In January 2015, I purchased a Groupon deal for a cooking class in NYC. I attempted to contact Candice Gallagher to schedule a class date for my sister’s bachelorette party, to which she responded with a 1 line email that said «they are booked 90 days out». I did not hear from her in 3 weeks – even after sending 4 follow-​up emails. I have since asked Groupon for a refund.
This business should be ashamed of their customer service. Yes, you’re busy, but so are your customers. Get your act together and treat paying customers like you actually want their return business.
Don’t waste your time with this one.

I’m re-​posting my review of the Conrad Gallagher «experience» in California. It sounds like the exact one that Groupon is offering in New York.
My wife bought a Conrad Gallagher cooking class for my Christmas present. Unfortunately, when we tried to make a reservation, we received an email stating that they no longer had classes and to contact Groupon.
I then read the Unilocal reviews and was horrified by everyone’s bad experiences. I considered ourselves fortunate that we were never given the runaround when scheduling a class. I’m also happy that we didn’t make the drive to Newport Beach, only to be disappointed that the class had been cancelled.
Most of all, I’m glad that Groupon was quick to refund my wife’s money in the form of a Groupon credit. NOTE: I see that Gallagher’s Groupon in New York is still being sold. Not sure why Groupon is offering this after so many people have been burned, but in the words of Mr. Brady, «Caveat Emptor» («Let the buyer beware»).

What kind if scam are they running?
Fortunately I was able to get a full refund from Groupon, but only because I asked for the refund within 3 days of purchase.

Terrible experience, received the cooking class as a gift (via a Groupon). Showed up for a class this passed weekend and THERE WAS NO CLASS. Phone numbers didn’t work and wasn’t able to contact anyone about getting a refund. Put in a claim with Groupon and hoping for the best.
Don’t waste your time.

If you’re trying to buy their cooking class, don’t waste your time. After paying, you’ll get an automated e-​mail saying they are overbooked and scheduling is too difficult to coordinate future classes. Instead, they would like to offer you online instructional videos. Really? And the videos aren’t even ready yet, so you’ll get a login to view them soon as they become available.
Meanwhile they have a Groupon deal running… as if they were trying to bring more traffic to their business. Looks like they false advertise product they never intend to offer, to make you pay a lot of money for something that’s all over the internet for free.
