¹¹⁄₁₄ Brought truck to Cybert to repair radiator thermostat, daignose and repair…$ 846. ³⁄₁₅ Truck leaking fluid, returned truck to Cybert & told that «someone» put the wrong radiator cap which caused the leak… $ 250 to diagnose and repair. Two days later truck breaks down on my son outside of Buffalo, NY and is towed to nearest service station. Engine overheated because the radiator cap wasn’t properly put on radiator and the radiator hose was unattached causing it to drain over the 400+ mile drive. $ 159 to tow and repair. Service invoice from Buffalo taken to Cybert to be told that since the truck wasn’t towed back to them they would not honor the warranty. They do not stand behind their work, they over change and the manager avoids all contact once something goes wrong.

Talented, efficient and meticulously honest. Gone there for a dealer recommended repair and they found something else wrong that the dealer should have taken care of. I’m grateful to them and trust them.

Went today for NYC inspection after reading many of the positive reviews on Unilocal and was VERY satisfied. Great service, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff. John the owner was great to deal with. I will make CYBERT my neighborhood service center for oil changes, front end alignments, new tires and any other service my SUV may need.

The men who work here are not only skilled mechanics, they are also honest. I took a car to Lexus of Manhattan for a recall service. The Lexus Service Department said I need a rear brake repair ($ 345) and a new air filter ($ 129). I took the car to Cybert — which does the annual inspections and oil changes for the car, and where I purhcaed new my tires — and they did a complete diagnosis. The filter Lexus said was black, they showed me. It looked new. And the brakes were nowhere near in need of repair. The car may be old, but it only has 20k miles on it. Thank you Cybert for saving me $ 500. I’ll keep coming back to you for all my car needs and keep telling everyone how great you are.

I found them on Unilocal this morning and took a chance since my car inspection sticker was 6 months expired and it was easy to get to from the UWS. I was able to pull right in, they inspected my car and I was out of there in 20 minutes. While waiting, my 2 year old had her lunch in their waiting room and they even had children’s books available. Very friendly, convenient location, would highly recommend.

It’s a shame that a place with good mechanics and quick service has such poor customer service. I’m not sure the reason– maybe the guy at the front desk just didn’t like me. But I can honestly say that he might be perhaps the rudest person in a customer service environment that I have dealt with in this city. Everyone makes mistakes, and as good people we need to understand this. But he is quick to blame you for everything and not take any responsibility for common things like a forgotten phone call or trouble with a repair. So if you have very, very thick skin and these things don’t bother you, then you will be fine. I recommend the place.

So far, so good. Been here multiple times for my annual NYS inspections, and also had a new battery installed after mine died, and in those visits I never had any type of scam attempted to get more money out of me for unnecessary work. As a matter of fact, they kind of saved me from another repair shop who was trying to scam me for repairs I did not need.
I also like the customer waiting area with free coffee, and somewhat miraculously, they are a garage with a clean bathroom! How often do you see that?!
Once, the guy behind the counter seemed a little irritable with me for no apparent reason, but hey, everyone can have a bad day once in awhile (I’ve had them myself), and I know what’s it like to have a job when you interact with the public all day long – sometimes it’s not easy.

Trustworthy, Reliable, Reasonable Prices
I’ve been going to Cybert for years to take care of my Lexus. It’s much more reasonable in cost than the dealership up the street, and John has always given me honest, straightforward advice and guidance on repairs and tires. It’s New York City, so space is tight, and you may be asked to wait a little while in your car out on the street. Not a big deal; relax, put on the stereo, make a few calls on your cell phone.
NY State Inspections are done very conscientiously and safety concerns will be highlighted if something needs fixing. A previous review complained that they did exactly what they were supposed to — find if anything needs fixing before an accident happens. That’s EXACTLY what I want them to do, not just automatically pass every car that comes in the door.
And Cybert is THE place to go for tires. Incredible selection, and most important, expert advice. I am not a «car guy» and all I know about tires is that they are black and round. John has always taken the time to tell me what I should have, and why, and has offered «good, better, best» alternatives and a range of prices for me to choose from with no pressure to go for the more expensive picks.
Very personal touch, «hometown» feel right in Manhattan. Highly recommended

STAY AWAY! Horrible and rude. That guy john is nasty, nasty, nasty. I would rather drive to jersey than be treated so rudely. I have been going there for 10 years, but I couldn’t take the rudeness anymore. Plus, I’m not sure if my car really needed $ 900 worth of repairs in order to pass inspection… I’m never going back…

Worst service ever!!! Don’t make appointments and when you show up they tell you to wait for an hour but you can’t leave your car, you have to go find parking somewhere if you want to stay in the waiting area. Never had to deal with anything like this and this is for simple inspection for a new car.

Eager to please staff, great inventory of tires… but super pricey
This place has the coolest multi-​story tire storage system I have ever seen. This giant conveyor belt moves all types tires.
Their location is great, the shop is super clean and they have easy walk in service. So why the 3 stars? They are just so expensive for what they do… I could barely believe it! So I go to them for emergency service, but their prices encourage me to avoid them for any kind of regular work.

Ack! Why, oh why, did I not pay attention to the negative reviews I saw before I went there? It was a Sunday, and I badly needed to get my car inspected. Unfortunately, they were one of the only games in town open to doing an inspection on a Sunday. Against my better judgement, I headed over there.
They had me wait in my car out on 11^th Avenue (incidentally, both illegal and unfair to other drivers) for about 15 minutes or so, which wasn’t bad, before taking my car in for the inspection. I waited in the waiting room, which was decent and stocked with coffee and a TV, for about half an hour, while the inspection was being done. After half an hour, the mechanic came and informed me that my car failed inspection for two reasons that were related to each other. Only after I asked him to did he raise my car up on the jack and show me what he had found. He was like, «See how the wheel is loose?» and he shook it. Only thing is, there was barely any movement at all — there was no problem with the wheel, nothing to see!
At first, I said, «Okay, how much will it be to repair?» But they couldn’t get me an estimate until the following day! Exactly why would that be? I then thought better of it and paid for the failed inspection and left in my car. I took it instead up the avenue to a car dealership, which I had initially avoided because I thought it would be much more expensive than a place like Cybert.
At the car dealership, the mechanic inspected the car, and asked me, «Did you take this somewhere else to get inspected? Because there are two items in the NY State Inspection computer system that were recorded as having failed.» (Word to the wise — apparently, now that everything is computerized, if you fail your inspection at one place, you can’t just take it somewhere else and hope that they won’t see it!) Unfortunately, even though the car dealership mechanic didn’t agree with the Cybert mechanic, and said that the Cybert mechanic had been overly strict when he failed my car, now that the failed items had been recorded in the statewide computer system, the car dealership mechanic couldn’t pass my car unless he actually fixed the items in question. So, even though I had taken it somewhere else, I was still on the hook for a couple hundred bucks!
So, the question is: was the Cybert mechanic a crook, or just needlessly anal? To be fair, it’s also plausible that the Cybert mechanic was just being conscientious (a valuable quality) and the car dealership mechanic in fact wasn’t being strict enough, but it’s tough to tell. But given the fact that others have had quite negative experiences at Cybert, I’m inclined to go with one of the former explanations.

Just picked up my VW from getting a tune up and it runs like a new car. Cybert is the absolute best. I’ve been having all service done there for years and I’ve been very satisfied with both the work and the price tag.

Great place, popped a tire at 1AM on a Sat. Night, took me in the next morning first thing, was in and out in an hour. John, I think he was the owner, great guy, really nice and warm. Made me feel at home, was very fair on the pricing, and again they were extremely quick. Would gladly recommend this shop to anyone who needs auto service, about a block from the West Side Highway, and the 10 – 3 Sunday hours are a lifesaver.

I needed a new battery and called to see if they’d take an appointment. While they wouldn’t do an appointment, he told me to come in and gave me a quote.
I drove up and waited about 10 minutes and then they took me right in. The battery change took about 15 minutes and I was back on the road right away.
I was thinking about going to New Jersey for this thinking it would be cheaper and save time, but these guys hooked me up.

Going to a garage for auto repair is like going to the dentist. You don’t like it, you don’t always know what’s going on, but you have to do it…
I had a drastically (5 months expired) inspection sticker. Somehow, mostly because my significant other has commandeered my truck for her daily commute, I’m not on the little things like I normally would be. So, I overlooked that sticker.
Then I saw it.
«Wait – what year are we in? Is that November of LAST year!??»
So, early Saturday morning I headed to Cybert Tire and Car Care to get my inspection done. I had to pick up my future mother in-​law from Laguardia around 3:30 that afternoon so I wasn’t concerned with my time. It was about 10am. An inspection takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
I pulled up outside the bright red garage and stepped into the spacious workshop. George, one of the owners, greeted me with a smile and I asked if they could do an inspection this morning. He told me to pull it in to the shop, showed me to their retro office/​waiting area, and told me he would get me when he was done.
The office is cozy – decorated with old auto repair shop signs, furnishings, oil cans, crates and stools. A humorously incongruous flat screen TV was tuned to CNN and there was a little serve-​yourself coffee bar with almost a dozen flavored syrups for your pleasure.
A few minutes later, George calls me into the shop. I got the feeling this was not going to be the standard, «she’s good to go.» Turns out there was a problem with the front wheels. The truck was drivable but would not pass a safety inspection. George explained the issue (not worth going into the details here) and said fortunately the location of the broken parts made the repair easy and fast – about 30 minutes. The parts were not expensive – unfortunately he did not have them in stock. He was also very clear to say, I could have this repaired anywhere. He said it wasn’t undriveable I could do my errands and bring it back to him or to another shop.
I don’t like driving with broken stuff, and particularly if it may put my family or others on the road at risk. I told George of my time dilemma and after suggesting a few options he said, let me see if I can get the parts today. After about 10 minutes of calls, he said he could have the parts in-​house by 1pm and the truck ready by 2, giving me plenty of time to meet mom-​in-​law at the airport. «You don’t want to mess that up!» he joked. George told me he would give me a heads up call when it was ready, so I left my SUV at his shop and waited at home for his call.
I had barely been home for 90 minutes when at 12:15 my phone rings. «Hi, it’s George from Cybert. Your truck’s ready to go.»
WTF? Really?!
I returned to pick up my truck. It was repaired, inspected and the cost with a half hour labor charge was pretty reasonable and within a couple of bucks of his estimate.
Sometimes you go to the dentist and they tell you you need an emergency root canal. You get freaked out because you thought all you were going in for was a cleaning. Then the job is done faster and with less pain than you imagined. Suddenly, you realize some dentists are pretty cool. This was like that dentist visit.
I will certainly bring my teeth – er – car – back to Cybert. Professional, friendly, helpful and a place that made me feel like they valued me as a customer.

Fantastic service. I was driving up the West Side highway one evening and heard a thumping sound coming from my tires. I have run flat tires, so they are generally noisy and bumpy. I called Cybert, as I have brought my car there before and had good service. I brought my car in right when they opened, they promptly put my car on a lift and within a few minutes diagnosed the problem and showed me what the problem was and clearly explained what was wrong and what needed to be done.
Imagine that… transparency!!!
They gave me a quote (which was much less than the dealer), and told me how long it would take. I had the work done and they got the job done in less time than quoted and stuck to the price, so sudden, unforeseen charges.
I was very happy with the service at Cybert. I highly recommend this place for anybody on the west side with brake, tire, etc, needs.
