Courtyard New York Manhattan/Times Square West

Clean. Nice sized room and very large bathroom. Really not that far from the theater district. Staff courteous and helpful. The price compared to hotels in times Square proper can’t be beat!

Been here twice and the service and hotel was pretty awesome. Tried getting a room here again but they were booked. For a «Courtyard», this is probably one of the better ones that I’ve stayed at. A little tiny in the lobby but I guess you could think of it as a boutique (so to speak) hotel.
Rooms are very much up to date and extremely clean. It’s actually much better than its bigger Marriott brethren that I’ve stayed.

This hotel is wonderful! The rooms are quiet and comfortable, the staff is very friendly, and the location is perfect. We can easily walk to Broadway, Time Square, Madison Square Garden, Central Park, and much more.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel when visiting the big apple for the first time. Awesome hotel for the price that I paid, checking in was simple and they let us check in 2 hrs earlier. The hotel is walking distance from time square, and it’s not in a very noisy area which was great. The staff were all really friendly and the room was wonderful. The bed sheets were the best, and kept me warm at night. The rooms décor was very modern and the bathroom was very spacious.
Overall it was a great stay.

What a great value for this location! It says «Times Square» but it isn’t actually IN Times Square so make sure you look at the map first. The location is relatively quiet compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in the area. The place is very nicely updated, the rooms are very modern and comfortable, although some of the king-​bed rooms can be considered «compact.» The bathroom is actually very spacious though! The bed is very soft and the linens are high quality (as you’d expect from Marriott). They have a nice quick-​service restaurant downstairs for breakfast and late night (try the oatmeal — it’s YUMMY).

Decent hotel, but nothing too special. It’s walking distance to the main Times Square area and to the theater district. But keep in mind this isn’t what I would consider «In Times Square», probably why it says west.
Lots of food places, gift shops, pharmacies, etc… Near Penn Station.
Hotel itself has: Free Wifi, computers to use downstairs and to print (free), A Bistro/​café (didn’t try the food, drinks were expensive– $ 11 glass of wine… But they advertise a ½ price happy hour around 5pm).
Room: had a King Size bed, comfortable for two. Basic room amenities, plus they have a fridge so that’s a plus.
Staff: helpful when you go and ask questions. Sometimes you’re greeted when you come in, other times it’s like you’re invisible (but that was the feeling a lot in a fast paced NYC)

I echo most of the reviews-​we had a perfect stay here! Convenient to Times Square but not IN Times Square, the location three blocks from Penn Station is great. The check-​in was fast and easy and the service was super friendly. We called a few days in advance to see if we could get an early check-​in at they had our room ready for us when we arrived at 11. Rooms were very clean and modern, bathroom was spacious, shower was great, and the bed was comfortable. Also, free wifi! We will most definitely be back! Hopefully soon!

This was one of the smoothest hotel stays ever for my family of 5, and we have a history of traveling quite a bit. Plus, based on our research, the costs and location was one of the best on Times Square.
We checked in on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving day, 2015, and the front desk greeters were pleasant and professional (Lavissa?). We arrived earlier than normal check in time by five hours, so they took our six bags and store them while we went out into New York City and explored. They texted me to let me know the room was ready in just a few hours, which was still about three hours before normal check in time.
The hotel keys we had were state-​of-​the-​art where you just rub them on the sensor and they allowed you into the elevator or your room, which means there was systematic built in security. The hotel rooms we checked into were clean.
The concierge (Darryl?) helped us plan our week here by getting him set up on the gray line tours double-​decker buses as well as the ferry that went to the Statue of Liberty. Based on other costs we had heard the cost was better than competitive, and his real life experiences he shared helped us plan our trip.
When we needed towels and toiletries during the week, they were very hospitable and quick to respond. And at the end of our trip when we are ready to check out and needed to print off our boarding passes for Airplane the assistant manager Ivette proactively suggested that I email her our boarding passes so that she could print them off for me, which she did.
I not only would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, but I will be making this my hotel of choice every time I come to New York in the future.

I was staying overnight because I was attending a Broadway Show and having Dinner in the city, I chose this hotel because it was reasonably priced, brand new rooms, along with a great and pleasant staff. I didnt have one problem from check in to check out. I will gladly stay again if needed. Thanks

I booked this place really last minute, literally the morning of my stay, and actually got a really good rate! For 5 nights, we got a standard hotel room, for about $ 945 dollars. I thought this was very affordable compared to the other mediocre hotels surrounding the Times Square area.
The hotel was literally within walking distance to Times Square and there were plenty of food options nearby. The 34^th & Penn Subway Station is also within a few blocks, which is very convenient for anyone trying to explore the big apple.
As for the hotel room, the room was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. I appreciate the staff for being so attentive and providing us all the necessities to make our stay here superb. There is also free wifi, which is handy when trying to research more things to do in New York.
Con, the convenience store downstairs is very expensive. I paid $ 10 for a bag of chips and bottle of Dasani Water. Luckily there’s a 7-​Eleven around the corner. Save your money and buy your water there.
I’ll definitely be staying here again when visiting New York. :)

Did a quick trip to NYC 5 days before the baby is due with the in laws and found this cute & modern hotel (and quite affordable price on

Overall, we are always satisfied when staying with any Marriot hotel branch so we will definitely keep this location in mind the next time we want to stay in NYC for few nights. Please install a bathroom vent, for obvious reasons. :) Otherwise, this hotel is very clean and well kept hotel!

Highly recommend! Great hotel. Modern, convenient, clean, super staff. Great bistro for morning Starbucks coffee or nightly drinks.

It’s a small room, but it’s NYC so that’s to be expected. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance (again, it’s NYC that’s a given) close to Times Square and all the fantastic sights and things of that sort. For the price, you’re definitely getting a deal. I always stick with brands and boutiques when I’m in NYC. You definitely get what you pay for there. But this hotel is a steal.

stayed here for a week in February with a deal from groupon for $ 109/​night. Best deal in NY! Included free wifi, room was clean and comfortable and had a mini fridge. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. View was not great but otherwise the hotel was great. Highly recommend staying here.

Great hotel. The staff was amazing, the rooms were spacious and very very clean, it was centrally located to everything including multiple subway lines, and the hotel itself offered a bar; a little market if you needed something; breakfast; and felt very secure and safe. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the city.

5 stars to staff. Everyone here both days was remarkably polite and professional. Truly a pleasure to speak with everyone from bell desk to front desk to restaurant staff. A+++ would be happy to work with again.
Remember this is Manhattan, so rooms will be small. That’s fine, I’m not fancy. Furniture is comfortable and has a pleasant aesthetic. Great.
(PRO TIP: The full length mirror in my room was on the inside of the bathroom door. Didn’t notice until my second day, which can be an issue for business travelers who need to look put together.)
Mid-​winter rates: can’t beat ‘em! Now, I don’t know much about the different neighborhoods in Manhattan. I choose this place because it was near my company’s home office and Penn Station. It’s not fancy but there are some great local places nearby.
It’s NYC so it’s LOOOOOOOOOOOUD. Even with earplugs and white noise machine (a road warrior’s best friend), I was woken up by the garbage trucks at 1:30am on Wednesday night and couldn’t get back to sleep. I was a zombie the next morning.
Sort of off-​topic, but Courtyard Marriott? I *HATE* this weird hybrid café/​restaurant/​bar thing you have going and it’s clear you’ve spent a lot of money developing this business model, so sorry to harsh your buzz. I’ve encountered it in multiple Courtyard properties and it’s confusing as hell to me. Cloth napkins, place settings, but no wait staff. Instead, you go to the counter and order from a posted menu café-​style. It makes NO SENSE with the décor and tone of the place. They’re going for something quasi-​upmarket to appeal to business travelers I guess (of which I am one) but the high price points for a non-​sit down experience really rub me the wrong way… and I was actually really surprised by that. I wouldn’t have thought I cared much at all. I guess it’s just that you’re overworked and disoriented when you get to a new town and a new hotel and the last thing you want to do is guess at how the hell you’re supposed to interact with ordering stuff. Although maybe I’m not in your key demographic. I dunno. I just don’t like it

Arrived on a cold snowy day. Was told it is within walking distance from Penn Station. I would agree that it is however when lugging bags with you, it becomes more challenging.
The front desk staff was very accommodating and kind. I was permitted to check in early and given a tour on my way to the elevator. The front desk even called me an hour later to make sure I was happy with my accommodations.
The room is very clean and smaller of course than other big city hotels. It is comfortable and close to sights

Perfect hotel, terrific location, kind staff! Stayed for a Saturday night in December after finding a last-​minute deal online the Thursday right before. Was dismayed at how much hotels are in the City during the holidays but scoring the Priceline deal made this doable! Went there early — about 10 — to see about a hotel and while they didn’t have one ready yet, we were first in the list upon return. Plus they held our bags! The room was small but was not lacking in absolutely anything. Bed was comfy! Would absolutely stay here again!

My family and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard Marriott! This place is the perfect retreat after a full day of walking all over NYC. The rooms are clean and furnishings very comfortable. It helps that this is a new hotel. Only a year old when we came.
Service was on point! Our entire experience met our expectations and more. We received extremely friendly service. Prompt too! Anytime we called for extra towels or toiletries they were up in minutes.
Its a great location! A 10 minute walk in any direction will lead you to some sort of NYC attraction. Which is what we came for!

The staff was very friendly, hotel was clean in the common areas and cool décor. We arrived at 8:30 in the morning and a room was already available, which we were very grateful for. However, there was what appeared to be puke in the toilet– I just flushed it and didn’t make a fuss as I didn’t want to start the vacation with my wife off on a bad note. Other than that, no complaints about cleanliness. Some facts you may be interested in knowing– water pressure isn’t super great, nowhere to prop your leg up to shave, and the elevators are pretty slow. The room is how it looks in the photos – small, but it’s NYC. Would probably stay again if going to be in that area of Midtown.
Location good if you want to walk to Times Square, Empire State Building, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, etc. We also walked to Central Park, which really wasn’t too bad of a walk. We walked to the Brooklyn Bridge as well, and while that was quite a trek, it was very very cool to see Chelsea and the Village and SoHo.

So this hotel was pretty awesome. Despite my storied history with New York City, I’ve never actually stayed in a hotel there, and for that I guess I am lucky because they’re so freaking expensive.
I last found myself in the «city that never sleeps» (which is beyond true) a couple of weeks ago before embarking on a cruise with 26 other family members. I got the heads up about this hotel from a fellow cruiser I «follow» (read: stalk) on social media. I had suggested it to my mother in months prior, and apparently that’s where several kinfolk decided to stay for our two nights in New York pre-​sea voyage.
I stayed with a friend of mine who lives in the area the first night and joined my mom and sister the second night, mostly because I didn’t trust myself to control my partying. The first night, I ended up at a Papa John’s at 2:30am so I knew I needed to exercise some self-​restraint. That is called getting old. Anyway.
So I took a cab from my friend’s place and arrived at the Courtyard Marriott Times Square West at approximately 11pm. It was a Saturday. I had a backpack on, and a duffle bag delicately balanced atop a large suitcase that I’d been dragging around, not to mention the fact that I was pretty buzzed from earlier on that evening. I strolled into the lobby and realized that the desk person likely wouldn’t let me into the room since it was under my mother’s name and I highly doubted she had thought to alert them to my presence. Turns out, I was right.
The friendly dude told me that if Mother Dearest called and gave him authorization, he would give me a key and allow me into the room. I knew from prior communication that my mother was shopping in Times Square and that getting in touch with her would be challenging at best. I think I called her cell phone repeatedly no less than 50 times before she finally answered. I had her call back on the hotel’s phone and the nice fellow gave me a key and sent me up to the 27^th floor (the top floor perhaps).
The room was very nice but TINY. There was only one bed, I’m not sure if it was a king or a queen. At that point, I realized I should’ve stayed another night with my friend as I ended up sleeping in the middle between my sister and Mother Dearest. Waking up to pee at 6am proved to be interesting. The room was apparently only supposed to be for two people.
The next morning, I enjoyed a bottle of water and egg/​cheese breakfast sandwich in the «bistro» on the first floor for $ 15.
There was a little outdoor area adjacent to the «bistro» that the family had apparently congregated in the night before, prior to my late arrival. It looked nice, but I made no use of it.
So it’s a great location, within easy walking distance to Times Square and everything else in that area, as the name obviously suggests. If I need a hotel the next time I’m in New York, I’s stay there. It’s very clean and if I recall correctly, it’s fairly new as well.
Also a very quick cab ride to the cruise ship terminal if you’re headed that way.

$ 4 for a load of laundry. It’s NYC. $ 4 to dry said load… It’s NYC. Go buy a t shirt. the tax will be more than $ 4.

Weight Room /​Fitness Center was outstanding for the size of this hotel. Great equipment, stability balls (I’ve seen shoddier work out facilities on cruise ships for 3000 passengers), hand weights, bike machines, treadmills all good equipment and clean.
This location is a few blocks away from Times Square (10 minute slow walk). Close to great inexpensive eating places. Posses’ possibly the nicest Marriott staff I have come by in recent years.
For me, who bitches and finds something wrong with everything… I found no wrong. $ 4 laundry is a bargain you other cheap complaining pricks. Who goes to a hotel to do laundry in NYC when there’s laundry at every corner like starbucks.
