Courtyard New York Manhattan/Soho

Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! Location was great. Comfy Bed. Fantastic view from our 19^th Floor Room of Midtown. Karren at the front desk was super wonderful to work with. We were only there one night and I wish we could’ve stayed for a week. Only wish it had a restaurant on site but no biggie as there are great restaurant options right outside the doors.

I enjoyed my stay here because of the little perks, like free wifi throughout the hotel and the computers and outlets available on the 12^th floor where the Starbucks was located. I can’t wait to return and enjoy more amenities next time! The front desk was super helpful too– when we checked in, we asked for a dinner recommendation and they suggested Pig and Whistle down the street— amazing Irish pub!

Great location. Helpful staff. I will stay here again. Houston subway station is across the street, which makes it super convenient for getting to Times Square and Central Park. Staff made good restaurant recommendations within close walking distance. Try Spunto’s for pizza. Hotel lobby had Starbucks which was nice. Free computer and printer use in lobby a bonus. Love this place!!!

Great location and great staff!
My husband and I spent two nights here and it was a great experience. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted by friendly, smiling faces. Every employee seemed genuinely nice and very welcoming, which can be rare nowadays.
Our room was average size for Manhattan. We had the view of the side of a building, but we didn’t plan on staying inside gazing out the window anyway! The room was very clean and the bathroom was stocked with Paul Mitchell toiletries. There was no bathtub, only a large shower, which I preferred anyway. Mini fridge in the room was great since we brought leftovers back to the hotel after dinner.
The location was great. Within walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Reasonably priced Über fare to Newark International Airport as well.
We plan on staying here again the next time we’re in NYC!

Great location and staff — good rooms and prices
My wife and I stayed here recently as part of her West Village birthday celebration. It is an easy walk to the many fabulous restaurants and entertainment spots the Village/​SoHo has to offer. And it is obvious that the hotel management puts a high premium on providing excellent service. The room itself was nice with new furnishings and the usual quality Marriott bed and bedding. And it was good sized for NY (aka tiny for anywhere else in the US).
There were a few weirdnesses. The carpet is paper thin and crunched oddly in places. There was an enormous shower but no tub. And though the hotel offers valet parking the process is far from self explanatory. There were cones placed in front on the hotel so I had to leave my car double parked in traffic while I got someone to come out, move the cones, and explain to us that I should just park the car and take the keys inside to the desk.
All that said, I would stay here again in a heartbeat the next time I wanted to stay in the area.

Hotel is conveniently located near the #1 subway stop at Houston st. Smaller well appointed rooms. Did not get to fully enjoy the area because of a 30 inch snowfall but the desk staff especially Joel shined during the storm. Joel was very helpful at finding places for us to dine when nearly all restaurants in the area were closed. We will definitely be back as you can walk to numerous great restaurants and get anywhere on a quick subway ride which is a 3 minute walk. IMO a very good value in NYC. We can’t wait to return

Staff was incredibly friendly and the location was perfect! Especially appreciated Will. He worked the night shift and was a HUGE help! When we booked this place we didn’t realize we were so close to shopping Heaven! Our beds were so comfy… We slept like babies. Also it was soooo close to the subway. Made traveling a breeze. Absolutely will come again!

I loved staying here and will probably stay here again very soon. Amazing staff. Very friendly and helpful. Clean, quaint, great location. Small, yes, but what do you expect in NYC? All around winner. AND, the guy in the Starbucks café is very, very nice, too! :)

Great hotel! The room is pretty spacious & clean. The staff were helpful, friendly, & polite. Great location too! Lots of restaurants & shops nearby. There is also a subway station like around the corner.

Comfy and cozy hotel. Very good location. Staff was very friendly, especially Javier. Rooms are a little bit small, but modern and clean. Breakfast was okay, but there were nearby places excellent to have breakfast or a brunch, such as: 12 Chairs and Suĺlivan Bistro. Would stay here again.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I could not believe the experience that I had at this marriott. For someone who travels as much as I do. I thought the staff here was amazing. The hotel was clean. My suite was a normal size for manhattan.
It is very rare that I get hotels five stars. I was headed from the upper Eastside to the village My driver pulled up to the front of the hotel and as soon as I got out of the door. A gentleman named Will dressed in a black suit with a ear piece on. came out and grabbed my luggage for me. He said my name is Will and I will be assisting you to your room today. He walked me to the front desk where a gentleman by the name of Javier check me in promptly. Javier was great he actually told me that my suit was ready. Javier did tell me the only problem was that my suite did not have a City view. Will ended up going behind the counter with hobby year and they both tried to find me a suite with a view. I did tell them that I didn’t care because I am from New York so it’s not really a big deal to me to have a City view. After I was all checked in. will brought me up to my room he placed my luggage down for me. he went through each room in the suite. he told me how everything in the room worked he showed me where all of the light switches were located. Will also told me if I needed anything else to contact him directly and that he was the security for the hotel.
Once will left I decided to make myself a drink. Just about five minutes after Mr. will left. I get a phone call from Javier at the front desk asking how my room was and if everything was up to my standards. I laughed because I am fairly easy to please. I told Javier that I could not get the lights to come on in the bedroom. He said I am extremely sorry about that I will have somebody take a look at it. The maintenance guy came and told me that I had to have both of the sconce lights on in order for the main light to work.
The suite itself was nice it’s New York City so any suite that you get in the city is fairly small. There was a full basket there was a couch that had a pull out bed there was a really long bar area that had a full sink and multiple drawers. The bedroom was a fairly big size you could get around it no problem. The bathroom was nice and spacious first city bathroom it had a walk in shower.
The hotel is located on Varick Street which you can walk to all the shops as well as to Chelsea and the Chelsea market there are a ton of restaurants that you can walk to from this hotel.
I had about an hour and a half to kill before I was meeting friends for dinner. I went down to the front desk and told Javier and Mr. Will that I was having two friends arrive and if they could look out for them once they arrived. Also if one of them could let me know that they were here. I also asked both of them if they had any restaurant recommendations. Will told me that there was a really good spot down the street. They do all fresh local and organic foods. We ended up going there for dinner and it was a very good.
Overall this courtyard Marriott exceeded my expectations. The staff here I thought went above and beyond especially for this hotel not being a five-​star resort. If I am in the village I would definitely recommend staying here the hotel is extremely clean and the staff is amazing.

According to my wife — «the cleanest hotel I have ever been in». And this says a lot as we have visited many locales and lots of hotels and B&Bs.
Rates were reasonable, valet parking service is available and was a prompt as anything (indoor garage).
There is a full service Starbucks (with breakfast and pastries in the lobby and the location close to our destination (PIORA) was just right — a short walk so we could eat, drink, be merry and not drive.

Since I’ve been visiting New York, I’ve always stayed in Midtown, but recently decided to mix it up and stayed at this SoHo property and I’m happy I did.
Not only did I love being able to explore a new neighborhood, but the hotel is about 200 yards from a subway stop so it’s convenient for exploring other areas.
The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, and we were even able to check in early — bonus! I also loved that they have a noon check-​out time. I know it’s only an extra hour, but it’s a nice little luxury!
The rooms were clean and really did look like the photos on their website. In terms of size, they are pretty typical of what you’d find elsewhere in the city. I did; however, love the central A/​C and that our room had a view of the Empire State!

Great location. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are new and clean and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are small, but nothing unusual for a NYC hotel. I’ve been in MUCH smaller ones.
Don’t expect great views of the city, but in exchange its quiet and you get a good night’s sleep. The location is convenient to most subway lines and lots of shopping. If you book in advance, you’ll get a price for under $ 200, but like any hotel, you’ll pay too much if you wait until the last minute, and it will seem over priced for what you’re getting. I’d definitely stay here again.

I think I’m spoiled by the exceedingly nice Marriott Courtyard in Millbrae, CA, which is huge, with a great atrium full of plants, skylights, and a really large restaurant and bar area that does amazing Sunday brunches with live music.
The SoHo Courtyard is absolutely none of that. My living room is probably larger than the entry to the hotel. The dining option is a café that seats about four *total* people. There is no room service option. The floors are tiny, with about a half dozen rooms per floor, and the room I got on the fifth was really tiny as well, with a great view of… an alley. Okay, well, at least it wasn’t just a brick wall, and this IS NYC.
Am I complaining? Actually, not really. Just a little disappointed given the polish and amenities I’ve come to expect from Courtyards. The only complaint I had on the room is that was no conveniently-​located wall switch for the lights. After opening the door, need to grope around in the dark to find the lamp on the opposite wall and turn it on the old fashioned way — normally I’d expect a wall switch to operate at least ONE light right at the entry way.
The free wifi worked great on my laptop, tablet and phone, simultaneously. The desk chair was fairly comfy, and the desk not bad. The beds were firmer than most hotels, but that was a bit of a plus for me. The pillows seemed okay (I like denser pillows, but hotels in general seem to go for «fluffy»).
Your mileage may vary. If your use of the hotel is merely for «sleeping» and you’re spending your time enjoying nightlife, tourism, or business, the place is a perfectly good option. But it’s a fairly utilitarian hotel.

This is a brand new hotel, so new that my cab driver had to check his iPhone for the address and directions to get here.
I often stay at Marriotts, with many of them being Courtyard Marriott properties for their cleanliness, location, free internet access and reasonably priced hot breakfasts. I’ve stayed at four other Marriott properties in NYC, including two of their other Courtyard locations uptown.
This is my first time staying in the SoHo area and it’s very conveniently located to the shops and restaurants in SoHo and Greenwich Village. The subway entrance for the 1 train is half a block away. It was easy enough for me to walk to most places. The area is pretty quiet too as most of the «action» is a couple of short blocks away.
The hotel’s room was small. Yes, this is NYC and rooms are usually small, but this is one of the smallest rooms I’ve ever had, anywhere. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing as I didn’t really spend that much time in the room. The bathroom was standard sized and the room contains a desk, armoire, mini-​refrigerator, and flat screen TV. I shared this room with a friend and our two double beds allowed just enough room for us to move around. However, it was would very cramped for 3 or 4 people, especially with more than one child older than a toddler.
The lobby offers free coffee and tea every morning. The café, in the back of the lobby, offers food, snacks and Starbucks coffee that was pretty pricey for some of the items. There’s a Dunkin Donuts a few doors down, as well as a few places to pick up beverages, sandwiches and snacks within one block of the hotel.
The gym is located in the basement. To find it you enter through a door in the lobby and head down some steps. There were three treadmills, an elliptical machine and a recumbent bike. They have space for yoga/​stretching. They have individual TV’s, towels and a small refrigerator with small bottles of water. I was there for just under one hour one morning and during that time, quite a few guests were there getting their workouts in as well.
The staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful, especially the front desk and the housecleaning staff. Our requests, although few, were met immediately and we were always greeted with a smile and a cheerful attitude.
Would I stay here again? Yes, absolutely. It’s a new property with a fantastic location, great staff and a comfortable bed.

It’s modern, but not sterile-​looking.
It’s in a great location.
It’s got comfy beds.
It’s got the extras you’d expect from a Courtyard… most of them.
I can’t speak on the pricing since I spent the night on my friend’s dollar, but she gave them a five star review and she stays there more frequently than any other hotel in NYC. (See Camille R.)
