Courtney Linenberg DDS

Dr Linenberg is awesome.
I am a well-​versed dental patient. Due to trauma from a cycling accident many years ago, I’ve spent too much time in the dental chair. Of all the dentists I’ve seen (and I’ve seen way too many) Dr Linenberg was the best. I’ve never really gotten over my fear of visiting the dentist, and I am probably best described as a difficult patient, however, Dr Linenberg immediately set me at ease — she was confident, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Her conservative approach was also appreciative, so when she did suggest something, I knew it was absolutely needed and was in my best interest. She has a genuine desire to help her patients make informed decision.
Afterwards she personally checked up on me, and provided me her direct line in case any issues arose. I have recommended her to some co-​workers and friends.
The office was extremely clean, and the staff was very professional.
Overall, this was the best dental experience I’ve had to date. I can’t recommend Dr. Linenberg enough.

This is my first review on Unilocal.I never gave ppl negative reviews in any occasions, but for this one, I have to. I went to Dr. Linenberg office for a consultation for possible root canal due to the good but few reviews online. However, I do not think that I am lucky, because:
1. I came early and was asked into the treatment room. However, the doc showed up in about 20mins. The nurse said that she was on the phone… When I saw her, she looked impatient (Maybe she had some urgent personal issues to deal with? in any cases, she could not bring personal emotions to her professional job)
2. The equipment and tools look old and dirty.
3. Though I told the doc not to touch one tooth by metal tool, she did, and made me very painful and uncomfortable.
4. She charged me and my dental insurance for about 200 dollars in total for a 20 minutes painful consultation.
I never tried other doctors in this office, since I really do not want to come back again.

Dr. Linenberg made having a root canal as pleasant as possible. She worked competently and efficiently, and put me at ease. Throughout both visits required for the procedure, she asked me if I was alright, and she continually updated me as she worked, which is reassuring.
If I ever need another root canal (hopefully not), I’ll absolutely see her.

I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Linenberg. The endodontist that my primary dentist referred me to was out of network, which would have cost me a great deal. I searched my dental providers web site, and then cross referenced the names with Unilocal reviews, and I read Dr. Linenberg’s reviews, and decided to make an appointment. I saw her about a year ago for a root canal and so far so good. She’s very, very nice and has a gentle approach.
I think Dr. Linenberg dispels the myth that you have to go out of network to get a good dentist. I hope she doesn’t leave my network!

My experience with Dr. Courtney Linenberg was not a positive one. In my opinion, she is very young, not experienced, and extremely conservative in her diagnosis. My dentist and I were SURE I needed a root canal (all the signs were there) when I went to her office she did a couple tests and sent me off without a Root Canal and told me to come back in a week after taking antibiotics to test again — the visit with her lasted all of 10 minutes. Because I was in pain and travelling out of the country soon, and at my dentist’s referral, I went to see another specialist, Dr David Dane (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM), he did the same tests that Dr Linenberg did and in seconds knew I needed a root canal. He performed the procedure thoroughly and told me there was quite an infection, and had I gone flying with this tooth the way it was, I would have been in excruciating pain due to the pressure in the cabin from flying. I was thankful to have tooth cared for properly. Unfortunately, because Dr Dane’s calendar during normal business hours was full, I had to pay an extra $ 300 for a nighttime emergency appointment — in addition to the normal fee for a Root Canal. Then, to add insult to injury, I received a bill from Dr Linenberg for $ 70 out of pocket (and she had already received $ 110 from my insurance company for the Consultation). When I called their office to ask them to please wave/​write-​off the $ 70 fee and explained what had happened I spoke with Nelly and she said she spoke with Dr Linenberg and they decided that I was responsible for this $ 70 cost (reluctantly, I finally paid this fee). But, going to her was a very expensive mistake; I ended up losing $ 180 ($ 70 out of pocket to her directly and $ 110 that could have gone towards my root canal and cap — because I was maxed out I had to pay a substantial amount out of pocket), plus the emergency fee of $ 300 in addition to the normal cost of the Root Canal. Personally, I would steer clear of her and look for someone less conservative in practice with a bit more compassionate with regards to billing, especially when their diagnosis was wrong and the patient in pain. Needless to say, I am not a fan and do not recommend her.

I had a root canal with Dr. Courney Linenberg 3 months ago. I experienced absolutely no pain, and was extremely comfortable throught the whole procedure. She is very professional and her staff puts you completely at ease.

I just had perhaps the best dental experience in 20 years with Dr. Linenberg, DDS and her office. And I’ve experienced just about everything when it comes to all-​things-​dental. The office is in a high-​polished building on Madison Avenue in between Barney’s & Calvin Klein retail stores. The reception area is spotless and welcoming, the offices are antiseptic clean but somehow warm and friendly, and administrative staff greet you like a VIP. You fill out your medical history on a laptop, which is much easier than filling out a form by hand. Then, Dr. Linenberg and her amazing assistant give you 110% of their attention, and as much time as needed for Q&A, along with the kindest and gentlest care. The needle did not hurt (she «used all her tricks»), even though I expected the worst. My prognosis was terrible, but I felt at complete ease leaving the office because I was fully confident in her assessment. She clearly explained everything as she worked, was methodical and careful, and exactly the doctor you want in your corner when you’re dealing with a dental issue like a complicated root canal. Whether you have insurance, a discount plan, or are paying in full, my suggestion is to go to her. I would even see one of her colleagues, if you can’t get in with her, because you need a rush appointment. All dental experiences should be like the one I had today, which I am so grateful for, and nobody should ever have to settle for anything less.
