für eine Sorte entschieden hat, formt das nette Personal mit zwei Löffeln eine riesige Kugel. In die Kugel werden dann frische Zutaten (Früchte, Schokolade, M&Ms,…), je nach Wunsch, eingeknetet. Frischer gehts nicht!
Auch die leckeren Milkshakes werden nach diesem Prinzip frisch zubereitet.
